I made the unfortunate mistake of not learning the Komaki moves before doing this fight and it just dragged on to the point where I had to use weapons and all my healing items to beat this fight.
Ha yeah, that's the same reason I didn't do a Kanda video on the N/A version of the re-master lol. Without them it's just hell and you don't have any good options to deal with him
This fight is the most difficult in the entire game imo. 3s boss fights overall felt much more difficult and seemed to last longer than in other installments
Depends....the hardest no damage is against tamashiro with gun and arase and shimazaki and jimmy didn't do no damage against them......for a normal fight..yeah probably is the hardest.
Depending on how people play Yakuza 0, they can grind Kiryu all the way to Level 999. Think about it, Lau Ka Long defeated a (possibly) Level 999 Kiryu, tied him up and almost killed him if it werent for Kazama
He tricked Kiryu ,not defeat. Kiryu infiltrated Snake Flower Triad using Forgers fake passport. Lau somehow know that and add something to Kiryu's drink. Kiryu wakes up tied up and Lau had a speech before torture. After some time, Kazama infiltrate there too and save Kiryu (but he forced to use cane after this).
Well done! I actually liked this fight, even if it was pretty hard, but Lau Ka Long's cool Kung Fu moves make it very entertaining lol The IF7 version of this boss however....
It's actually bullshit and artificially hard. Je blocks way too much and leave barely any openings to attacks. It's unrealistic and worse than any soulsborne fight. This is the worst designed boss fight in the series by far.
@@calvinkkkk It's pretty difficult yeah, i changed my opinion to Joji being my favorite, I love that fight. Here, Lau Ka Long will ALWAYS do a super armor counter move if you do four hits of your rush combo, so you can cheese the staff stage by quickstepping behind his counter because quickstep invincibility gets you through, and then get a free combo, rinse and repeat. When he switches to claws, tiger drops and whiff punishes, and then finally use komaki when hes unarmed
For some strange reason, I couldn't seem to parry nor tiger drop this prick. He would constantly trap me in his combos and I had to resort to brute force and health items. I am glad that he got capped.
This guy isn't really a challenge with me but i keep getting the infinitive "Now loading" after that cutscene, i had to fight him again and again, is annoying and i haven't found a fix for it yet.
Girlfriend is playing this game, she couldn't beat this guy so she handed me the ctonroller. Glad I found this video so I at least knew to try and figure out how to do that dash gut punch move he keeps doing.
Yakuza 3 Kiryu feels so strong compared to other games on paper. Quickstep goes insanely far, Knockback was very good and so was the hook counter, and for once tiger drop was okayish only cause it was super armor before it was given invincibility frames. Combined with the fact you can juggle in this game like no tomorrow, if kiryu had higher damage this game would be a cakewalk if enemies didn’t block so much. Anyway, fantastic work on this fight
More than likely lol, I wanted to make sure I had a few moves before I went in here. I also levelled almost specifically to get tech over things like heat or health
@@lowserver2 Haha yeah if you don't have a parry move you're shitbaked. The game isn't designed well enough to do anything other than trade blows unless you have the patience of a saint and are willing to do very simple punch combos for 45 minutes
Don't worry, he's coming soon when I get a chance to play it again! Here is a recording I did a little ways back on the JP version. I plan to do this again, but the new changes to the crumple system from back attacks will make it a little more difficult: ruclips.net/video/QKksdnsj2j8/видео.html
Heat Actions seems to have little to no impact in the game and honestly makes the game look slow and boring. It's Sega's fault to set the bar up the Yakuza series so high with the Kiwamis and now they're just being lazy and publish these out for bits and bobbles -_-
Dude. It’s to make it accessible for a wider audience, and also provide a 60fps experience. Heat moves doing shit all is a big criticism I got too, but this game was before Kiwami. So no shit it ain’t as slick and fluid. At least this game has original bosses instead of Reston’s of already existing bosses move sets like Kiwami was.
Damage in general in Yakuza 3 is very mild. I actually like it like that, I feel in the newer Yakuza games the bosses fighters are over too quickly, but perhaps Yakuza 3 goes a bit far in the other direction. I think 0 and Kiwami had the best boss pacing. But, I really like breaking down these fights and it feels really good to get a long fight in without getting touched!
Jimmyqballs Never been able to do that much myself. But in the case of heat moves I wonder why they lower damage. Sure it can just be a cutscene with a few QTE’s which lowers their health a shit ton. But what would the point be of exploring to find more? This game does have some of my favourite bosses like Andre, Mine and Kanada. The more basic combat focus is pretty damn neat.
@@jimmyqballs This. The enemies constantly turtling all the time is the other issue, as the two combined makes the game really boring as the fights take way too long as you're essentially just chipping away at their health, so you feel like you're tickling the bosses to death -_-
I CAN FUCKING BELIEVE JOJI USED RUBBER BULLETS ON LAU KA LONG
it is so fucked up that this is canon
I guess this still is somehow a canon
Lau did all those fantastic moves to get fantastically shot in the head
And somehow survived!

Depends....the hardest no damage is against tamashiro with gun and arase and shimazaki and jimmy didn't do no damage against them......for a normal fight..yeah probably is the hardest.
An easy counter is to do your rush combo right before the kick, and then quick step behind him as his super armor counter does not hit there.
Which I loved. Makes them more memorable.
Then there's the virtual one with all three of them.
