    GO:KEYS 3 make me feel like "sitting in a piano".
    But CK-61 make me feel like "sitting in a saloon with piano", so naturally.

      Would you do a piano sound comparison demo between XPS-30 and Go Keys 3?
      I love the sounds of both, but for some reason I don't like some aspect of their piano sounds, and I couldn't figure it out what exactly, I haven't seen any demos like that yet, I know they are not the same league, but in terms of sounds, I think somewhat similar (at leaat in my mind, both have a lot of excellent sounds, except pianos)
      Thank you.

    I have a Casio CT-S1 the action is not bad for traditional acoustic piano playing when the Touch response is set to Heavy. I'm hearing reports that the Go Keys 3 and 5 action response does not enable easy control over all the levels from soft touch to heavy touch that pianists use (dynamics pp-ff).
    The Acoustic Piano 1 sounds are subjective and more or less acceptable on all these models. Of particular notice to me is the Rhodes ('70s Electric Piano) on the new Go Keys 3 and 5.

    • @ochisalat
      @ochisalat  7 месяцев назад +2

      Yes, I also felt that a bit, I happened to have Casio CTS400 (I guess the same keybed as CT-S1) I think the keybed is better on CTS400 than Go Keys 3, the Go Keys 3 feels a little plasticky,kind of cheaper built than the one in CTS400 & I also struggling to get the dynamic/velocity right, probably I should spend more time with the instrument to adapt with the action..

    This is exactly what ive been looking for. I am deciding between gokeys 5 and ck61. I like the idea of drums and the zen sound engine and a cheaper price, but the CK has the drawbar function and ease of use for altering sounds and fx. Especially the faders for split/layers. Leaning towards the CK for the real use functionality of playing on stage. The gokeys seems not very friendly for live sound adjustments. Also the main core sounds of piano, ep, organ seem better on CK, while synth sounds are where the gokeys excells.

    • @rizkipuruze
      @rizkipuruze 7 месяцев назад +4

      I wanna mention that the draw bar can also send midi for future proof if one day you decide to play more sounds variety on PC to control VST app with ease and not getting stuck with only mouse or only knobs to control VST on the fly. I'm with the CK88. It's a good instrument.

    I had Yamaha CK61 vs Roland GO keys 5 vs Yamaha PSR E473. Best speakers PSR E473, others had similar. CK61 pianos are average. I was dissapointed, but CK88 with hammer action has better felling of pianos. CK61 had best options to setup with knobs, other sounds perfect.GO keys 5 has weak speakers, but tolerable, you need amp for louder sound, best for djs and fun….So for now I have GO keys 5 and I like them. CK61 are very good, but CP61 are much better.

      Very nice 👍 I've tried PSR E473 several times & I don't really like the sounds, maybe because I already have SX600 and S970. I also don't have a chance to try Go Keys 5 because in my country it isn't available yet. Maybe the speaker is better because I think there are additional speakers compared to Go Keys 3. But for sound quality according to my taste & musical need CK61 is a whole lot better 👍

    • @jjacob25101

      Yes. The Go Keys 5 is great, considering it's similar to the FP-E50 without the 88 weighted keys at half the price, of that and the CK61, and the CK61 is an actual 61 note stage piano per Yamaha. Great sounds and controls, effects and higher quality construction. I still want one, but after I get the Go:Keys 5, I may not need the FP-E50, just the CK-61 unless I need the 88 weighted keys.

    I'm trying to decide between the Yamaha PSRE W425 (the 76 key version of the 473) and the Roland Go Keys 5. Which do you think has the better build quality as far as durability and maybe still being useful after the next 5 years?

    • @abath07
      @abath07 6 месяцев назад +2

      More than a slightly better action. With a Casio CT-S1 set the Touch to Heavy and you can play its piano very expressively.

    • @PianoMan-hx3ev
      @PianoMan-hx3ev 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@abath07What about the sounds? It’s zen core vs Aix, and rather hard to get the drill down on the differences. 😮

    • @abath07
      @abath07 6 месяцев назад +5

      The best piano sound ever means nothing if it doesn’t respond well to the key action. The Casio CT series piano sound is very good and “Zen Core” is a great marketing name… the Rhodes is nice in the Zen but the piano is not that great at all, IMO. I am beyond worrying about which is better, it’s all about action and behavior (dynamic response pp-mp-mf-ff etc) for me. And the Casio wins in year key area (tip: set the Touch level to Heavy). Several fine pianists have told me they cannot play solo piano in the Go Keys 3 action but can on the Casio CT-S1 action which I already own and agree is suited for piano. So the Go Keys 3 is off my list.

