I am often very positive at my job, which can be very stressful and exhausting. My manager told me he hired me because I'm capable and I have a good attitude. He, himself, is very grumpy as a person but around me, he gets goofy and playful. Others have said he acts differently with me than with others and that makes me happy. I really just like to spread positivity and hope around. Recently I have been feeling overwhelmed by work, and my boss saw that. He tried so hard to cheer me up, he really did. And it makes me happy thinking about it because he wasn't like that when I first met him. I'm hoping to continue to be a positive light during these dark times.
I know this isn't directly related to the video, but even if they aren't your crush, it can be a good way to win friends.

The bit about showing your positive side is really interesting to me. I personally have made people who were having a bad day smile just by smiling at them. In my experience, unflinching positivity is often reciprocated, and people will associate that reciprocation with you! Please do your best to take care of yourself. ❤️
I don't think that the other person is always smiling because their mood is higher. Sometimes if someone smiles at me when I'm in a bad mood, I'll just smile back for politeness, and the same usually goes for if you are having a bad time and you need to go to an event where you interact with people a lot. This isn't what's happening every time, but you should think about whether they are actually happier or just being polite.
I'm a negative bastard and I personally have made people who were having a good day cry just by telling them all the reasons why life is not worth living.

1. Giving gifts for them…and yourself
”You look up from your latest feed, and see them looking at you, with his big, dumb smile upon their face. It does make you nervous, but you like them, so you think it’s alright. You go back to watching your phone, eyes skimming over each pizel as of in a trance, before a soft ”hey.” Sounds from their side and you feel a gentle, small nudge against your arm. You look down and see a lovely little box, all of your favourite colors. They are so thoughtful, you think, as you open up the box, eyes starting to shine as you see the absolutely aforable little strawberry bracelet inside. Where did they even find this?! You lift your gaze up in thanks, and put it on, but another ”hey, lookie!” Interrupts you.
You see that big dumb smile again, and as they pull their over-sized hoodie sleeve you have repeatedly pestered for them to get tailored correctly, your heart does strange little flips in your chest as a yellow little sunflower bracelet is revealed from their sleeve, the same as yours. You feel warm, and happy, in a way that makes a big, dumb smile start to peek from your face, which you hold back valiantly until they take your hand and you feel your bracelets press together. Your face bursts into a million sun-lit smiles and your cheeks get so warm you fear you might lose blood.
”For our companionship!” They giggle, and relax against your shoulder, glimpsing at your overjoyed face. ”You’re so cute, y’know?” They don’t give further explanation, but looking down and seeing your matching bracelets, contrasting perfectly to your artist’s eye gives you all the validation you could ever need.”
2. Ask them for a favor
”Uh, hey? I’m forgot my backpack at home, can we study together?” They fidget when you look at them, nervous and anxiety probably ripping through them. You huff, you’ve already known each other for three years, what’s there to even ask for. You put your phone down, invite them to sit next to you, and once that’s done, you pull out your math book from your backpack that you yourself almost left at home, and fell into an ease as they relaxed and thanked you. The teacher starts her lecturing, and you daydream avid watching them watch you make repeated mistakes onto the study book.
They always come to you if they need something, you realize as they start sneakily correcting the results of five years of public education. Help with cooking, which they know you are both terrible at, missing pencils or phones, plugging in their charger if you’re at a sleepover and they’re too lazy to get up from the bed, and they ask you, with those puppy eyes that tell you they will gladly do the same for you, you don’t resist, even if you could. What’s the point when you can use this as leverage to banter with them into doing things for you? They might whine and cry to you about being mean, but you know it’s only on the way to do what you asked them to do.
You don’t really…even mind doing things for them. Sharpening their pencils when they and their dumb self leave their sharpener at home gives with it the strange pleasant feeling of chattering and teasing. Menial tasks which they could do all by themselves, but no, they leave it to you, they trust you enough to get their lunch from the vending machine and not give them food poisoning by mixing in too much salt. You have threatened to do so many times, but they still give you their money without a second glance away from the mobile game they are trying to level up in.
Class has ended. You start packing up your things, leaving the book for them to study for the last, before looking up at seeing their eyes looking at you. They smile, and your stomach’s butterflies take off all at once as they thank you, yet again. You nod stiffly, and then start ushering them into the next class, all too eager to study together and daydream all over again.
3. Use the triangle eye contact method
”You stare at them awkwardly, unsure of how to proceed. This is like, maybe your fifth or sixth meeting. They seem to be quite invested, chattering small talk as you sit on a park bench close together. You look at them, and when they look at you, you feel a strange comfort in how they don’t stare as so many others do. Instead, you feel as though they are giving you attention without overly exaggerating it. You don’t know why, but you feel like talking to them would be nice. ”Your…vest is nice..” you say quietly, looking at them as they beam up, smiling and showing a gap in their teeth. They are still looking at you, but they seem so confident and not creepy. ”Really? Thanks! I love your hair!” They smile at you, and you soon find a topic to start conversing about, cat fur and the types of it, feeling relaxed as they seem to be happy to lead, all the while listening to you and looking at you in a way that makes you feel more comfortable and steady.
It feels cliche, but you think you might have found the perfect conversation partner. They have a way of paying attention to you that makes you feel really listened to and seen. You think that you’ll probably seek them out again, not only because they make you feel listened to, but because their jokes are *really* funny.”
4. Show your positive side.
”You have had a horrible day today. Your mom got into an argument with her boyfriend and you just ahted it, it ruined your day entirely to see how sad she was. You get onto the bus, next to your very best friend, and watch them just light up like a christmas tree. Smiling so wide it should already have broken their face multiple times, they launch into a random observation about the sunrise seen in the bus window, giggling at their own joke and smiling at you. ”You seem down, friend? Let me cheer you up!” They giggled, and pulled the silliest face you have ever seen them pull. Despite the heaviness in your heart, you snort, and it just makes them so much happier to see you happy. Being with them feels like rays of sunshine punching your face until it smiles, and it lets your forget how tearful your mom was when she bid you goodbye for the school. But just thinking that sinks your mood right back down, and your friend notices, they dumb empath that they are. ”You know what food there is in the cafeteria today?” They whisper to you, ultra secretively, side glancing this way and that. You ask what, and they burst into this evil genius sort of grin. ”I hear they’re ordering Taco Bell for the entire school!” They burst from excitement and your jaw drops. You love Taco Bell! You adore it! You launch right back into action, conspiring on how to steal more for ”take-out” and giggling with them when they decide to go vegan for the day and confuse the staff.
You feel…alright. How in the everloving God could anybody stay sad when they’re with someone this cheery? Your mind is taken over by excitement and fun, and when you go back home, all smiles and happiness, your mother cracks a small one of her own.
5. Make a good first impression.
”Hello!” You hear a happy squeak and look up from your desk to see a sparkling smile. You look up and down, this must be the new employee. You sigh and get up from your chair, walking around it and to them, staring hard into their soft eyes. ”You must be the manager i’ve heard about here! I really admire you, and am happy to be under your tutelage!” They announce in a voice that’s bright but not blinding, and you soften. You watch as they dig around tehir pockets and then present you a little keychain, purple in color and with a blueberry pie at the end. ”I tried to find something that you could use. The pie can be used as a mini pigbank.” They tap at a hole on top of the pie, and you find yourself smiling. A gift? This early in the morning? ”Aren’t you sycophant? Now then, shall we go tour the place?” They respond with an animated yes, and sprint into action, careful not to fall. It’s always lovely to meet such energetic people, you think, looking at them from behind and smiling.
You think that your days will become much brighter with such a person around.”

