    I love the random backflips/hops on Acro from the torque reaction.

    Swerve shuffle drive might be just the coolest drivetrain I've seen. Just needs three more.

    a weapon anything like vars' is something i've never even thought of at all (let alone making it viable) and not to mention the idea of a shuffling swerve drive too is some insane creativity. all your bots are simply cool and amazing and hope to see more content. extremely glad i found this channel

      @@PotatoCreami also might recommend putting supports on the back like the ones Deep Six used

    ALL THESE ARE YOURS??
    All very different very unique ideas with a ton of potential? You may well be my new #1 builder to watch for

      Yes I made them (over some time) and I appreciate the support. Thanks!

    Awesome driving and having a diversity in bits is fun to watch.
    Keep it up

    you could probably add rubber cement or cut up rubber tires to put on wayward's shuffling system
    edit- just saw the stuff your friend gave you for wayward 😅

      Rubber cement definitely sounds like what I need. The stuff I got just didn't adhere correctly. I'll look into it!

    I’m curious to know how you programmed the N20s so you could control where the wheels were pointing at any given time. What programs and electronics did you use?

    • @PotatoCream
      @PotatoCream  4 месяца назад +1

      No fancy programming was implemented. It's pretty much the same as you would control any other standard tank drive. Only difference is that maybe the controller inputs would be slightly mapped differently for the outputs. For instance, in a tank drive both motors would need to move forwards to drive straight, but in the swerve system, the motors would need to operate against each other to drive straight. Pretty much special software was unnecessary (But definitely would have helped make driving easier!)
      As for electronics (it's just like a regular tank drive) so just a beefy dual brushed esc to supply the current I needed for driving two pairs of n20s, a standard fs2a for the controller receiver, and a brushless esc for the weapon motor.
      In the future for knowing where to point automatically, I would try to implement something like an encoder to measure the swerve's orientation to the bot and a gyroscope to measure the entire bot relative to the arena so I would know which way to face. Since it was just manually driven

    i notice that your bots print weapons with a lot of walls. Wouldn't printing with an infill pattern make delamination harder?

    • @PotatoCream
      @PotatoCream  4 месяца назад +2

      Really depends but there a some factors that can affect it. I think mainly for me, I was underextruding so my wall lines were not properly sticking to each other. Using an infill pattern also helps and I only really used purely walls on one of my bots that had that issue you saw.

    maybe you could make a vertical spinner without any wheels or a shuffler system that only moves by reaction torque.

    • @PotatoCream
      @PotatoCream  5 месяцев назад +2

      Intriguing ideas, but I want to try to decouple my weapon from my movement since I want to have a dedicated system to drive the way I want. I do plan on trying to make shuffler version of Acro to possibly spend that bonus weight on a more rigid weapon and possibly adapt it to outside compeitions.

    do you think a bot with a design similar to acro could be possible with a steel ring at the beetleweight level? honestly i doubt it but i'd like to hear your perspective

      I'm in the works for making a 3lb Acro soon so we will find out!

      No I haven't before. I think I would need to compete in regular open ant competitions which unfortunately my schedule and location makes a bit awkward.