    • @ochisalat
      @ochisalat  6 месяцев назад +2

      @@abath07I think if your first priority is the key action than the Casio it is! I must admit that when I first play the Go Keys 3 I played quite many wrong notes 😄 Don't get me wrong, I'm an experienced keyboardist & have played so many key action from Yamaha acoustic grand piano to Korg Microkorg, but getting difficulty in adapting to Go Keys 3's keybed, I guess that is because the shallow press & slow bounce back of the key action..

      Mantap mas. Saya aja pilih ck88 setelah malang melintang milih antara mx88, juno ds88, dgx 670, korg kross 88 dll, arturia essential 88, m-audio hammer pro 88.
      Ada yg soundnya ribuan tapi gak ada speaker buat easy quick play.
      Ada yg bisa arranger tapi gak ada colokan midi in out buat future proof connection.
      Ada yg bisa step sequencer tapi kalo live use suaranya sering cut off kalo pindah sound.
      Ada keyboard yg gak ada suara sama sekali dan harus selalu colok PC buat akses jutaan sound lewat DAW dan VST. Tapi kalo lagi jauh sama pc gak guna nih keyboard (midi controller).
      Ada yang built in drum kit sounds tapi ya buat apa dul. Kalo buat rekaman di PC udah banyak VST drum sound.
      Ane lebih suka type arranger sebenarnya tapi pengennya yg 88 tuts tapi di budget ane itu banyak banget pangkasan fitur. Ada yg fiturnya bagus tapi cuma 61 tuts. Ada pun yg bagus cuma Korg PA5x 88 tapi 60jtan, gila.
      Akhirnya pilih CK aja yg kurang ini itu tinggal colok PC bisa jadi semuanya. Tinggal pilih VST yg pas.
      Yg bikin ane suka CK series itu live sets, jadi kalo udah di panggung. Gak panik nyari2 dulu sound yg pas. Makanya variasi suaranya dikit. Kalo ribuan suaranya makin panik nyari2 nya. Apalagi harus menu diving.
      Terus suka juga stereo input. Selain itu bisa colok gitar listrik bisa efek distorsi pake keyboard aja.
      Walaupun semua jenis keyboard bisa untuk live stage. Asal persiapannya harus sudah matang sebelum ke panggung. Tapi type stage keyboard memang dirancang lebih enak untuk quick jam macam cafe, resto untuk khususnya jenis lagu2 yang hanya butuh basic2 sound pengiring tanpa harus sounds yg unik. Yg ketika ada request lagu dari client bisa lebih cepet milih dan gak harus mirip2 suaranya. Tapi CK ini kurang pas buat request lagu dangdut campur sari atau koplo. Itu mah lagu2 kelasnya keyboard arranger. Wkwk

    Nice video. I presently have the original Go:Keys and a Casio CT-S1, along with a Roland JD-Xi and Yamaha PSS-A50.
    I was planning to get a CK61 which is great, with the four original Reface Mini key sounds and a whole lot more, with all the accessible controls on the main panel.
    I also was going to get the Roland FP-E50, which was $1,000 USD like the CK61, but they dropped the price to $900.
    But along with the new Roland RD-08, a less expensive, expandable version of the RD-88, the released this awesome Go:Keys 3 at the same price of the original Go:Keys I have, but both, as well as the CT-S1 only have the ⅛" single stereo headphone audio output, whereas the Go:Keys 5 has dual ¼" audio outputs, better speakers and a microphone input with voice effects and vocorder.
    Essentially, for $150 more than the Original version and the 3, the 5 has almost what the $900 FP-E50 has, without the 88 weighted keys.

