Mission Skopje Operation SWAN

Last year, the Regional Security Office at the U.S. Embassy in Skopje, North Macedonia, organized a large-scale, crisis response exercise that included host-nation security forces, DoD partners, Bureau of Medical Services, and every section of the embassy. The drill took months of planning and all day to execute. Participants learned how to respond to simultaneous, multiple threats including a disinformation campaign, a violent mob, injured personnel, and a possible attack on the embassy.
