Had the HJR mirrors on my 2016 S1000R and I was really impressed with them. Like you said the quality is OK for £60.... I was impressed they 'worked' and suited the bike well. Come November 2021 I PX her after 5 years of ownership and went for the Gen 3 S1000R. Never been a fan of the OEM bunny ear mirrors and was hoping to use my existing HJR mirrors. Alas the bar ends are a completely different thread size and the HJR fixing kit does not fit. I did speak to BMW before delivery about the bar being different and they were pretty sure my existing HJR bar end mirrors would fit btw. Bum steer that was ! Spoke to HJR who said that nothing is in the pipeline for a revised fixing kit for the Gen 3 bike. So opted for the the BMW bar end mirrors about a month after taking delivery. Pricey at around £260 but fitted them myself, its an easy 10 min job all...don't pay BMW for it. They look and feel good quality. They fit perfectly so initially I was pleased. Unfortunately as Dom Cat stated buzzing circles from around 4K onwards...can't see a dam thing in them. Plus the bars are have more vibrations with the BMW mirrors. Has to be down to the OEM bar ends not being used with the mirrors. Actually put my HJR mirrors up for sale on the S1000R forum but not had a taker, seeing Dom Cat review and link to the guy who has manufactured a kit to enable me to use them again I think i will hang onto them and contact him. Again dam shame the BMW ones are not really up to scratch as they look so good. Thanks Dom Cat for the links
Thank you for your recommendation of these mirrors. I went with them for my Gen3 and bought the adapter kit from Dave Austin and I love them. They are so much better than the standard mirrors and they look fantastic. Thank you.
I notice you have your mirrors turned inwards rather than outwards (as BMW demo them). I have none of the vibration issues you mention and the rear view is excellent.
hello just went to my dealer to check an s1000r 2023 to replace an mt10 and it vibrates a lot the tank and handle bars. also idling was at 1200rpm oscillating to 1250 not sure if this is normal. my mt10 is smooth and is not new. expected more from bmw. is this normal?
I just installed the BMW bar end mirrors on my 22 S1000R. They look so good, but the vibration is so disappointing, especially in my hands. I am contacting Rhino moto to see if they have a heavy bar end that will help.
Get it checked over mine doesn't vibrate anything like that on anything but higher RPM's 🤔 I also have the same mirrors and I did have to have the glass replaced twice on the throttle side as it fell out when riding hard 🤦🏻♂️😅😅 however your mirrors are mounted backwards to each other try them the other way it may make a difference? 🤷🏻♂️
For a modern bike at the price they sell for one would expect something simple like the vibration would be a quick fix, if not then they need to spend the money on R&D to find a solution. It’s one reason I have not bought this bike. Hoping the next Gen will be better
Surprisingly not, couldn't feel any difference! When I went to the HJR I noticed a little buzz on long journeys giving me tingly palms. I have since upgraded to the Evotech bar ends and that resolved it.
@@andytims1 have heard that, they feel a bit weightier, and they are slightly longer so don’t know if that matters but for me no tingling hands after a 4 hour stint.
Do you need the adapter from dave? Because I see they have mirrors for 2021+. Just got my new s1000r and opted for the bmw bar end mirrors, looks like that was a mistake…
Hi there. Really want to contact Dave re bar end mirrors. Can you please provide his details as my bike was in an accident and I need to get replacement mirrors. Thanks if you can help.
If you search Dave Austin on Facebook he’s the smiley chap with sun glasses on 😎 alternatively if you joint the S1000R owners group he’s in there too 👍🏻
Do you know if your BMW mirrors would fit a s1000xr? I want to remove the hand guards and fit bar ends, but can’t work out if it’s the same end mount on the R and XR
Hello, sorry for my English... I tried to look on the HJR website and he tells me that bar end mirrors are not suitable for the s1000R 2021 version... do you know if they are still good or if special adaptations should be made?? Thank you

I believe bmw don't use balancing shafts in the s1000 engine to combat secondary vibrations, as this would sap power and add inertia.
Thank you for your recommendation of these mirrors. I went with them for my Gen3 and bought the adapter kit from Dave Austin and I love them. They are so much better than the standard mirrors and they look fantastic. Thank you.
Just got these installed per your recommendation. Absolutely brilliant. I have shared your excellent review.
Thanks buddy 👍🏻

I tried both ways in and out and still had the issue. Ok 4k and below but above 4k just see circles in the mirrors.

Yup it’s a vibey bike. If you can stretch to the M1000 that is better. Personally it’s not an issue for me.

It’s such a shame as they are very nice mirrors 😢
I had comparable mirror problems on a recent test ride. Not as bad as on my Ducati SuperSport, but much worse than an inline 4 has any right to.
I went with the Motogadget Blade mirrors. Expensive, but they look nice. Vibes aren't too bad either.
Haven’t heard of those ones? How much? Any links and pics? 🤗

Yeah tried the other way out and also asked BMW at first service and they said it was how they were 🤷🏻♂️
No regret using it. Better than oem mirror

The vibes don’t bother me, but know it does with others. The M is much smoother because of shift cam
@@yodomcat good to know that👍
I'm guessing the loss of the bar end weight makes a big impact on the amount of vibration.,
Surprisingly not, couldn't feel any difference! When I went to the HJR I noticed a little buzz on long journeys giving me tingly palms. I have since upgraded to the Evotech bar ends and that resolved it.
@@yodomcat The Evotech bar ends are almost exactly the same weight as EOM. Made no difference for me.

How do you rate the change or is it just cosmetic, the OEM give a great view of my arms and elbows.
I like bar end mirrors so for me they are very usable, and cosmetically look great! 😉
Hi. Where did you get replacement clamps without mirror stem, where regular mirrors would fit? If from bmw,do you have part nr for it? Thanks
Just turn them upside down

I think they now supply the adapters, but if they don’t Dave is super helpful and quick to get them out.
Super! Any idea what torx size the bolts are? :)
@@yannickwellens448 sorry mate no clue, Dave will know 👍🏻
BMW Mirrors can also be used in the down position.. I got them on my 2021.. no problem.

One last observation what is the box with the yellow and red switches?
Warm and safe wireless controller for heated gear 🔥☺️🔥

You need special adaptors. If you join the Facebook group for “s1000r 2021+ owners group” and search for Dave Austin he makes them.
Have you got Extra front indicators fitted there ?
No stock indicators 👍🏻
Hello.
Can you send the link for HJR one please
