I have a great story about the Titanic! (Your stitching of it is beautiful!!) When the Titanic show was in Chicago, my friend and I get tickets for both of our families to go and see it. We were members of the museum at the time so that allowed us to use the lounge and other amenities in the museum. (With our 3 girls and my friend's daughter, we thought the lounge could come in handy when they were tired and needed a snack/rest.) Anyway. We had toured the exhibit and as expected, the kids were crabby and tired and needed a break, so we headed to the lounge. My husband decided to go outside and have a smoke. (By the way, none of us survived the trip! LOL!! We all went down with the ship.) Upon his return, a museum worker stopped my husband and my friend's husband and said that is the lounge for members only. My friend's husband said, without missing a beat, "Do you know who this is? This is Charles Harrington III" (That was the name of the guy on his Titanic card!!) The worker said to him "Oh, I'm sorry Mr. Harrington. Please enjoy the lounge." LOL!! When we go to hotels or need dinner reservations we often use the Harrington name. LOL!!! (PS. LOVE your four seasons and the fisherman. Birds of a Feather is my favorite designer ever!!)

Hi friends! I loved the Titanic exhibit recap. I definitely went through a Titanic phase as a child, and a few years ago, we visited the museum in Branson, MO. It was so interesting! Beautiful stitching, as always, and Pam, your Teresa Wentzler chart purchase is so neat! I laughed at Steph's comment about framing a partially finished piece, but I get it 🤣 I hope you're having a great Monday. Happy stitching! 💜

Beautiful stitching ladies!! You need to visit us in Nova Scotia. Our Atlantic Museum has a amazing Titanic display. As Nova Scotia is one of the closer land masses to where the titanic sank we are blessed with a lot of items from the ship. There is a graveyard where some of the bodies are buried. So much history!

In July a friend of mine and I saw the exhibit in Seattle. Sounds like they have more than one going at the same time. I have always a been obsessed with the Titanic. My grandfather had a ticket. But turned it in to go later on a ship that was cheaper. He was meeting his sisters in Canada. They saved for many years to pay for his ticket. He came over May of 1912 and met my grandmother in Canada. My mother was also Canadian and never became an American citizen.

I attended the Titanic exhibit in Columbus this Summer for work (I am a nanny). The recreation of the grand entrance was lovely wasn’t it?!
There were 3 of us who attended together and we all had different reactions. The youngest child (8) was FASCINATED by the sheer size of the ship and its artifacts. As well as the list of names of those who perished vs who survived. The older child (11) was positive it was a hoax due to the great condition of many artifacts under glass lol! I found the event terribly sad and the idea of it terrifying. I was holding back crying (not well mind you) the entire time. Only to cry on the drive home while they happily played with their memorabilia from the gift shop in the back seat. Glad you had the opportunity to see it! (P.S- First class female survivor from Michigan who was pregnant on her honeymoon. Though sadly she did lose the baby afterwards and she herself died tragically just a couple of years following the Titanic).

My husband’s grandmother, aunt and uncle were on the Titanic. Addie, Joan and Ralph Wells. They were coming to Akron, Ohio to join his grandfather who had been here 2 years working for Goodyear. If you would like more info, send me a message and I’d be happy to share our story 👍😎 Happy stitching!! ❤

I remember years ago when my son was little, I went to a Titanic Exhibit in Atlantic City. It was really cool and the thing I remember most about it was putting my hand on the ice wall where they said it was the same temperature as the water the people were in. I remember that I couldn’t even hold my hand on it for more than a few seconds. It was so cold! Another great episode tonight - can’t wait for the next Stitch Con! I loved the chat about "mooing" at the ballgame. I am a big Orioles fan - watch almost every single game via MLB app. So, my story: I have some Hey Dude Cow Prints shoes. I live in Wisconsin and people stop me all the time to check out my shoes - thinking I got them because Wisconsin is the cheese state. You should try explaining Colton Cowser, the Milkman, and mooing to people who are not Oriole fans..... anyway, good luck to your team and mine! By the way, I never carried a "knapsack" to school, but when I went to first grade in 1959, I carried a " plaid book satchel". I suppose Steph never dialed a phone number that started with two letters followed by five numbers, either.

I have one from 1992 that I also stitched - I think I got caught up in an anniversary or something. Anyway, after years of looking at it hanging in the nautical themed powder room, I gave it to my sister. I wouldn't say it was especially grand at all (my sister loves it but what does she know) and would love to gift it to you. It is by Jeanie A Attenhofer - hand drawn chart. I am sure she put a lot of love into designing it and I did put my heart into stitching it - but never again. Hang ten.
