thank you for uploading this. i can't stand these announcers, they're terrible. they sound like they've never participated in olympic weightlifting at an amateur or professional level.
No I know that, benching does help you build a larger chest for racking the weight on cleans, and other lifts help as well (ex: push press for jerk, snatch push press for snatch, SLDL for clean and snatch, etc). But klokov does a lot of random stuff that's not strictly necessary for fun.
Any advice from someone who trains 10+ lifters stronger than I...Is a good guy for advice. I'm not trying to act like I know anything about OLY lifting...or whether he actually trrains "world class" athletes. Just trying to guide someone who is interested in improving... For someone moving from BB'ing to PL'ing to Oly...He is a solid source for methods that will work.
Notice that I put national (NATIONAL)and world class. If you want good advice...He's still the man to go to. I haven't heard of any other coach that will share their training methods like he does. And be watching out for Pat Mendes...He's on his way to being world class.
not everyone is on drugs, i personally know a 4 place winner in the olympics if i'm not wrong. and a silver medalist is the european championship, she didn't dope, so it just proves that its not impossible, just very hard
Not for fun, non-olylifting lifts are accessory lifts which assist with strength development. You can't only do oly lifting to get better at oly lifting.
@SmallersCY I don't think so. He hasn't sold DVDs like that since he recorded Worlds in 2001. And for this reason, I've also always been curious where he disappears to during all these competitions.
World records will be broken, Klokov did 205kg snatch a month ago, Akkaev followed with a 210kg snatch, plus I hear Aramnau is coming back, will be one for the history books.
Supposedly they mutually said thank you for the challenge because they wouldnt get to their level without the constant competition and push they give each other
I was very happy to know it as well. ofcourse when i first heard they are not going to be there I thought its the test ofcourse. but it would be terrible for them espicially klokov at this age that would be it for him. and akkaev is peaking as well so it would destroy him. anyway, it was all about Ilya ilin and xiaojun this time.
By the 3rd attemps brute strength comes into play even more so Randall has such difficulty giving the lifters technique points that he goes running for the hills. ;)
What's up with this Klokov fanboyism? If I'm not mistaken, this is the highest total Klokov ever scored in the 105kg class, so he obviously did his best.
Again, what's up with the klokov fanboyism? This was one of his best totals in the 105kg class ever. He is a great lifter, but there is a reason why he has taken gold only once: there are better lifters (although only a few).
she is doing great. got a part time job with a few night shifts i think she want to go to school now that she is done with weightlifting, even tho she wants to do a nordic championship to see how she could do in the world championship. maybe we will see her then or not, it would be fun tho. it would please me alot if she did. you know her ? btw got the placings all wrong haha, 7th place in beijing
Istomin probably got red-lighed by one of the judges because he barely paused between the clean and the jerk. The rules state that the lifter must stand still between the clean and the jerk, as to avoid deliberate oscillation of the bar.
Thats exactly what I meant. Almost everyone in the olympics is taking something whether it be EPO anabolics or amphetamines, but you always have the innocent until proven guilty thing for you. Actually having a test labeling you as a steriod user ruins your rep, even if it's pretty obvious that you're on something to begin with.
Look up "BROZKNOWS"on here...and you'll get an idea what world class lifters do. He will usually answer any question you have about prepping national and world class athletes for competition
Not with intelligent use. There are plenty of older guys with good health who have used steroids all their life (Arnold for example). It's what is required to be the best.
Definatly. You're not the only one who is dissapointed. I would almost feel like asking for a refund if I was you. It is almost like you got robbed. Sorry my friend.
skirts365 Yeah but they end up with fucked up backs, hips, joints etc. I lift 6 days a week. I'm a 2 time state champion powerlifter, and I'm starting to move over to olympic lifting. I'm not ignorant though, and I know over half these guys will have fucked up discs, hips, and joints by the time they're 45.
Lol this was intence. I was wondering who will win the gold and silver. The red russian or the blue russian or the blue russian and the red one. They must add a 3rd competator a yellow russian for the bronze.
Klokov got screwed on the Olympic gold because that Belarus was on steroids and he beat The Pol in 2010 because that clean and jerk was easily a press out and yup the refs screwed up once again.
I wouldn't say all maybe are on them. Be reminded, they have made new rules now on taking steroids: 4 year ban is one of them. Although, some countries will lie on testing their Olympic athletes.
I love klokov's look of pure disgust before he lifts, it's almost as if he sneers at the weight
one of the best weightlifting fights in history fo sure!!!
Klokov congratulating the victor with true sportsmanship....That is the real sign of his strength.
thank you for uploading this. i can't stand these announcers, they're terrible. they sound like they've never participated in olympic weightlifting at an amateur or professional level.
Goddamn this clip really offers a lot of great, ballzy lifts with huge effort in them! Pushed to the limit!
i dont remember how i found this channel but im glad i did
Incredible performance and power indeed..! Until the end of the competition..!
Massive respect to these guys.

This was one of the best competitions I've ever seen
Notice that I put national (NATIONAL)and world class.

