@@GRAFFDEMON no
All melee units tremble in fear of the millions of oda long yari ashigaru
Who's here after they made it free?
I hope my MacBook Pro 15 2018 can run it.
Me. Not sure how much I'll dig it, but the price is right.
Levi Fury it won’t crash but you’ll probably experience a few frame drops
Take it fast before 2 may
Me :P
Aight, pretty sure we all came here to decide whether we should claim the game or not.
Well... it's free, so you won't regret losing money if you play it and you don't like it
I claimed it but I doubt my pc can run it
Was planning on building one but since covid19 I’m gonna hold off
@@moonwolf975 game is 9 years old
My laptop is 6 years old and can barely run krunker at medium settings
@@moonwolf975 my pc is beyond awful and I was pretty sceptical about being able to run this, downloaded it since it's for free and low and behold it actually runs. Running mostly on low with the odd thing at medium so it looks terrible compared to this video tho :p
it is an honor to be able to play this game
Who's here to ask who's here after downloading this game coz it's free?
@Metalicalypse Yeah you're completely opinionated response with no back up is totally right... Look keep your opinion to your self I loved this game and its my favorite in the series so far. Just because you don't like the Shogun period doesn't make it crap.
after Rome 2 came out shogun 2 deserves a 9.5
@yoitsblang yeah its not bad... my friends done it and it can run ok on medium :)
Did not expect to find you here, Jolly.
Just got this game on a Steam sale in July 2019. $20 for base game and ALL DLCs. Thoroughly loving it!
Best game in the series in my opinion! blows Rome 2 out of the water.
i dropped rome 2 after 3 days because i was bored. i got this in 2012 and still play it very often. its a masterpiece
It's almost 2019 and I still play this game
I just bought it, such a great game even now
REVENONE Indeed, same me matey! 😁 Only just heard about it in the last few years :-)
From Wikipedia:
When inflated the horo was said to protect the wearer from arrows shot from the side and from behind.Wearing a horo is also said to have marked the wearer as a messenger (tsukai-ban) or person of importance.
I've been playing total war ever since the first one came out (shogun total war). I now own shogun 2 and it's epic! In my entitled opinion, this is the best total war series. I've studied japanese culture in school, and this game really shows it. The way samurais fight in total war looks authentic too. Ca did an awesome job with this one.
I think this game along with other TW games have the best optimization I’ve seen. I use to play on a crappy 2013 Toshiba laptop and it played fine.
best game ever worth every penney
Ninjas were practitioners of ninjitsu, while Samurai practiced bushido. The latter were conventional soldiers, and the ninjas were hired for spying/espionage, sabotage, and assassination. Lords used both in war. The biggest difference is that Samurai place honor above all else, while the ninja values survival more. They weren't mortal enemies, so much as opposite ends of a spectrum.
The interaction between soldiers in this game is amazing! Definately a step up from Napoleon. I think this has to be my second favorite total war yet.
(my first being Rome)
On sale on steam for 7$
And today! 7 bucks
damm i missed it Twice :/
vladimir putin be glad. I feel like CA owes me $7 for releasing this crap.
true empire was way better :D
on sale now mate
It's in a humble bundles from Sega today, can't wait to try this beast
@Periwinkleton You are mistaken, you can do 1 + 1 co-op multiplayer campaign, and you can do multiplayer custom battles to some extent by designating which prefecture you want to have a battle in.
What should I get? Atila? Rome 2? Shogun 2 ?
Shogun 2 has been labeled the best by total war fans. Rome 2 has some really bad bugs but still really good. Medieval 2 has some really cool mods! But for me it comes down to which setting I find most interesting.
Get Shogun 2 and its standalone expansion Fall of the Samurai. Those two are the best.
TheScareCrow Attila is a lot better than rome 2, shogun 2 is as good as attila, look what era do you like more.
ctpOMG Urm for me Rome 2 is like a little better than Attila. Just because Rome 2 has better Roster and much more Factions to play with.
TheScareCrow attila just came out rome not, think when you write a coomment and the rome 2 roaster is worst than attila, i have both games, trust me, rome 2 roaster are the saame units, they feel the same.
@xhiddenwookiex Minimum: 2GHz Intel dual core processor / 2.6GHz Intel Single Core processor or AMD equivalent (with SSE2)
Ram: 1GB(XP), 2GB(Vista/Win7) and 20GB free hard disk space
Video Card: 256MB DireactX 9.0 compatible graphics card
this looks so overwhelming...
