    The "water issue" is one of those things where eastern europeans look at the pampered Americans and scratch their heads wondering what the hell are they talking about.
    Ukraine is not the Sahara, there are plenty of water sources everywhere. They don't even need filters. A western soldier who has been drinking bottled water all their life might need filtered water but the Russians are mostly recruits from rural areas they have been drinking well water/creek water all their lives without issues. The idea that the men need tankers of clean water supplied to the front lines probably seems supremely silly to Russians.

      @@hubbablahloo1843 Of course not everyone drinks Evian in America but most people are used to filtered/bottled water. I'm willing to bet by well water you mean water pumped from a closed underground well. Usually those pumps have filters. Even when they don't the water is very clean because it is not exposed.
      In rural Russia there are plenty of people that still drink water hauled up with a bucket from an open well.
      I'm not saying rural Americans are nearly as pampered as the metrosexual crowd in the big cities but overall the sanitation standards in the US and the west in general are incomparable with the rest of the world. That's a good thing in many aspects but one if the drawbacks is that western soldiers have trouble living off the land in the same way Russians or Ukrainians would.

    0:58 I don't quite understand the reasoning here. First off; they already experienced a summer last year, and they managed just fine. But, ok, let's say he's right, and during summer it will be difficult (logistics) to transport a lot of water to the front. But... That would be exactly the same for Ukraine, wouldn't it? How is Ukraine going to get enough water transported, where THEIR vehicles are going to be bombed as well? So I don't see how this changes anything at the front itself, since the problem is not a one-sided issue. There is no difference here in the context of an advantage or disadvantage for one particular side, so all things remaining equal, it also means the front (and the Russians winning terrain) is not going to change.
    I heard Zelensky finally made an opening for negotiations with "no pre-set conditions" - a whole other tone than he used previously, when he always demanded complete withdrawal of the Russians before any negotiations could be held. It's better late than never, but he should have started negotiations already a year ago.

      This is a first world problem that neither side has in this war. These are not westerners who have been drinking bottled water since childhood. There are plenty of wells everywhere in Ukraine. Every village has several and there are also springs. Soldiers on both sides have been drinking well water all their lives they don't need purification tablets or filters their immune system takes care of any minor contamination. And if the water is truly foul they will boil it, these are people that know how to live off the land.

    Sure, trucks might be needed to carry SOME water from A to B (usually a very short distance), but most of water supply is mere kilometers from the front lines.
    A creek can supply thousands of people, every day. All you need is a filters and small vehicles to get water to the front lines.

Many are in small villages or towns and you'd have to reroute the pipeline each time you lose one. Yet as Russia is advancing I suspect those pipes are getting longer and are being laid down every new 10sqkm.

    It's a current quality of Ukrainian troops. It will get only worse. Most trained and motivated Ukrainian soldiers are populating endless cemeteries across Ukraine, decomposing on the spot where they perished or trying to survive after being crippled. People kidnapped off the streets by Zelenskyy thugs have zero motivation to die for him. More over when they manage to escape to Russians or surrender they willingly provide them with intelligence on Ukrainian positions, ammo depots etc. They consider Zelenskyy a tormentor and a war criminal.

I've been reading for over 1 year from you people that Ukraine is down to fighting with women, old men, and cripples. Clearly this isn't the case as Ukraine still puts up one hell of a fight. Russia gains ground very slowly and at high material and human costs.
      I'm a realist. The chance that Ukraine "wins" (whatever that means) is slim to none. But no country (except maybe France 😂), gives in to an aggressor even if the chances of winning are slim.
      Both militaries are extremely capable still, both are taking extremely heavy losses, both will continue to fight indefinitely. I hope for peace, but Putin's peace is a one-sided proposition, so I don't see it happening soon.

    Zelensky and Europe do not want peace. The reason is quite simple to understand: in its current state, the Ukrainian "government" no longer has legitimacy. It only remains in place because of the Martial Law which allows it not to organize an election (although in reality, this government is taking advantage of a gap in the Constitution, due to the current situation not being planned). In the case of peace, elections will have to be held. In this case, the world will discover that Zelensky does not have the support of his population.
    But there is more disturbing: Europe wants to incorporate Ukraine and seeks to accelerate this process, which seems to show that Europe has perfectly understood that the war is lost. In the event of peace, therefore end of Martial Law, therefore new elections, there is a chance that the new government will not agree to quickly return to Europe because Europe has completely fooled Ukraine. If we look at the economic evolution of Ukraine and Russia, we see that Russia has had much greater progress than that of Ukraine. Independence in 1991 was "supposed" to bring enormous growth to Ukraine, which which did not happen. And this even as Europe was supposed to help Ukraine and Russia was subject to more than 15,000 sanctions. For the population, for those who look at how much money they have in their wallet, it is more interesting to move closer to Moscow than to Brussels.
    This explains, among other things, why, as soon as Orban arrived in Moscow, we mainly heard the European Parliament saying "this is not good, we should not negotiate" when in fact, NATO and the USA did not didn't say much...

    As a combat engineer I can say that the water issue is simple. Engineers can set a well in less than a day. Russia has a lot of engineers. They can make a pumping station every few miles along the whole front. Why does everyone forget about combat engineers? Lmao

    • @islandwills2778
      @islandwills2778 4 дня назад

      Hell forget about making a proper well. A simple sand point well can be made by an untrained Ivan after watching a RUclips video. No expensive or rare equipment needed. Just a post pounder or sledge hammer.
      The water might need filtering or boiling but it's not a complicated process

    • @JonLittle-jf5uh
      @JonLittle-jf5uh 4 дня назад

      @@islandwills2778 Ukraine engineers could do it also. Ground water doesn't need to be treated unless you hit minerals or contaminants. If the water table is low, it would only take a few hours. Just a couple of troops.

    I'm sure that with Russia having Troops in Syria that do need routine water resupply - That they can handle water resupply in Ukraine.
    That David dude is one dedicated operative.
    I seen the first AT mine video and wondered if it was simply a grenade attached to the mine to dentonate it.
    Well on this video is clearly looks like a grenade is taped to the mine, he pulls a pin, and throws it in the window (luckily he didn't slip any further or he likely would have gotten more than a concussion!)
    I don't think it's something like a plastic explosive and a fuse and a blasting cap. Otherwise I would think they would have cut a longer fuse so they don't blow themselves up. So I think it is a simple as a grenade.

    Wells in present-day or defunct syolas (villages) and khutors (hamlets) could have been used as sources of water. While the water canal from the now-defunct southernmost reservoir on the .Dnepr river towards Crimea had also been used to supply water for the industrial-scale
    agriculture, before the channel came into being, there was enough water to supply tens of thousands of people and theirpersonal/collective livestock and their personal/collective crops utilized to sustain themselves. And the putative lack of potable water for the Russian Military in the region hasn't been a major issue either in 2022 or in 2023....
