I use my Patchy to help with the kid's Monday school projects, just have the child or teen click on him and ask for help while working on it. He also cleans my house which is pretty awesome, and its a good way to ensure you can send your sim to school or work in a focused mood because its so quick to 'ask for gardening tips' and then ponder the chess board to override any competing moodlets. And when I get sick of him he goes and lives in the inventory for a while. It's a good system.

I infect my vampire with Virus from Strangeville and their thirst will automatically full each night at the expense of being possessed for a few hours. A much better solution for Sims that don't want to be prejudiced for sucking blood.

yeah he seems to cycle through a few traits, ive had klepto ones, family oriented ones, and a few others ( i like patchy a lot lol. any weird character like him or grim or the selvadoradian skeletons i just gotta have in a my household) i would definitely try it again, or if youre not opposed to mods or cheating just add him to household and change it via MCCC
My Patcy(s) typically are a great help, particularly in households with several small kids... he can even help take care of toddlers(sometimes they will ask him for help, others he will go to help the kids or infants automatically).

I had a Slob Patchy. My garden is surrounded by a fence so I thought everything would be fine if I just locked the back door, but then he started digging out my trash out of the large bin. I ended up deleting him
I also wanted to point out that if you have one household that adds patchy to family, the other patchys that are on different lots will be the same patchy from that household when brought to life. Same thing with the grim reaper AI. If you don't mess with the games mode on them, they will still be the same. When I added a different colored patchy to another lot, he came to life as the one I had already added to family from another household. Hope I'm making sense lmao. You can have babies with him but you can't get married to him I have noticed. You can only do that in edit mode. He can only go as far as being a boyfriend.
Patchy is just a normal sim with a costume. He is bald, by the way :D Use the cloning machine to add him (his clone) to the family. It will bug out, eventually, but you will have enough time to look at him better. Didn't tried to make a baby with him (clone) though.
Just came from your new video about adding depth to TS4 - patchy would've been the perfect way to add depth, like they did with father winter. patchy's kids could have a green thumb trait or something more humorous! Such a missed opportunity :(

Great question, Lisa. I went and tested it and yes, you can put him in any clothes you want... but doing this is kind of breaking the game or rather revealing how he is worked in. He's just a regular Sim with the patchy suit for every possible outfit. He's more 'magical' not being in your household. My 'Patchy' is a bald man with no name - it's blank and wants you to fill it in if you go to plan outfits with him. You can also only see 1 trait on him - family oriented in my case. One last thing. I made a mistake in the guide. You CAN try for baby with patchy if you cheat him into your household, but it is basically going to go off this bald Sim's genetics. In a way I am technically correct given there is no special punkin-head genetics going into the mix but rather the genetics of the rather average Sim who wears the patchy suit. More traits can be added to "patchy" when you use the cas.fulleditmode cheat but it's not necessary to change his outfits.

I have not played with Patchy yet, but because of your video I will be putting him onto a lot of my families lots so thank you for this video. I was also thinking that maybe Patchy only has so many seed packed available and when he's out he is just out of them? Maybe it can be tested by counting how many times you are able to get seed packets before it stops with multiple Patchys?
My sim had a baby with Patchy because of a mod I suppose. The first thing he did when he hopped off the stump is Try for baby. I thought nothing of it until I saw the sim thowing up in the same bush they woohooed in. No pumpkin head but the kid had red hair.
Has anyone with Eco Lifestyle tried placing Patchy in a community garden? Would he start taking care of the community garden if one of my sims socializes enough with him? And would he then keep gardening there each day no matter which one of my sims is visiting the lot?
What would happen if you had multiple Patchys on the same lot? would they all come to life at the same time or can only one patchy be walking around at a time. if you enclosed them all in your garden would they be the perfect slave force to keep your garden fresh?

You're spot on. I made a mistake. You CAN try for baby with him but, it's kind of not meant to be which is how I made that mistake... it's only when you add to family via cheating. Patchy becomes a rather generic looking Sim when added to your household (which can be seen in plan outfits) with only 1 trait slot and since he's technically just wearing the patchy suit you get as a reward, it is possible to redress him. Still I wish there was a challenge to get to make a baby with patchy and have little orange headed toddlers running around. One thing came to mind.. Wonder if the patchy suit protects from the elements the way the beekeeper one does. I think I saw in the code you're immune to heat/cold death wearing that thing. Patchy has only 1 trait by default but more can be added with cas.fulleditmode
I wondered about the hot/cold immunity as well with his suit. I honestly think it doesn't really count if you add Patchy to household then have a baby, once you add him to household he's technically not Patchy anymore so you are correct that you can't have a baby with Patchy (the NPC Patchy, but yes with the add to household with CAS.fulleditmode Patchy, which isn't really a true Patchy once you do that). It would have been adorable to have little pumpkin tots running around, and could have been hilarious to have a bassinet with a pumpkin in it for Patchy's baby LOL . I wish it could be possible for someone to mod it where that could happen. And that is strange about the one trait thing. Thank you again for responding, and for all your hard work! My patchy harvesting all my corps. I thought it's gonna directly go to my inventory but when I checked my inventory it's empty so I sold him.

I used mods to make Patchy a mafia Don and he is a cruel and vengeful boss.
