      Amid the woke nonsense that plagues the Left, there is value and good as well. Best example of that is the current support for Palestinians and the condemnations of genocide towards Israel. Oddly enough, the topic on Israel and Palestine is heavily gatekept in academia by the far Right and Zionists. This might sound counter intuitive and contradictory given the rise in woke and far Left influence in academia and the culture on college campuses shifting strongly towards the Left (some of I'm not particularly proud of), but they are both simultaneously true. So you have both sides taking part in gatekeeping. An odd phenomenon is occurring though where we see "progressive except on Palestine". That's a new occurrence and sheds more insight about who truly holds true power and strong influence in academia and society at large. I'll let you connect those dots.

      I can assure you nobody is being singled out and harassed at these protests, despite the propaganda you may hear from the mainstream media. Criticizing the actions of a state is legit protest. The Zionist snowflakes on campus love to pretend like they are "being harmed". They can cry more. In fact, the only people acting despicable and in bad faith are the Zios. If you cheered when they came for the Convoy people but are complaining about this (or vice-versa) then you’re part of the problem. Supporting crackdowns on dissenters because you personally find them obnoxious only shrinks the Overton window for protesting in general.

    • @Meyers1793
      @Meyers1793 Месяц назад

      The Convoy was allowed to occupy the nation's capital for THREE WEEKS with big truck and make life unbearable for residents and workers of downtown Ottawa, all with the tacit support of the Ottawa Police Service. They were eventually removed, not because they were protesting but because of the harmful method of the protest, which infringed upon the rights of others.

    • @charleswain3221
      @charleswain3221 Месяц назад +1

      I know you think it sounds different when you put it like THAT, but when they evict the campus protesters they’re going to say (1) that it was making life unbearable for other students, and (2) that’s its not an infringement on the protester’s rights because other people have a right to quiet. And you can say that about just about any protest since they all, by definition, interfere with people’s right to quiet.
      I should clarify: when I say crackdown, I don’t just mean police eviction. Some of those convoy people are being sued for hundreds of millions of dollars. The decision to pursue that amount of damages, and the court’s willingness to entertain it, has nothing to do with the unbearable noise levels and everything to do with making an example out of them. We shouldn’t be making examples out of people just because they’re obnoxious, even if some people attach words like “unbearable” to their actions.

      @@mrm1712 Life is a series of trade-offs; a combo-menu, not a la carte. For instance, if people want to live in the political center of the country and enjoy all the benefits and opportunities that it offers, they also need to accept that it’s going to attract dissatisfied groups from time to time. If people want universities to be places that produce new ideas and challenge conventional modes of thinking, we need to accept that it’s going to make people uncomfortable sometimes. And, as a general rule, if we want to enjoy civil liberties like the right to protest and challenge decisions that we disagree with, we need to learn to accept other people’s right to do the same (especially when we completely disagree with the specific cause they’re championing). Either we hang together on things like freedom of assembly and expression or they’ll hang each of us each separately.

Accusations of antisemitism directed at Palestinians and supporters of Palestinian rights are not new and have been a strategy of Israeli government and pro-Israel hasbara for decades.
    One of the most visible iterations of this phenomenon currently is the controversial International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism. Promoted by Israel’s right-wing government and its supporters, and adopted by the U.S. and other western governments, the IHRA definition goes full speed in conflating criticism of Israel and support for Palestinian justice with antisemitism."

It's funny to watch all the non Muslims trying to join the protest, because what the Palestinian protesters want, is Jewish anhilation. But the non Muslims don't even get it.