Haha yeah same, mostly because im too shy and very scared of rejection. Never actually tried pursuing a person i actually really liked or maybe even love secretly. I usually get to shy and awkward.. So i let them come after me oe have it be an in the moment sorta thing so i cant back out. Or just approach someone who I'm not as shy around. Really, if im super shy around you, it usually means i really like you alot secretly either friend or crush or you make me uncomfortable, or they're new. This made me chuckle.

Maybe I'm weird, but I hate asking for favors, and also drag when people ask me one... I guess it depends on the type of favor being asked.
Ask for a small favor first and then ask for a bigger favor :)
@@Psych2go I guess life has taught me to try to be as independent as I could be, and maybe that's my predicament. Besides that, in regards to some type of big favors, I hate using people, and also to be used. But overall, I do see your logic and makes perfect sense. I was just thinking out loud lol

That’s interesting, the Triangle Technique let’s you also observe emotions in the other person‘s face very actively. Maybe that is why the other person is wired to like it. Also it lets you better respond to those observed emotions.

I dont exactly have a crush but I will probably use some of these for people I havent met yet
I can speak confidently that these all are EXTREMELY helpful, they won't land you the guy/gal necessarily, but they DO go a LONG way.
With my current crush, I semi-frequently give her SUPER affordable gifts, and try to save the slightly bigger ones for holidays, and so far she's been very receptive of it. She tries to play cool with it, but one time when she was high as a kite she got EXTREMELY giddy over a gift I got her. Just be careful that you don't spend more than what you've got, and even if you can afford a ton, try to keep things simple. If it's something that's only a buck or so, then that's fine, just don't buy a bunch of $20-something dollar gifts (or more) if you two aren't dating yet. Keep it short and sweet, and save the bigger stuff for when it feels more appropriate.
In my case, since we work alongside each other, there's a ton of wiggle room to ask for favors, try not to overdo this, but do it sparingly and it can go a long way, the other person will feel good about themselves (provided you aren't overdoing it, that would make them think you're lazy, this one is an in moderation point as well).
The "triangle technique" is basically a way to make constant eye contact without necessarily turning things into a staring competition. While that may be lighthearted, cheeky fun upon a request, it's honestly not a bad idea to try out the triangle technique. I've caught myself staring at her eyes for a brief moment sometimes, though it's hard to do it for long periods of time in a work setting admittedly. I might do this on accident, but I'll try to be ever so slightly more mindful of it
Showing your positive side not only works with relationships, but also friendships (I know the word pursue can apply to more than just a relationship, but let's face it. A ton of the people watching this are either extremely shy, or probably have a hard time pursuing their own crush, and this is a video that can really help out with that). Now it's important to remember that not every single day is going to be a happy, positive, go lucky attitude kind of day. But if you can try to be in a positive, uplifting attitude, even if you're not necessarily in the best of mood let's say at least 80% of the time, then that'll go a long way. I've learned it's done wonders for my situation
Make a good first impression. Now let's face it, it's not going to be everything, but it will matter immensely early on. The only time it really has a chance to wear off is if you manage to talk to this person for well over a year, and even then sometimes that won't help. Good impressions last a LONG time, not necessarily forever, but a good good while depending on the person. My first impression in my case was kind of ass, but eventually once she got to know the "real" me (for the most part anyways), she started to open up a bit more. So be a bit careful with these, but not so much to the point where it causes paranoia
