Me, an alto, watching this like 👁👄👁
Same but I can sing both easily 😂
same but I’m slowly getting there. I hope I don’t lose my low notes 😭
Yes. I am an alto too, and whenever I hear Broadway stars belting their hearts out, I almost start to cry because I always feel like I can never belt that good.
I can hold longer notes though. I just don't have a stronger singing voice like them. My voice is just a little bit more soft and smooth. It usually happens when I'm acting while singing.
i’m an alto AND a belter. don’t give upp
Yes I understand the first one isn’t a belt, but like HOLY MACKEROL. Also any other suggestions for part 2 ➡️ comment
Let it go or monster
Not Broadway, but still.
Son Seung Yeon - The Wanderer
Barbara Stresissand - My Man
The fist one is obviously not a belt, she is just using her very well trained headvoice☺️
Exactly 😂
@@Anndkfjrosldm123anyone know what song it is
@@Valeriesthoughts Think of me..phantom of the opera
I thought belting was only in chest voice and that it doesn’t count if it’s head voice?
Technically, it doesn't.
Look, you never belt in full chest voice you are always mixing in this parts of your register, but yes most people wouldn’t consider head voice belting.
Erik Delgado hey! I don’t know if you are familiarized with the sound yourself, but that is why I’m asking. So briefly, I am learning to sing and mix and all that good stuff and I’m already pretty good at mixing and going from chest to mix and so on. But thing is my mix is pretty balanced and isn’t either belty in terms of sound and set up nor classical. And I realized I want to build and approach my voice in a more of a Musical Theater style and see, I want to learn how to make my mix more Broadway like ahha. So, from a balanced mix set up, what are the changes I have to make? (I should clarify that I approach mixing with a neutral larynx and a classical leaning vowel modification). I am also talking about a les mis or phantom belt, like a belty mix kind of sound. Either that or a similar sound but a bit less classical
byChimuelo Well it’s quite difficult to assess a voice via a comment but a broadway contemporary sound is a neutral mix with twang or what people call a forward or mask placement. If you are looking for an older legit sound such as in the phantom or perhaps Jean Valjean you would keep as forward placement as you can but you would elevate your soft palette more and drop your larynx a tiny bit. Also I’m a musical theatre student and a voice nerd, that means I’m not actually a qualified vocal coach so if some one reading this is, please correct me or elaborate, thank you😊
It's called mix voice
