1st row (back): edge * purl all stitches * edge
Row 2: Edge * Insert the right knitting needle behind the second stitch and pull out the knit stitch, yarn over, knit 2 knit stitches. Throw the extended stitch and thread the yarn over over the last 2 knitted stitches * Edge
3rd row: edge * purl all stitches * edge
Row 4: Edge, knit 1 stitch * insert right knitting needle behind the second stitch and pull the stitch out, yarn over, knit 2 stitches. Throw the extended stitch and pull the yarn over over the last 2 knitted stitches * knit 1 stitch, edge
Repeat these 4 rows until the desired height.
