Wow! The bullet holes look cool... Photo etch window frames.. cool. That will look good on the gaming table with Airfix's new miniature wargame. Czech Restaurant is really really cool. Thanks for sharing! Hope all is well. Take Care. 👍🍻👍
This is a great product Al. I got the Belgium corner house, 1/76, & the French farm house , same scale. Great packaging and details. Price is good too. Good advise on increasing the possibilities by strategic cuts as well. Keep well my friend!
These buildings from Airfix are really nice and could be used in many different ideas of dioramas. A surely quite good idea, to buy these. Even if you don't need them directly, at some point the inspiration comes, for what they will then be a perfect fit for. It will be nice, too see them, when they are painted. Best wishes, Al. Joachim
Biggest problem with these Airfix resin buildings is the over-thick roof - made as thick as the walls. But I guess you can paint the lower part in dark brown/black, so it doesn’t quite look so daft. I bought the Czech Restaurant some years ago but still haven’t got round to detailing and painting it yet. Going to put a first floor in mine.
Hi good video thanks, I just bought one of these what would you suggest I prime this with please? as i have never painted resin before. Thanks stay safe.
Hi Jeffrey, thanks for the comment. I am sure you know it's a good idea to wash the resin in some warm soapy water just to make sure the release agent isn't on the material. I then sprayed mine Chaos Black from games workshop just to give add another bit of surface for the actual paint to adhere to, but you can spray any could you want. Is the spray necessary? I am not really sure, but it was a belt and braces as cleaning the resin may well suffice. Let me know how you get on sir.👍😉
@@alwoodsmodellingmayhem Thank you for your kind reply, I just been out side my front door had just enough grey acrylic in a rattler can that i bought from Wilco. I also have some matt black Tamiya for the base coat. I also found some spare black foam board for a scratch building same measurements.I managed just too pull the Czech restaurant apart at the end where the roof is. Now able to make it larger size ect.
@@jeffreywall8822 Sounds like you have a plan Jeff, it would be really cool if you could show us the build sir as we love this kind of stuff, but don't feel pressured into doing so if you don't want to. Enjoy your bench time.👍😉
Wouldn’t worry about scale, especially something as trivial as the difference between 1/72 and 1/76. Nearly all commercial model buildings made for this scale are undersized when you compare them to the real life buildings.
After watching this I went out and bought the Airfix Italian Farmhouse (not the Italian Townhouse). It is stated to be 1/76 and does indeed have walls that are quite a lot thinner than the 1/72 scale Czech Restaurant. In truth I was quite disappointed with the size as I was expecting something a little bit closer to the bulk of the Czech building.
Awesome video that a little house looks amazing 👍👌🍺🍺🍻🇿🇦😎🇬🇧

That is true my friend. I put a floor in one of my dio's too which was fun to do. I hope you enjoy adapting your kit.👍😉

Very useful, thanks.
Never seen these before are they a recent thing that Airfix are doing. Again something different will look forward to see what you come up with
Great video. Do Airfix still produce these buildings as I don’t see them in the 2023 catalogue?
Yes my friend. They are still for sale on their website.👍😉
There supper Al I can see they would realy add to a diarama..KA

Nice ruin buildings. You think 1:72 buildings would go with 1:100 miniatures?
@@alwoodsmodellingmayhem All is well we thank God.
