The fact that he not only was able to convincingly portray all the emotions and reactions, but had totally distinct body language, tone, and expression for his feigned innocent fear and his real fear is truly outstanding. Everyone did a great job, but that was amazing.
Love Western short films, and Western movies.
Loved it. Kept me enthralled for the entire movie. Great acting. And beautiful song during the credits. Well, well done.
Thanks for watching matey, I'm glad you had a good time.
Great acting and production. Her teeth are too perfect for the era.
Thanks for watching. The teeth are a little anachronistic but so are the plastic buttons haha
Simply superb. Captivating storyline, compelling dialogue, and top-notch performances. My compliments to all involved, and my thanks for an effort that beautifully serves to exemplify western fans' love of the genre.
Great piece, the initial attempt at feigning innocence was impressive acting. The camera angles accentuated each actor's performance, and the ending specifically left the viewer wanting to know what happened and maintained tension, well done.
The face' wow his acting took me by surprise seemed to be spot on great play had all the elements of what could be said to be a perfect short film.
Thanks so much for watching and the kind words. Glad you enjoyed it.
Totally engaged, with both the writing and cinematic storytelling, and a great performance, mate - the many moods and motives of "The Face" were nailed.
Thanks for watching, we really appreciate it :D Glad you enjoyed it
We need a part 2 seeing that he cocked the hammer at the end
Great short ! Thank you :) Inspiring :)
Thanks for watching. Glad you liked it.
Excellent western production and story.
Fabulous plot segue; dialogue was excellent re: the scenario. Production was excellent, as is common now. The location was apt for the scenario; colors were subtle. It was entertainment. That's the best compliment a film-goer can render. Shot on the cheap as clothing was too modern, and too obvious. Kudos to the actors. Well done staging. If you're going to have a gun fight, have it at the end as the western genre demands. The western genre is vigilantism but the genre's plot satisfies us. At nearly 80 now, a life-long film buff and an admirer of the old Atomic Film shorts, I appreciate your creation. Who was it that said the story remains the same but there's different ways to tell it? Simon Elrahi was an excellent villain. The theme song was a first class ballad; well performed. Beautifully sang. Thks.
Wow, thanks so much for the kind words and thanks for watching. I'm glad this short film has been able to reach so many fans of the genre and was something I never anticipated.
I don't know who originally phrased that saying about storytelling but it's incredibly accurate and I hope we were able to do that with The Face.

Very nice..lovely...
Thanks for watching :D
Any chance of a part 2?
You'd have to ask the writer. Find him on Instagram.
Amazing work guys !
Thanks for watching matey :D
Phenomenal short, I really love the aesthetics of this, the colours and the shallow depth of field creates a really unique look. May I ask how you achieved to get those colours? I'm also interested in what lenses you used. Maybe vintage glass, Helios 44 lenses or something?
Thanks for watching :D
The colour grade was done on Davinci Resolve, with a few different LUT's after correcting and unifying all the shots. We shot on Black Magic Pocket 4k and the lens we used was a vintage Angenieux 25mm-250mm Zoom.
Very cool!
Thanks for watching :D
Great work as usual guys, amazing job!
Coming from Duckpond I consider that a huge compliment. Thanks for watching :D
Great work! Looks beautiful too!
I am really satified by watching a super but very short movie. I wished some more. SQ..
Great movie and really enjoyed it thank you so much.
Thanks so much for watching :D
Great littel movie. Really liked it.
Thanks for watching :D
That was fun as Hell to watch! I had only one concern. Her hat. Had she worn something alon the lines like Sandra Locke worn in Outlaw Josey Wales it would had been perfect. Looking forward for more.
Her hat? Lot more period authentic than leather, for crying out loud.
this was good.. good job .. God Bless
Excellent job I love this !!!
This was great
Good one!
Good film
Thanks for watching :D
Really good one
Great job! This ruled!
