I'd also say that the cosmic speed models have a tighter forefoot area since the band/strap that runs across actually prevents stretching of the upper over that area. It's something that I personally noticed quite a bit.
I got them as a collector's item because they look like older Vapors. Don't know if I will ever wear them (maybe on a really nice grass pitch). Somehow got them on sale from Unisport and got 25% off lol
Nike sucks for not telling us this. I got the first cosmic speed but sold it after realizing the grip knit is not there at all and the chrome on the upper falls off even just rubbing your fingers on it.
I mean, those colorways alone are enough for me to buy the boots, I am so fine with playing with the Vapor 14/Superfly 8 so grippy upper may not be the deal breaker for me but the new and improved soleplate and zoom cushioning.
For sure the gripknit is there for the sake of justifying the steeper price tag, because if you admittedly used regular flyknit, nobody would buy them because they'd be so much mlre expensive than the pro model with a flyknit upper. I'm not completely against having a non sticky version though, so personally I think it'd be cool if we got like a special limited release with an atomknit upper on the elite soleplate, which in fairness would be just another glorified pro model, but at least it would be something different.
So here's how they do it: Charge a $40 premium for a shoe that isn't structurally different but looks cooler. When the next iteration comes out with significant improvements, they now can justify an even higher price, because you already paid $325 for a model not as advanced.
Was hoping for this review 2 weeks ago but since this were selling like hot cakes, had to get it. Just want to point out apart from not offering grip, the PVD makes the boot slightly stiffer than a regular mercurial and good thing is it doesn't get (or look) dirty as easily after sessions.
I hate nike for changing sizing on the superfly 10s, i had the superfly 9 elites and now i cant find a proper replacement for them... the new ones just dont fit me :(
i bought the superfly version and tbh i don't really mind the fact that there isn't the same stickiness tbh my favourite superflys have been the 5 and 7 and i feel like the soleplate going back to the chevron studs makes it feel and look better but i still don't find that same feeling as i did with the 5s after they were broken in my 5s are pretty much falling apart but i won't let them go at this point lol
They never have big sizes and as such we are forced to wear thrash boots from other brands...please if anyone has a plug for big size mercurial please 🙏
Amazing bag rating as always lol. Like it’s been said, feels more like the vapor 13/ superfly 7 (which are my favorite). It does suck with the up charge for color/style and the coating giving the grip knit a more mild gritty texture. I have the first drop (hate the extra cost, but got to treat myself) and I’m pretty happy with them. Hope anyone who nabbed a pair gets to enjoy them. Looking to see what old designs Nike reimagines in the next release. Keep up the great reviews Josh. 🔥 ✌️
It’s not far off. It has a little more structure to it, like the normal Elite model, and definitely has a bit more grit to the surface compared to the perfectly smooth surface finish of the Pros.
Hey guys I am starting to think he just makes up the string bag rating on the fly and doesn't actually have a proper rating method.....
you're just catching onto that now? lmfao
Nawww. I think that's a very very sophisticated rating system that all reviewers should adapt also
I think that you are extremely wrong.
@@BourneIdentity45 Even if it was random I expected this to have a rating closer to the max
@@jake8243it's never ever random but yes the score is quite disappointing. I would have expected at least 9.972.55 out of the 10.844
Now I understand why Palmer jumped on these so quickly
Facts
The orange one is so sexy, but I wouldn’t pay that price for a less grippy upper. Might as well get the regular color ways

yeah orange one looks like World Cup 2014 vapors
I need one so bad 😭
When I think of 'old vapors' I think of 2002-2006 models not ones from 2014... I'm getting old 😭
Nike sucks for not telling us this. I got the first cosmic speed but sold it after realizing the grip knit is not there at all and the chrome on the upper falls off even just rubbing your fingers on it.
I love my Mango Mercurials
I think the regular colourways have better mean to buy than these cosmic speed cuz it has coatings and it kinda erases gripknit feeling for me😅

You should gift me one thanks
@@jake8243 lol, how about no 😂😂😂

So how much do they cost and where can I buy them in Australia?
If you look at the position of the swoosh it looks like it meant to release a year ago
So here's how they do it:

Didn’t realize how expensive these were. 😬 I think the grip knit is awesome on the new vapors. Weird that they’d take it off these LE boots.

I got the blue color way . Haven’t had the chance to try them been too cold out lately can’t wait though !
bro cant do it on a cold night in stoke in the rain
I wish they made the green in a low cut I’d buy them right away

I honestly prefer a mercurial without gripknit
This exactly looks like the vapor 9 golf ball colorway
Damn so I gotta wait to get these because I like more grip but I don’t like the current available colorways

Only MIJ Mizunos deserve the 300+ price tag
Need to make gold color sleeves for shine guards
A.i told me that the superfly gives a more secured lockdown over vapoirs because of it starting from ankle 😅
Do you think the grip element of the knit will become closer to the other colourways once these are broken in
They're not for wearing, they're for collectors...
But wearing them would be the best part
hey Josh, do you think that the f50 messi pro’s upper is better than the tiempo 10 elite upper?
Personally, I don’t think so.
I wish nike bags were mesh like the predators
Nike have lost it this year
when are the new predators coming out?
In a few days
Is this colorway has a pretty same feeling as the vapor 16 pro ?
It’s not far off. It has a little more structure to it, like the normal Elite model, and definitely has a bit more grit to the surface compared to the perfectly smooth surface finish of the Pros.
No never Josh takes that’s very serious he would never😮😂
Surely this is the highest string bag rating ever right 🤔
Well its a nice boots , i have one , its all good. BUT the nike logo especially on my dominant foot , its peel of easily 😅
do they weigh the same?
Ya, no meaningful difference there
Which One is like the Vapor 13?
Both of these have a similar finish in the upper to the Vapor 13 & Superfly 7 👍
Ah ok, but they Are Not so wide as the Vapor 13?
Not worth the price lol
Just say you're broke, bro
