Another view of the magnificent Military Musical Spectacular, with an excellent Band playing beautiful music! Thank you M.E. for the video, another good job! Nice evening!
1:45 The march "When The Guards Are On Parade" has lyrics written by Leslie Sarony. There's a lilting thrum of the rolling drum, As it echoes thro' the air, There's a blaze of red, With an even tread, And an instrumental blare, There's a flash and a glint of steel, As orders are obeyed, When the Guards... are on parade. When the Guards are on parade, In their uniforms arrayed, "What the Blankerty Blank" says the sergeant Do you think you're in? It's not the Boys Brigade" When the Guards are on parade, And the band is being played, Bayonets are flashing The sergeants teeth are gnashing When the guards are on parade. "Left! Left!" Hark to the tramp of the feet, List'to the beating if the drum Look! Look! Look at the crowd in the street Waving and shouting, Here they come "Guards Halt!" Never a one with a fault, See how they stand, As stiff as starch, "Parade Shun! Slope Arms! By the right quick march!
Looks like the sound engineer collects so-called belt packs from the percussion section. The devices are small battery powered sender/receiver units and are regularly used for concerts or TV productions.
The first was Scotland the brave & black bear March, followed by When the Guards are on Parade. When the Guards are on parade in their uniforms arrayed as the Sergeant screams this isn't the boys brigade.
It's held annually at Horseguards during the summer and is advertised in various places including MOD websites, by the bands themselves etc. it's always at Horseguards in London although military bands do hold smaller events around the world in summer months outdoors and indoors across the year. You may also enjoy the Mountbatten Festivals in March at the Royal Albert Hall every year with the Royal Marines bands doing another great job raising money for charities as this event does.
How? You can't starve horses or have a catcher strapped to them. Street cleaner machinery would affect the performances even if the streets could be cleared before the bands or companies return. Even if someone goes with a shovel you need a tractor or something to pull a trailer. Yes you could have a horse and cart but that might add to the mess as well as timing issues. I'm sure any other ideas would be gratefully received but suggest that it's natural and grass mostly as an ex horse owner and military band musician.
He may be relatively new or having a bad day. He's human! Pipers are not necessarily full time musicians so won't get the same amount of practice. Some pipers also are tank crews and the like during the rest of their time. Overall the musicians of all kinds do a great job of playing and marching whilst trying to keep straight lines etc no matter how long they have been working beforehand remembering as soldiers they operate on a 25 hour basis and do other jobs like camp security etc.

Great viewpoint. Who was that person that ran up to the drummer at 3:22 and what happened?
it appears the drummer handed something to the man I don't know what but it almost seemed like part of his uniform or drum harness came off

Who knows the marches

When exactly did this take place I'd love to have gone?

@@markdebuisseret3968 I know where it is held but when?
I would think , by now, someone could figure out the horse poop dilemma.

One of the pipers can't march 🤦🏼

@@markdebuisseret3968 All soldiers are trained to march "in step" !

Who was the clown in-between the band on the march off.
Too me , all looks like a lot of outdated rubbish.
