@Rene, I know, that's how it SHOULD be. In fact despite the fact the relatives on my mom's side were, for the most part, republicans. While my dad's side were staunch democrats. It made for some interesting (and heated) conversations at family gatherings, for real. The one thing I admired about my mom is, she refused to vote for anyone based solely on their partisan affiliation. Sadly Trump and his MAGA cronies and sheep, who blindly follow without question, have affected the GOP unfavorably. The party isn't the same as it was even as recently as 10 years ago. Pre Trump era, it seemed there was more willingness to compromise, more bi-partisan efforts and so on. Now, it's like BOTH SIDES will disagree, fight each other, object, filibuster etc etc not because it's in the best interest of the people who elected them, but because they oppose one another. (albeit seems like GOP does it to a greater degree. There are the more moderate republicans but there's this MAGA faction, which appears to be gaining control and growing (,the Lauren Bobo's, MT Green, Matt Gaetz and the like, who appear to care less about the constitution, democracy or serving those who elected them and more about their image, attention from the media. They have no problem lying to the media, the people, the police or FBI even under oath. Some also appear to have a toxic, egocentric if not downright dangerous agenda

JR tells it like it is. Gotta love it! I admire that man. I hope he can win his battle with cancer. My step brother had what sounds like a similar type of cancer about 12 or 13 years and,, to the best of my knowledge, he's been cancer free ever since.
Raskin is a strong man. I had the same cancer treatment for lymphoma as the one Raskin is undergoing. I was exhausted. How he does it is beyond me. By the way many recover from this kind of cancer. Mine is in full remission.

So strange, though, to hear some talking head on Fox saying "no one lives there", insulting states that are mostly red. I kinda get how that feels, because most national politicians and "elites" treat everything between Buffalo and Albany, NY, as "flyover country." It's a whole lot more beautiful here, and in Montana, than any teeming anthill of a city.
Jamie Raskin is a true statesman, his devotion could not be more apparent. Such integrity is a rare and beautiful thing.
Raskin has had his share of suffering, and he still gives his energies to America. A great man. Prayers out to this patriot.