+John Derman it is but i feel like im never gonna win the battle but i end up winning it anyways
It's not, that review just makes it seem that way. Play the tutorials and you'll be perfectly fine
@Tejmaster1 Both of them are very good beginner entries into the Total War franchise. Just choose which historical period you like best!
"Powerful hardware"
I can run it on my laptop with an intel graphics 3000 at 30fps on lowest quality...
7 years ago bud
One little disagreement with these guys: It doesn't really burn up lower-end computers that badly. I have a pretty low end laptop, and as long as I keep the graphics round low and medium, it runs decently, and still looks pretty great!
This or rome 2? Im new to the whole strategy genre..
Shogun easily, last I heard Rome 2 was riddled with bugs and not nearly as polished.
Yes, shogun 2 and fall of the samurai.
wait for TW atilla...it seems like its gonna be good but i would wait you know for sure it's not shit
medieval 2.Its the best one in the franchise, also the easiest to get into.
does anyone know if this game would run well on a desktop mac if i use parallels to run windows?
Got the entire Total War Master Collection with all games from Rome to Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai. A huge cut from $90 to $22.
The two main things that make a gaming rig is the processor and and gpu (graphics card) ram also helps. if your graphics card is weak and everything else is "Up to date" then you will bottleneck get more ram and a better graphics card. If you need a better processor as well think of getting a new computer, build one if you can. If you cant go to a local computer shop and get them to build you one you gotta research the parts you want in it expect anywhere from 1000-2000 for the build.
@ThomasCreel It doesn't matter whether they "looked" like each other (whatever that is supposed to mean... ). If Paris and London looked just like each other, would that mean France = England? They were two completely separate empires.
i like how i can watch a 1080p add in the beginning but i have to pause every 10 seconds to let the damn video buffer further
@Andy0against0WW3 ssd doesnt help really in performance just speed. What processor you have? I got a i7 2600k @4.4ghz with a nvidia gtx 570 and 8 gigs of ram and im running everything in the highest possible with anti aliasing 8x and csaa 16x. No lag so you might play at high but go to "can you run it?" on google and it tells u.
They better make a game that spans from the mid 18th century, to the late 19th century, Including all the huge technological changes, and a huge map of the entire world, with places never seen before, like southeast asia, oceania, south america.
@JaredThinks i5 is indeed a good processor but a lot will depend on the RAM and the graphics card in the computer as well.
@hekoka I cant say for this game, but generally games like this are time-consuming in the sense that one 'game' can take a long time. My experience is with Civ V, where games can take up to 20 hours or longer (though thats adjustable).
However, its very easy to play those games in chunks. For example, play 1 or 2 hours, save, then continue some other day. Strategy games are very easy to enjoy in bite-sized pieces.
The only Total War I played. This is one of te most addicting games I played in a while, reloading campaign after campaign, and playing Co-Op with other people too, not to mention the custom battles I play for fun.
I beated a 13 hour straight Co-Op campaign with a random guy yesterday that bought the game 2 days ago; we had fun just random in game voice chatting and small breaks.
The eras, Shogun 2 is set within the 16th century Japan and with FotS you're placed in the Meiji Restoration period.
Get the grand master collection. For an extra 20-30 bucks (I'm guessing) you get all the Total War games and all the DLC.
Can you customize generals and banners in campaign or only online?
@stonem001 not neccesarily. Obviously they'd have to add new features to make hoplite combat more than just clicking on the enemy... like options of pushing right/left side, flank left etc. In history hoplite combat was far more tactical than how it is represented in total war
@ThatMaskedGuy The real time battles for WW1, WW2, and Modern would have to be completely different, seeing as they didn't form up in neat little lines or square groups
@PCGamerwannabe it depends on what you are supposed to be doing with the computer.
i3 cpus are ususaly for the low end gamer or the web browser.
i5 is more for purely gaming.
i7 is for high end photo and video editing.
the best cpu for gaming is really the i5 2500k, but because of your budget you should just take the i7 2600k.
the i7 3930k is for really HIGH END stuf like 3d processing or heavy video rendering and encoding. this cpu is purely for the enthusiast.
get the i7 2600k.
@ThaRolk Its a ''Lenovo LNV Z570 GUN'' it has a Intel core i3-23330m processor, 8gb memory and a 750gb hard drive and ''nvidia 1gb graphics; ideal for a stunning game performance'' your saying this wont work? :/
@bbad891 yes they give archers an advantage, it allows ur archers to shoot over ur own troops to minimise friendly fire
It wasn't that previous total war games were too complex... they just didn't have polish and lacked fully-implemented AI. And by "previous total war games", I mean Empire Total War.
