At 1:38 you can really see how much work the animation had put in to it, every frame in the original was replicated and reanimated in an amazing way my prop’s to the artist.
I sometimes wish I went more down the art path, so I could work on stuff like this. I know I still can, but I never gained a major passion for drawing or animating. Still, it's nice seeing all the different styles. How many different ways one can go about bringing a scene to life.
Honestly I'm not a fan of the kids when they're not aracial. It always looks wonky when I'm used to everyone looking (literally) white (or grey, for the trolls and green for Cal/iope)
Pure white works for the humans cause their characters have nothing to do with race, and I guess giving them an actual race is fine or whatever in for fan work, but it just looks better in my opinion cause they're funny comic characters with no arms half the time
to be fair, Both John and Dave have been mentioned to be White in the early portions of the comic. Rose's background and hair styling makes one think of a pseudo noble european family.... When Hussie said that the characters are supposed to be Aracial, I took that to mean anyone could interpret their looks anyway they want it. I was actually somewhat surprised this wasn't addressed in the "retcon" phase of the comic actually.
