Dr. Campbell, What a wonderful job of translating the concept of Structural Violence to the domain of education. It is a perfect match and alignment of the concept originated by Galtung and the expression of that concept in education. Kozol is a perfect context for illustrating the concept. Great job.
pls pls... make a playlist of your lecture in Structural Violence. And thanks for the amazing work. Is there a way I can contribute to this project? I have experience in some creative writing and social media marketing.
I have a 2 questions... For the Insurance corporations: Would allowing a person to die, because they didn't have the money for a medical procedure, be a good example of structural violence? Or for the clothing industry: Having people in foreign counties die from accidents from working in extremely poor working conditions (for very little money!!!) for the U.S. be another good example?
some one might left dying i guess just because you know the consequences on not paying or you dont have money for medication. i might not understand your insurance procedures but if u wont comply with contract agreement then its on you. Am in Tanzania i have seen a lot of people dying just because of that and n one has come up to see that as the problem/S.violence. cant say i have answer you the way u expect, some one will come with better views i guess. all in all this was quite hard question for me i guess i tried. you can also find the question am going to ask i hope it might help for you to get your answer...
