Not having Irish blood is not important, this song is known worldwide and is in fact an English Ballad written by Fredrick Weatherly, nothing in the least to do with Ireland.
@@georgebarnes8163 Just to clear things up and avoid a wrong impression, Fredrick Weatherly certainly wrote the words of Danny Boy, but a song consists of more than just the words and the music is certainly Irish and is not known as “The Derry Air” for nothing. Weatherly set his ballad to the music, even altering it to fit in with the tune.

@@timhoulihan3310 There is no evidence the "The Londonderry Air" was Irish, it is credited to a Scotswoman called Jane Ross but no-one knows who wrote the music, I have heard all sorts of tourist stories from the little men at the bottom of the garden through 3 legged dogs to one eyed deaf fiddlers all of which claim to be the authors but no-one knows for sure.

I think you know why, but I shall tell you anyway. Sweet Emma Sophia was brought into a world full of strife and discord. That is putting it mildy, eh? I am now 70 and my father would be 111 if still alive. He died at age 80 in 1990. He always had great love for children and was deeply saddened when he saw news reports when little ones suffered. Imagine what he would think and feel today. 😢 Emma's mama Mary has become a good friend of mine on Facebook. Ireland looks so Beautiful. I was their for only 90 minutes as a stop over before going to Germany when I was in the US Army. We went into the Bar in Shannon airport. At least I can say I lifted a few in Ireland.

Ms. Clarke; this was recorded just a few days before Emma Sophia's dear parents filmed this; in March of this year. Her mother Mary and Emma also recorded an 8 episode show during the lockdown. I have watched half of them, and need to finish very soon. Why are you referring to her as a "young lady?" She is a wee girl! A young lady would be a teenager, close to adulthood. I prefer the word woman, as "lady" brings to mind old fashioned women before the Suffragettes started the first Women's Movement. Those women wore white gloves and sat around sipping tea, until they stopped being ladies and started a REVOLUTION!

A great singer in the making! She really masters the tune's dynamic at such an early age and even if she doesn't reach all the high notes, she never goes out of tune. I love the Celtic strings and the piano really listens to her!
