- Today we take a look at DEADPOOL by Daniel Way Vol 1 Omnibus! Deadpool is Way cool! By which we mean, Daniel Way cool! One of Wade Wilson's wildest writers begins his riotous run in this Omnibus volume packed with Merc madness. And he dives straight in at the deep end with a brutal throwdown against Wolverine! Then, the Skrulls have invaded Earth - but nobody warned them about Deadpool! So why does that mean Wade's going to war with Norman Osborn and his new team of bloodthirsty, black-ops Thunderbolts? Next, Deadpool wants to be an X-Man - and he's not going to let anyone stand in his way. Not even the X-Men. And while he's being sociable, why not a good old-fashioned team-up with Spider-Man? All this plus Hit-Monkey - the hitman who is a monkey!

I think I would prefer the less zany deadpool from the older titles. My first exposure to character was in the old X-men Legends games and from what I remember, he wasn't that off the wall. The films were alright but not quite my style of humor.
My favorite style of Deadpool is in the Rick Remender Uncanny X-Force run it’s a good mix.
I’d get this for Wolverine: Origins alone. Huge fan of Steve Dillon’s artwork. And what’s with Hit Monkey in the book? Haha

Hit Monkey actually is a creation from Daniel Way, the Deadpool's writer from this omnibus.
Great review. I'm not a huge fan of Deadpool but after this review I may have to give this material a try.
It was a lot of fun… I like Deadpool material simply for the fact it’s never to serious. It’s good to take a break here and then with something goofy and fun.

I’m a fan of the old school merc with a mouth. Somewhere along the line the fourth wall breaking and chimichangas and all that became to much. Love the art work in this book though for sure and don’t look like a bad read even if it ain’t “my Deadpool” haha
Word that style of Deadpool will always be the GOAT! But I do like stupid Deadpool for some reason 😂