@matthiasv39 umm should i go with shogun 2 or napolean? i mean i would be pretty happy with napolean too since i never played these games and its cheaper
Got this and Fall of the Samurai for 15 bucks last week and both the games are truly amazing(once you get the hang of the tactics though).
just wondering, can CPU factions be attacked by the Ashkiga shogunate if they take over a lot of provinces? or is that just for the human players
There's a complete map, factions and armies mod for Medievil 2. It's really cool.
Yes, absolutely. I actually have a GTX 560 graphics card, and I'm playing it on Ultra. I guarentee that you will play Shogun2 on highest or nearly-highest quality.
@Ltpeppers05 which radeon HD? there are tons of those and if it's not a dedicated one then you're screwed w/ only 1,9Ghz
i got it now and it starts my curser changes and it closes any1 know how to fix? i have 1 dlc and my computers above all the requerments
@jericho5323 it's supposed to be that way. The game is supposed to go back to pure tactical elements, not winning battles due to an ultra specialized unique unit
This is minimum requirements, I am confident that a 7870 is more than effective to plan this game.
I would say, 6 to 16 gb ram, and a 6+ core processor should get you mid to high settings easily.
They have it. It's a mod for M2TW called "Westeros Total War." Look it up.
I was thinking of getting a laptop< which I would mainly use for gaming. Any suggestions?
WTF RUclips WITH ALL THE HD COMMERCIALS! MY PC CANNOT HANDLE IT!
If they do make such a Total War, then it will look nothing like the current franchise. Reason is that the Total War franchise is based upon the concept of the set piece battle and tactical flexibility whereas the WWI era completely eliminates the concept of tactics once entrenched and in WWII you will be doing a lot of company and battalion sized engagements rather than larger full on field battles with thousands of soldiers on each side.
@hekoka this games campaign is very time consuming. 15+ hours easy. But it can be way more, or less, depending on how you play ur cards. Its a fun game no doubt, there is also an option to just launch a custom battle which is just the battle part of the game, and it can last from 5 minutes to 20. Never seen it go higher. I highly reccomend this game.
On High you'll be fine. Possibly Ultra depending on your resolution. You'll need a slightly better GPU to handle Ultra on 1920x1080.
@stonem001 um, no, the pikes (sarrisas) that the phalanxs have in rome total war were developed under Phillip II of Macedon (Alexanders dad). Before, the greeks used normal spears
I have this game and it runs good but every time I exit the game it freezes and I have to open task manager any help?
@MrAtomic2000 theres some info on wiki. and creative assembly did say about making a sequal after Rome total war
@TheExelby not sure, did not played napoleon but my CPU is only q8400 and my graphics card is 9800gtx and I can play this game on mid to high settings
I've downloaded the game to steam but everytime I click play it just sits and thinks for a second then does nothing...any thoughts/advice?
@LordInfamous2011 do you have any idea how hard it would be to work a z axis into a total war game? also the artillery would make it very difficult unless you called it in like a special ability
I bought a hp laptop that has a quad core 1.5 ghz and Im not sure whats the grapics are. And I saw another laptop that have the same graphics but that laptop has a quad core 2.4 ghz. Will that improve gameplay?
This game costs $10 on Amazon as a downloadable game, and the key can be redeemed on Steam. It's worth it.
just ordered my new custom comp, intel i7, asus rampage black edition, nvidia gtx 590, japan here i come!
@a1exell They do have a mod for that, it's called the "Third Age"
I play it for the campaign not for the MP but there are still a lot of people online (4K atm of writing this) so no problem to find a MP match this game is rlly good if you love rts you gonne love it
I just got a custom computer made by a local computer shop they had all the parts i wanted on hand and built it professionally in less than a week the parts would have cost me $1600 on newegg and they charged me $1800 plus installed windows and updated all my drivers and couriered it for $18 i can run metro 2033 on max the wire job they did was amazing and it hasn't even got hot where the fans kick into overdrive definitely the best way to buy a computer if you don't know how to build one.
I have a Sony laptop with an nvidia graphic card im a huge computer tech noob I run the orange box really well will this run on my comp
I really wanna buy an alienware m14x to play games like this (right now I'm using parralels on a mac it works but its really laggy) is it worth the money?