Very much enjoyed the video!!
8:35 I'd DEFINITELY shave my shoulders before putting a singlet on.
I thought those were tattoos.
i love all these videos. i watch every thing you post up. do you have the 77kg class recording with all the commentary etc?
"He's got those high-tech knee wraps"...Where's they find this guy, District 9?
thouroughly enjoyed viewing this , absolutely supurb lifting !
not everyone is on drugs, i personally know a 4 place winner in the olympics if i'm not wrong. and a silver medalist is the european championship, she didn't dope, so it just proves that its not impossible, just very hard
thank for this video
you can tell that david was really enjoying himself after randy left
Not for fun, non-olylifting lifts are accessory lifts which assist with strength development. You can't only do oly lifting to get better at oly lifting.
There may be some Bulgarians who disagree with you.
@SmallersCY I don't think so. He hasn't sold DVDs like that since he recorded Worlds in 2001. And for this reason, I've also always been curious where he disappears to during all these competitions.
It´s basic squat´s and assistance moves, like clean pull, snatch pull, etc.
The method is what matter´s.
Glad to hear that they didn't test positive.
sad klokov. but this was easily the most entertaining event/class at 2011 worlds.
great call by david webster. were does randall strossen go to. he seems to always leave for the 3rd attempts
Quite amazing to me how Ilyin isn't more recognized.
The power jerk is so bad ass
Klokov and Akkayev both have backed out of the 2012 Olympics. Sad news!
Klokov looks like a bodybuilder.
World records will be broken, Klokov did 205kg snatch a month ago, Akkaev followed with a 210kg snatch, plus I hear Aramnau is coming back, will be one for the history books.
Supposedly they mutually said thank you for the challenge because they wouldnt get to their level without the constant competition and push they give each other
@SmallersCY I mean the one that both Audzeyeu & Istomin are wearing. Aramnau & Rybakou wear them aswell.
am i the only one who cant wait to see what happens in the olympics 2012? KLOKOV vs AKAEV. i think you have to go to 235kg to win

I don't think I've ever seen anyone else get under a bar as fast as Akkaev does
What's up with this Klokov fanboyism? If I'm not mistaken, this is the highest total Klokov ever scored in the 105kg class, so he obviously did his best.
Klokov knows Akkaev will get it at the end, I reckon. That's why he looks kinda mellow.
Again, what's up with the klokov fanboyism? This was one of his best totals in the 105kg class ever. He is a great lifter, but there is a reason why he has taken gold only once: there are better lifters (although only a few).
Georgia is my country and Gia machavariani is great
Klokov:
17:17
33:42
39:58
she is doing great. got a part time job with a few night shifts i think she want to go to school now that she is done with weightlifting, even tho she wants to do a nordic championship to see how she could do in the world championship. maybe we will see her then or not, it would be fun tho. it would please me alot if she did.
you know her ?
btw got the placings all wrong haha, 7th place in beijing
Watching this kinda puts Ilya Ilyins 237 kg in a bit of perspective, him being 10 kg lighter.
These guys have great physiques, I wonder what their training consists of, other than o-lifts ofc
AMAZING
Istomin probably got red-lighed by one of the judges because he barely paused between the clean and the jerk. The rules state that the lifter must stand still between the clean and the jerk, as to avoid deliberate oscillation of the bar.
True.
knee surgery news was confirmed, also akkaev had back surgery. many lifters, MANY lifters tested + in london but these two didnt even go.
@clarence0 his coach gave him an earful, he said he could have broken his arm
There's no confirmation of that, only hearsay. Other sources say he had knee surgery.
what were they doing to the bar when akkaev shouted at them before his final lift? wiping off chalk or something?
@genericname1234
yes, that is Hussain Reza Zadah
Where does a brother get one of those blue/black/white Adidas singlets?

gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood
@shambayati195 Thee guys were clean and jerking well over 200kg. The winner did 232kg. You be trollin'.
is it possible to see the 205 or 210kg snatch on youtube?
kendrick is also 2 weight classes below these guys so comparing them is silly
19:20 holy hell beast right there
These guys crack me up with the faces they make. I swear they look constipated. lol Damn are they strong.
akkaev is a savage.
Look up "BROZKNOWS"on here...and you'll get an idea what world class lifters do.
He will usually answer any question you have about prepping national and world class athletes for competition
Yeah he did. Tested positive for da juice.
He said send me the money we discus in cash...! lol.
ofcourse they are both on steroids, heavily as is everyone on the platform. but I am talking about the career damage a ban would do to one of them
akkaev was ready to go and was interrupted in his concentration
Ofcourse they are positive...they all are. But he is too experienced to forget to cycle off. He had undiagnosed knee injury
31:20 sean schemmel doing weightlifting lol
even if its obvious that you are.. very true
moving to 105kg?
he's going to set more records
I wonder what Klokov wispered to Akkaev at 43:52
Not with intelligent use. There are plenty of older guys with good health who have used steroids all their life (Arnold for example). It's what is required to be the best.
Definatly. You're not the only one who is dissapointed. I would almost feel like asking for a refund if I was you. It is almost like you got robbed. Sorry my friend.
What minute is come dmitry ? :D
What weightclass is this?
He does a lot of benching and other random non-oly related lifts for fun.
they make the weight look fucking easy
41:03 in klokov mind: "f##k you brother!"
god damn it, I really wanted Klokov to win :(
41:46 "PUT THE WEIGHT BACK WHERE YOU FOUND IT"
Unless Mendes is secretly making huge gains, he's far from World Class.
@psl127 recording for his ironmind dvds
38:21 Is that Rezazadeh in the background?
these guys all look like NFL runningbacks/fullbacks
skirts365 Yeah but they end up with fucked up backs, hips, joints etc. I lift 6 days a week. I'm a 2 time state champion powerlifter, and I'm starting to move over to olympic lifting. Akkaev sounds like japanese goku
18:10... I was expecting a push press
33:50

Klokov doesn't use a belt?
no Klokov looks like a Klokov, aka, a god dammed monster lol
44:55 whats klokov saying here?
Аккаев победил, а победителей не судят!
for women.
the American one sounds like Mr. Mackey from south park....mmmmmmmmkay??? haha
41:46 why's Akkaev shouting at the assistants? XD
@HipHopCypher amazon
jcb & cat
Well weightlifting being an Olympic Sport while Crossfit isn't shows what the world thinks of your opinion.