      Wow.. what a great comparation, I guess you have done your homework in selecting your next gear eh? 😄 CK61 has a lot to offer, I think you won't be dissapointed with it, but as for me I won't compare 61 with 88 keys instrument, first I'll check what is my priority/need at the moment. I also wanted to buy the original Go Keys in the first place, of course second handed but unfortunately some people who sold the unit offered the units in quite high price which I think it's a better choice to just opt for the new version of Go Keys 😁 in my country the Go Keys 5 has not released yet so I bought the Go Keys 5,in fact my strong reason to choose Go Keys 3 instead of 5 is the color! LoL the white Go Keys 5 will be overlapping with my white Korg Kross 2 & Korg M3, so far I have not dissapointed but the more I played it I think this is the Roland's version of Casio CTS 400

      @@ochisalat I am older and have been in music most of my life, I regret not sticking with piano when I was young, but played clarinet in school band from very young until I graduated, but it's not my profession, so more than a musician, which I am studying more now, I am much more a sound and gear technician and very familiar with Roland gear and now some of the other gear from Yamaha, Casio and other companies.
      So, I plan well for what I need, which right now, the Go:Keys will be perfect for my next stage, before I get the CK61 and FP-E50.
      I know the 61 is great and is a true stage piano, albeit with 61 note weighted keys. I know there is a marked difference between a 61 note synth or semi weighted key bed and a weighted 88 note instrument, including the two extra octaves. But not everyone is a formal piano player or familiar with playing 88 weighted keys, so the CK61 or Go:Keys will be fine.
      The original Go:Keys has been discounted recently because of the release of the Go:Keys 3 at the same original price. But you may be able to find a good used one at a better price.
      But you already have the Go:Keys 3, CK61 and other instruments, unless they are on loan for your reviews and videos. If you like the colors, great for you. The 5 has the slightly improved speakers, the microphone input w/ vocal effects/vocorder, and true dual ¼" audio out jacks, which is the most important feature, unless you want the microphone. If you can work with the single stereo ⅛" headphone jack and have the proper adapters to hook up to an amplifier or external speakers, your Go:Keys 3 should be fine.
      You can always get the 5 and sell the 3 later. And yes, the Go:Keys is pretty much an equivalent of the Casio CT-S500, the latest version, which is great, too, and the Go:Keys 5 is the same for the CT-S1000V to an extent, and the prices are about the same, but the Go:Keys 3/5 have much more updated features and sound expansion options available.
      With the Go:Keys 5, I may not need to get the FP-E50 until I need the 88 not weighted keys, so I can get the CK61 first. But the Go:Keys 5 is perfect in price at this point.

      I disagree, and have owned many keyboards. There is different concept of sound, but for piano, Yamaha over Roland. For synth, maybe Roland over Yamaha. But when it comes to actual functionality and ability to use in real gig, the go keys is not useable. It is a good cheap home practice keyboard. That is not a bad thing, but it is specific for that. The CK is for live playing, which is why it's classified as a stage keyboard. It's meant to compete with Crumar Mojo 61 and Nord stage. These are different audiences who want a keyboard. Both are good value, but if it is just to practice at home, go for Roland.

    • @rizkipuruze

      Your type is sound explorer guy. Go with any workstation keyboard or arranger keyboard as you like.
      But for stage keyboard. Most of this type is lack of sound variations but more of knobs and faders for quick sound tweaking on the live stage. Sometimes player has all the stress on stage and can't deal with menu diving all the time for checking sound on stage to your preference. Check out the list of all stage keyboard available and you'll understand.
      The only way to add more sound variety to stage keyboard is via midi controller to control VST app on PC. They're much more capable to get millions of better sound. Check out Kontak Player 7 or Arturia Lab type of VST.

      @@rizkipuruze I have all those things, but don't want to haul a laptop, interface and run kontakt to play a gig. I did that before and it is too much crap. I want a keyboard to play basic sounds and be able to adjust on the fly. I don't want sequencers and arpeggiators, and pre- made rhythm like from old Lowry organs. It may be nice to those extras, but portability and good interface is better for me.

      I have both of them at home. Yamahas CK61 acoustic pianos are not good as you said, other sounds are perfect. Why they made this? Because you need to buy CP61 which is better, but the price is higher. GO keys 5 is different world, comparing them is like apples and peas. Pianos are not better, kind of similar, yamaha has more better options. If people need stage performing, than CK61. If they need fun and djs creativity, than GO keys 5. But if you are willing about great acoustic pianos, sorry, you need CP/CY 61…