Thanks for watching. I'm glad you liked it.
simply wow
Elizabeth Garrett ….
nice touch…
you are your fathers daughter …
This was awesome. What camera did you use? I have always wanted to make films but I can't decide on what camera to start with. I know the camera isn't as important as the story, location, lighting etc. but still want something that will look decent. Do you have any recommendations for a beginner? thanks in advance.
Hey matey, thanks for watching. We shot on the Blackmagic 4k Pocket Cinema Camera.
Straight up I'd recommend a film school that was 90% practical over theory. That's where I met my crew and collaborating is something you can't learn on your own.
If you just wanna go out and shoot stuff, learn how to frame a shot and get your basic storytelling and editing down: if you've got a decent smart phone the cameras on those are quite good.
Excellent!❤❤❤
She was my first, the first one I ever killed. OK, so what. Sometimes dialog just tries to hard.
A few flaws here. "everything : was to new, to clean, one day in the field would not produce this kind of clean. If you're going to do a western, then make sure your boots, saddles cloths, leather are tarnished. You need a prop manager who over looks these kind of things. Someone who's spent some time in the saddle, the outdoors.
Keen eye; we’ll spotter. Thanks for the feedback, we’ll keep that in mind for future films 😊
Damn that girl is gorgeous……nice face
Interesting just a moment in time . I didn't understand it . Just a moment in time I was the fly on the wall.
Hello, how can we connect with you regarding your short film??
A valient effort at best but overdone ! However ,, A lot of these shorts try to get a lot in a short time ! Production value is lacking and they try to hard with the "western accents and thick Southern drawl dialects ! The wardrobes look like they are out of a fashion magazine or from a rack at a western clothing store snd are to new and to clean ! I guess there's not a speck of dirt on anyone anywhere in that wild west. Ladies tilted hat and all ! Along with mediocre acting there's NOT enough attention to detail to be believable !
Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching. Definitely agree that the costumes needed some aging, wearing and tear. Most times productions are spread quite thin and attention to detail is usually the first to go when you're powering through the shoot.
I don't have a keen ear for accents and there weren't any dialect coaches on set so I'll have to take your word for it haha
Did you think we did anything well?
Shame that simple "entertainment" has to be laced with taking the Lord's name in vain.
Harsh times, harsh people and harsh language
@@6brotherspictures Agree; although "harsh" is subjective and fluid. However, wouldn't you agree that language can be "harsh" without blasphemy?
Yes, I know this is a minority view and those of us offended by such talk are few. Is such offense by design or by callous indifference?
Why not amaze us with your command of the English language? Why not plumb the depths of it's almost infinite subtilties to reveal man's depravity?
Otherwise, despite the super clean wardrobe, enjoyed the plot, the acting, the photography.
@@dc-wp8oc Maybe if these character's were poets, philosophers and pacifists they might speak more eloquently but as they were written; they're lawless, godless, thieves and murderers and speak that way. There should be a contrasts within the characters from their costume to their language and the more wholesome characters such as lawman tend to speak more respective of their fellow man and religious beliefs.
So in short no; I don't believe harsh/coarse/offensive language should exclude blasphemy. Especially for villainous characters.
@@6brotherspictures The beauty of the English language, is the almost endless number of words available for expression of thought. Why not explore those options?
Eloquent speech is not confined to poets, philosophers and pacifists, just as coarse speech in not the sole property of the lawless, godless, thieves, or murderers.
In fact, more character intrigue and mystique can be created when the character speaks, "uncharacteristically".
For example, the Doc Holliday character in the Tombstone film, was a "southern gentleman" with manners and language to boot. Yet, he was a killer. See the paradox?
Offending Christians is easy. Making a worthwhile film is difficult. Other than the point mentioned, your film effort was enjoyable.
Royale woke.
p̲r̲o̲m̲o̲s̲m̲ 😴
The costumes are... not good... and the guy with a modern bolo tie made in China 😢 and the bolos are from the 30/40 ...