@PCGamerwannabe 20 gb is not enough for a computer. if you want a good ssd drive you should get the "corsair force 3 120gb". thas enough for a couple of games ond other software. consider getting 1-2 1tb harddrive for storage.
the ssd doesnt increase fps in the game, but it decrease loading times significantly
Does the steam page minimum requirements actually make it run on low settings at 30fps+?
+Crona “Thunderhaz2274” Gorgon I had to buy a new card to play it
+Crona “Thunderhaz2274” Gorgon 60*
do u need internet to activate this game? would the E4026 handle this game oh i have 1.5GB of ram 521MG nadivier graphics card and 2.9GHZ prossesor.
@TheTwinkeeBoi
saw it but it doesnt seem to work. even though i just bought a few kindle books so nothing is wrong with my card like it says there is when i try to buy shogun 2.
@Lobos222 They once said in an interview they weren't going to make WW total war, because total war and trenchwars dont go together or something
@Trip506 Uh, mate, get your facts right, this game is not for any console, only on the PC, I should know as I was playing it last week.
I'm buying a laptop to play that game. What would you recommend?
I just thought of something that could change gaming: "Civilisation: Total War"
the ultimate crossover anyone?
Yess
They need to take the total war template (except make it real time, similar to Crusader Kings 2) and apply it to a space 4x game. Like how you make armies (fleets) and move them around but when you attack it goes into a RTS format, with gameplay similar to Homeworld 2. THAT would be my best game ever...
sins of a solar empire?
Filip Uhelak No, Sins of a Solar Empire is just a basic RTS with tech trees. I'm talking about essentially making Crusader Kings 2 in space with Homeworld style battles. Similar to Total War you wouldn't be able to see individual units until battle begins. Only game I've found that is similar to that would be Distant Worlds, but it has no real time battles. Also on a side note I love SOSE, its an amazing game.
good luck optimizing that for the low end systems
Tapabrata Ghosh Why? Its essentially Total War in space just with more mirco managing like you'd find in CK2. I mean come on, if you can play EVE online in a 2000 ship battle on low end systems then an RTS battle with a couple hundred ships really wouldn't be that big of a problem. I mean hell, Homeworld 2 is how old? And that game still looks amazing, and I can run it on a 10 year old computer on high. I'd be fine with them using the same graphics as that, why not they're still gorgeous.
***** theyre not that good, besides rome 2's engine is DAMN inefficient
Would my asus k52j with Intel core i3 - 380 m 2.53 GHz with 4GB of ram be able to run this on at least medium quality?
It's harder than other TW games imo. It's an advanced strategy game. It's not just pointing and clicking a unit to kill another.
Anyone recommend where to get good value components in the UK for this? Desperate to play it!
Hullo guys I'm new to this series, when I'm gonna bought Shogun 2: Total War there's a small line in the cover said: "Need internet connection to install." Does this mean I can't play it offline? And how many discs the difference in the regular and "gold" edition? Thank you.
Kaab Al - Farozi Steam brahh
@S2totalwarfan Thank-you for your input. My brother and I are enjoying the game. I know this response is a bit late, but we were busy battling along. Thanks again!
I have i7 3770K, gtx560, and 8 gb RAM. I can play it on ultra. no problems at all. my processor is at 25 - 30 % when playing with 40 units in a battle. your i5 should do fine. you can play it on max settings and you have a great video card.
upgrade your processor for the future games if you have the cash (:
I don't understand why people don't like this game? because alot of you never played it and hate it because you can't afford it. for everyone else, this is exceptional for a rts game compared to others.
I'v been wanting to play this for ages but have never had a decent set up or enough money to make one i'd like to make one but i don't know where to begin ?
What's your favorite Total War game?? Send me a message on Tweakedculture1 RUclips Channel
This is one of the few games that I actually don't mind losing in cause I still have a blast anyway!
yes it had dlc like that, but they need to make a games based on Ancient America
i really love total war games but i dont have the computer for it does anyone know what type of computer and how much it is going to cost me please respond
It is CA latest game, yes. Is it the most fun? That depends mainly on if you like the time period or not. Many consider it better than Napolean but many prefer the Medieval or Rome over it. It is a personal choice basically. As far as games go it is a solid good game as far as quality goes albeit it does have some things to gripe over like all games do.
@IceFireTrance I have an OC'ed GTX 560 (950mhz GPU clock) and can play it all on high and some ultra settings at 30 fps.
I expect an OC'ed 460 would be able to play it fine with mostly medium settings and no or low AA.
Get Rome and Shogun 2. Rome is the quintessental Total War game, and Shogun 2 is the near perfected Total War game.
should be able to but you may wanna lower the settings
