No matter how much they want it to be true: Yasuke was NOT a samurai. He was a glorified pet, an oddity. Something for Nobunaga to brag about in court because only he had a black-skinned servant in all of Feudal Japan. This is "we wuz vikingz" levels of bullshittery.

They’re just looking for any excuse to swap anybody or anything to black. I’m Persian, and I can’t remember the last time we had a Persian character in a game. Yes! This We Wuz-ing of history should be treated just as people would a group trying to claim there were huge numbers of dwarves in important positions among the nobility and warrior classes in medieval Europe just because a few kings basically kept them in their court as novelties to show off.
@@chriskos7868they will revise and erase history. I’d argue they’re setting the precedent and conditioning people to embrace lies. The trend of rejecting established history for a subjective narrative started in academia and is trickling down.

- Oda wanted to see him after hearing about him.
- Oda took him as a retainer.
- He was injured and surrendered after Oda loss a fight.
- He was sent back to the missionaries to recover, then vanished.
- He spent 15 months in Japan.

The reason why ppl think Yasuke was a samurai is due to what should be described as fan fiction written about him, that was based on something like a paragraph to two pages the mentioned him being a retainer. It is western "academics" that have pushed the samurai notion based purely on their own fan fiction since there is no historical evidence for the other claims made about him, aside him existing as a retainer.
Yasuke was basically a court jester for Oda to bring out to entertain himself and his guests once in a while.
And it's denigrating to history. Samurai were noblemen. Even a regular ACTUAL Japanese person couldn't just *be* a samurai

The thing is, I’m all for having a fictionalized telling of events when it comes to media covering history. Gladiator is a fairly fictionalized version of the true story. The problem w/ AC:S is two-fold:
1. They are absolutely going to try and convince you that what they tell you is true history is in fact true history when it isn’t (I.e. Yasuke being a Samurai)
2. They are doing this not because there could be interesting stories to tell, but because it’s a nice big checkbox on the DEI quota
They've never once tried to convince people that things happened exactly how they happened in their games.
And yes he was a Samurai. Retainers were essentially Samurai.

Repetition doesn't make a line memorable!
Repetition makes a line attach to a certain person. When you mention Arnold Schwarzenegger, people instantly say, "I'll be back." Why? Because he said that in so many different films that people associate that line with him. Repetition is how marketing works. McDonald's plays multiple commercials per day so you'll remember them the next time you get hungry. It's how I still, to this day, remember the "Two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a sesame seed bun" jingle from a McDonald's commercial that aired decades ago. So, I agree that a lot of great lines are said once, but I don't agree that repetition doesn't make a line memorable. In fact, repetition really can do that.
@@G360LIVE I should have said "more memorable" I guess. The reason he kept saying it though was because it caught on so well when he initially said it. It doesn't change the fact that most of the lines were never said again and most people can still quote them to this day and tell you what movie and scene it came from.

The Yasuke thing is being levied in favor of the original plot seems silly. Since the whole conceite of Assassin's creed was that it was a historical setting with a semi-fantatical twist (a shadow war between two warring factions across many time periods and cultures) Yasuke could still have been there, but it should have been as was historically pertinent. Not blowing *any* individuals existence and contributions out of proportion to inflate egos.

About female presence in videogame culture: we are a (slight) minority in a very niche subculture, we are indeed NOT MANY because first, the community as a whole is not that big despite the growth, and despite being 21st century and the widespread presence of technology, WOMEN ARE NOT INTERESTED. I have 2 *sisters* and they always treated me as an oddity because of my gaming, despite eventually watching me play and liking the content. But between spending money and time in it, instead of shopping, dating or socializing, they give up, and THAT is the rule, I know I'm exception.

Don't necessarily knock the casual market. Prior to the garbage of social medal (Zinga) and mobile games there was the army of stay at home females on the PC. Everything by PopCap and all the budget priced adventure games like the Nancy Drew series is a large library with a large fan base. (Maybe no typical game fans, but they will have extremely fond memories if you remind them.) Those games remind me of the stuff original made for the Gameboy, simple fun, for littler bursts or giant time syncs if you get sucked into them.

About the AC controversy I was hoping to see a legendary Samurai from their history and instead ubiwoke went to the ESG road, I mean Yasuke is not a bad Person on the Japanese history, but to choose him just for ESG points, truly shows them sending the message is much important than make a game. I will never buy an ubiwoke on release, I'll wait when 10 or 20 bucks is.

It's never "cut from the game."When production is started on the game, all the planned features and content are already laid out. Before a single line of code is written, there's a general outline of what additional content will be offered and when.
I was a video game tester for over 10 years. My name is in the credits of many AAA games as well as a few indie titles. This idea that they cut content from the game to sell on the side is just wrong.
To inform you, Taurus let call yourself gamers the season pass has been in nearly every assassin’s creed game and it’s just DLC content. Don’t get it confused with a battle pass.

From what I gathered in a very short search, the people from the show were hanging out, drinking, and police came up and began harassing them, asking them what they were up to. One of the show people then said to the police, "We're just normal men. We're just innocent men." And that's where that came from. I think she laughed so hard because she knows the people on the show who were involved in that incident, and it is a funny story.

There was an opportunity they could have used instead of a fictional black samurai character and in real history he was a retainer not a samurai. If only they read Japanese history carefully and throughly they could have made the only one Japanese Female Assassin Character. Combined both true history and fiction, Japanese women at the time did learn to use a particular weapon called, "Naginata," a Polearm weapon with a curved blade at the top. While the katana sword tends to be associated with male samurai of Japan, a distinctive weapon called the naginata has been traditionally associated with women and female fighters known as onna-bugeisha. They missed an great opportunity to create a Female Lead Assassin Character, if only they and the BAKA writer read their Japanese History thoroughly, but in the end, it is all about the WOKE MESSAGE.
