This movie was done superbly! Shirley Temple was an extremely talented little girl. Absolutely beautiful child to add to that. The Grandfather in this movie was also excellent! Just all around exceptional story.
I agree. I loved these movies and this little girl when I was growing up. Its sad when you hear about what happened to her growing up in the industry as such a small child.
This was so sad that poor little Heidi wanted to go with her grandfather and couldn't the captain realize it. Fraulein Rottenmeier was an evil monster there.

Lovely Shirley Temple. I cried a lot when I watched this movie 20 years ago, and also bought the DVD this movie, so I can watch anytime :))
