Michael Lehenbauer thanks. It’s easy in a state like Colorado where there is a lot of history. In my home state of Arkansas there is very little history of the places we wheel.
We did Black Bear in the early 1980's in a Jeep CJ 5, manual transmission, rental. No spotter. Back in the day rentals were allowed. It was thrilling to say the least.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures It was awesome for sure ! The stick shift was a workout and since it was not fuel injection the carburetor presented its own problems. We will be in Ouray next week to do some easier trails.
So glad I found your channel and this Colorado series....I did Imogene in July 2022 (Ouray to Telluride) & also Yankee Boy but we didn't have time for Black Bear, hopefully will get to it in 2024....your vid on Black Bear is one of the best I've seen....nicely done on all the videos!
Another great video, thanks for sharing! We will be in the San Juan’s late September, we are new to wheeling so we aren’t planning on Black Bear or Imogene, but there are so many other options.
Brian Goeppner thanks!!! I should have part 5 up Sunday or Monday. You’ll love those trails except part of Poughkeepsie Gulch. The Alpine Loop is great.
Awesome! As a drone guy, and 4x4 guy, and from Colorado (and having driven Black Bear many times by motorcycle and mountain bike), I really really appreciate the view from the drone. So many of the same-ole trail videos exist. Great to see your perspective. BTW: I'm near Memphis now and hope to make it up to the Ozarks soon.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures Absolutely! When I see some of your narrow Ozark roads, I can just feel my big-ole Power Wagon scraping through the limbs. But that's a badge of honor, right? Haha!
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures Haha! When I bought my Tacoma in 2005, I still lived in Colorado. After having it one week I took a narrow 4x4 trail near Creed, Co and ended up getting the obligatory pinstripes on my ROOF from a particularly nasty off-camber section of trail! Haha!
Been binging your channel. The first couple of videos were meh...which of course would be expected just starting out. I certainly couldn't do it. I have to tell you your videography, commentary and overall editing/content has gone through the roof! Amazing work! Really enjoying your content!!!
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures absolutely. Keep up the great work. I’m working on a fast payoff of my super duty so we can park it for pulling the 5er and get back into a Jeep after 11 long years. Your videos are keeping my motivation going LOL. Wife just bought a Grand Cherokee and that first drive I forgot how much I love the Jeep brand.
Do you have any advice for meeting people to overland with and or learn from? I'm about to make a vehicle purchase so I can finally partake in this activity/community but I don't know anyone who is into it. I'm 26 and it's a struggle finding people at-least through my age-group social circles lol.. I live in Denver if anyone has any Facebook, meetup, or discord groups they recommend.
I met all these people through Facebook groups. I’m sure there are plenty in Colorado. Pay attention to people who have the same mindset you do and reach out. I used to wheel by myself a lot and went out and explored and learned my local area better than others so I would offer to lead a trip and others would always join.
Dude, when you’re directing people, you need to calm down... quit rushing people and repeating yourself every second. Gonna cause somebody to get too nervous and make a mistake.
I did these trails in early September '21. The drone footage is half the experience imo.
Great job capturing it all.
Epic memories.
Another winner! Good driving, great spotting, good people, and the narration and maps were an excellent touch.
Brawl Dawg thanks for that!!!
Looking forward to this all day
Brad with Natural State Overland so glad you got to watch it with us.
Love the way you give history to the places that you visit

Love the video, found it by searching for a ZR2 doing Black Bear Pass. Going to go watch the rest of the series! Great work!
Thanks!!!

You showed a different perspective of black bear with that drone than I've ever seen...no I want to go even more.
Black bear is a must do at least once!

Why would anyone dislike this? Awesome video! Thanks for all the facts too. Thanks!
Well there are a lot of trolls out there on the interwebs. Thanks so much!!
Another great video y’all. Beautiful views and technical!
Capt. Max thanks Capt!!!
Amazing video! Just got back home today after a trip up imogene and the alpine loop! Was really fun in my brother's new power wagon
JarrettBoi I bet that was fun in a Power Wagon!
Wow. I went from enjoying these videos... to just being jealous lol. Really enjoy the history you give on the places.
Michael Rowland thanks!!! That means a lot!!
OMG😅anxiety filled spotting on those switchbacks
Favorite video of the series!!!! Great job

Man you are awesome! You are always spotting everyone.
thanks!! As the leader and most experienced of the group I consider it my responsibility to get everyone through safely.
Dang. Missed premier. Oh well, Video will be my late night snack! Thanks all.
Mark Spinner heck yeah!!
Thanks for sharing Looks like it was a Great adventure minus the walmart parking lot repairs.
Max Moore it was!! Repairs are just part of it sometimes. Luckily nothing major.
The Adventure includes the Walmart parking lot repairs.
Sometimes Adventure is the grind.
Great video guys. Hoping to do it next summer.
Bird Dog Overland you definitely should!!!
"turn into it... turn towards me. Dude just call driver side.
If you ever come back to Colorado I’d love to join you!
We will be back next year exploring Northern CO. I can't wait!!

Holy crap that turn at 15 min mark was scary as crap to me. Gorgeous stuff and would like to go but not sure I have the guts for it.
LOL. It's super fun unless you don't like heights.
Let’s do this
Savage basin is beautiful

Astral there are two Colorado groups that I’m in. Overland Colorado and Colorado Overland and adventure. They are good groups.
The most interesting part is the house would have liked to see behind it with the drone but I know you can’t show everything 💁
Another great video. I love the interactive tmap! What program are you using for the map graphics in the video?
Popping 2 Tops thanks. That’s an app called Relive. It records your track and then makes the video.

nice video! what size tires are on rubicon @20:35? thanks
All our Jeeps have 35s.

How late in the year would you try this route , maybe into October??
It just depends on weather and snowfall. October is iffy but can be doable some years.
Hey where did you end up camping outside Ouray??
Brian Triplett we camped at Ironton south of Ouray.
Ozark Overland Adventures THANK YOU
I’m making lists on my Gaia on where to go and camp so this helps a lot
@@maximumoverland did you see that our route is linked in the description?
Ozark Overland Adventures no ! I’ll check now !! 🙏🙏🙏
23:35 - How the hell did that Mini get there???
Hulisani Dongola 😂😂 it’s easy dirt road to that spot coming up from Telluride.

Going to try Labor Day weekend ??
We will be in the Ozarks Labor Day Weekend.
What happened to your hair, bro?
Nice ride, just don't need the music.
without the music the done shots would have no sound since drones dont record sound.
next vid ditch the music... had to keep muting, missed most of narrative...
Check out some of my newer videos and see if the sound balance is better.
