Since when did they start calling a tropical system, depression, or storm in the Atlantic or Gulf of Mexico, a “cyclone”?

Now they say ‘topical cyclone’ instead of ‘tropical storm’. When it strengthens more, then they calling it a hurricane. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I know, why the change? It was fine and I will still call it a tropical storm.

They switched it from ‘tropical storm’ to ‘tropical cyclone for some reason. When it reaches hurricane strength then it’s a hurricane. It’s dumb to change it….im thinking it has something to do with the insurance companies so they don’t have to pay out or some 💩

We have wind storm insurance but I dropped the flood insurance. This house has never flooded and it was built in 1965. It’s been through the bad ones unscathed.

Frequency. Intensity. Thats all it is going to take. The "change" part of "climate change" looks like this - over and over and over.
