    I have a Stihl FS80 2 stroke and a 128LD 2 stroke and I’ve never had to get my 128LD serviced but my stihl has had to have the cylinder head rebuilt a 2 times. Everybody has a different experience with their equipment.

      This is my experience with my Sthil that I spent 489$ on. Both repairs cost me $200 because ethanol ruined my trimmer even when I tried to buy ethanol free gas...there is nearly 3 gallons of cheap 87/89 octane gas in the pump and hose from the last person. This means for a 2.2 gallon can you are getting all 89 octane gas with ethanol in it while you paid premium fee for ethanol free gas. And it will ruin the gaskets and seals in the Sthil. This guy is a Sthil fan boy without looking at the facts.

    it’s not a 4 stroke. It’s a 4-mix. Which has way more torque and is made for more tall grass. A 4-mix is essentially a 2 stroke with overhead valves. And it also still takes fuel mix 50:1. No oil fill. In 4 strokes you don’t use fuel mix. You use normal gas. How does no one know this?😅 lol

    Don't know how this is a fair comparison. If you're gonna compare a stihl vs that hucky 128ld, be better off using the fs56, or use the 525 series to compare to the fs91r. Comparing a low mid grade residential trimmer to a professional trimmer isn't equal.

    • @DiscoveringHisWay
      @DiscoveringHisWay  2 года назад

      Bro these units cost roughly the same price. That’s why I am comparing them. Dollar for dollar STIHL wins! Hope that makes sense! FS91 R kills Husqvarna 128.

    • @ianmcdermitt6295
      @ianmcdermitt6295 2 года назад +4

      @@DiscoveringHisWay no it don't make sense. You're still comparing a residential trimmer vs a pro. The 128ld is currently going for $240 in my area, similar price to the fs56 which is going for $220. While the fs91r is going for $349 right now and the comparable husqvarna 525l is going for $339. Again in my area. Husqvarna made this trimmer to compete with the fs56 and the echo srm225 because it's a homeowner trimmer. So yes in your comparison the stihl wins, id hope so since it's a pro trimmer. If you're saying that stihl wins overall because of this review then sorry but thats a bad way of putting it.

      Don't know why you're bringing up the stihl fs240. Plus most people have no need for one that big, even professionals unless you plan on doing thick brush cutting or thick tall grass. The stihl fs91r, 111r, and 131r are the right trimmer for most people. Husqvarna has there 525 and 535 series that compete with the stihl models and echo has the 2620 and 3020 series, in normal and T models. Makes it more of a fair comparison. I've had all 3 of the big name trimmers and there all great, and of course they each have there good things and bad.

If you wanna do a more fair comparison get a 525LST and it will smoke that 91.... "Husqvarna doesn't have the technology " lol. If memory serves me correctly the STIHL FS91R is a 4mix not a true 4 stroke. While it does have a 4 stroke cycle it still uses 2 stroke mix gas hence the 4mix designation. Just wanted to throw that out in case some average homeowner like me assumed 4 stroke and 4 mix were the same thing. Serious engine damage would occur in short order if regular gasoline were to be fed to a 4mix machine.

With all the places the tiny amount of oil mixed with the gasoline has to travel; I wish it was 40:1 mix just to be on the safe side. You also have to pay attention to letting them idle a little bit more than usual to let them cool down in very hot conditions.

But, after getting it home and trying it out. It’s a sweetheart! Easy to pull the starter. Amazingly no blue smoke! It doesn’t wind up like a 2 cycle. But, it has so much torque. I am not sure. But, I think they use less fuel. They do run a little hotter than the 2cycle. So, running it hard a suddenly shutting it off. Probably isn’t a good idea. My point? Thanks for sharing and showing the public what a good product you’re getting for not that much more money. Probably saving money in terms of fuel and repairs.

In 2023 all of them are made as cheap as possible in my opinion. I worked a few years ago, for a large landscaping contractor, who had contracts to cut roads and highways for the state and were cutting the property of many different business including Walmart. When I started they had all Steil products, but by the time I left they were about half Steil and half Husqvarna. The last time I saw one of their trucks go by, they had replaced all the Steil stuff with Husqvarna. Even before I left, when we pulled up to a job sight, guys would race getting out of the trucks to get first choice on weed eaters. Everyone was choosing Husqvarna over Steil and that's a fact. They all figured out that the Husqvarnas were lighter weight and more comfortable for long periods and cut just as good.

Also this is not an apples to apples comparison. 128 is a homeowner unit and the fs90/91 is the most popular professional unit out there .I own and sell both products and. neither make cheap stuff. Stihl trimmers are somewhat better but sometimes a lil bulkier and heavier. Husky makes the best saws IMO. unit to unit it varies tho. Both top of the line brands. Its like Honda vs Toyota kinda lol. I would never say one company is better than the other overall because its not true. The 91r threw me off guard because it’s a 4 stroke but requires 50:1 gas n oil mix? There’s no separate oil reservoir for the crank so you can just put straight gas in the fuel tank?

    Anyone with any sense or even a slight grasp of knowledge on tools should know this video is full of misinformation and a cheap shot at Husqvarna. He's comparing a commercial grade Stihl trimmer(around $400) to a homeowner grade Husqvarna($around 200 dollars). A cheap trimmer you can get at Lowe's that's ideal for lighter use. A fair comparison would be a *commercial* grade Husqvarna to the FS91 Stihl. Some models of the Husqvarna would be a 525LST, or a 430LS... this would be a much different video if so. I run Stihl, Echo, and Husqvarna (all commercial) and 9 times out of 10 I'm grabbing Husq... so for the poster of this video and to others out there, learn the difference between tool grades when making any comparison!!!
