This is one of the most amazing choreographies in the Indian cinema and perhaps even if compared to Hollywood. The choreography, singing, music and the camera is just outstanding. The choreographers today must watch this and learn the Indian culture, we live in India, make Indian movies, on Indian stories, but adopt the western culture. Its actually a shame on us. Why can't we make Hollywood run after Bollywood and get influenced with us except a few not to forget like Chhama chhama. Be Indian!
I don't know whether this movie is best or not, but your advice is very correct. Today's Indian society lost the taste of Indian culture. India is copying blindly Hollywood while Hollywood admires and respects Bollywood a lot for its originality.

The dance is not Kathak but Bharatnatyam with Tandav mudras. Kathak is rather soft dance with delicate mudras, expression and light foot work. In comparison to Kathak Bharatnatyam is harsh and bending legs work and hard and very visible expressions are found in it.
6:44 but the bols are tabla bols and the multiple sharp circles are kathak other classical dance forms don't have such sharp fast circles in repetition even the footwork looks like kathak and mudras do not belong to any one classical dance form every classical dance forms use the same mudras
Kalpana, Radhike and Phagun are the three films for which OP Nayyarji composed most of the songs with classical lilts. People dubbed his effort as not his and said he borrowed the composition. But he rubbished it and stood tall in composing songs in Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon & Sambandh.
