The ULTIMATE eargasm: play this side by side with Queen's version. Both are in sync melodically and in tempo. Total nerdgasm, eargasm, and audio pleasure.
@yard farmer Ended up mixing this in Audacity as there were just a few parts that I couldn't get perfectly synced otherwise. Also, there were some parts where I lowered the volume on one of the two tracks to let the other shine. The beginning still sounds a little off to me, but here it is: drive.google.com/file/d/1WtsRpoTKGMhXi79_AOayxNOWJdX9CvVF/view?usp=sharing

Greetings from a clarinettist from the Haifa (Israel) Symphony. There is soooooooo much of this stuff out there. Geeks on every instrument do something mildly interesting based upon pop culture. Ho Hum. Almost all of it puts me to sleep. But.... THIS IS AWESOME!!! Second of all it's soooo well done in every way. First of all it's a blast to listen to. My hat is off to all who participated, but especially to whoever put this together.
I’ve seen full orchestra performances of this song as well. The form and structure of this song has clear classical influence which lends itself nicely to a wide variety of performances. Lovely performance!
This is probably one of the best collaborations I have heard. It is like a great movie, you have keep watching it again and again because you keep seeing (hearing) things you missed the previous times. Chris, great job editing. The sychronzation was cool. Wonderful job to you all. Thanks for encouraging music. It can make a real impact on people's lives!
No Chris, thank you (and everyone who took part in this) for giving us such a wonderful arrangement of a classic masterpiece. Seriously guys, you are at the top. An inspiration for many of us around the world who want nothing else but to keep playing better and perhaps someday even create our own awesome projects.
So honest question here; I’m assuming lots of people who clicked on this video play the Trombone. But I do not. It would appear that they are reading sheet music of some sorts. How do you know where each note is? I play the piano, and if I pointed to “Middle C” someone could easily see it, and play a C-note. However, I’m assuming that this is not the case with this instrument. Is it just a feeling thing after a while? Are Trombonists really wizards?
You make a buzzing sound with your lips and tighten them to the right tightness and move the slide to the right place and the note you want will come out
We spend a lot of time touching the bell. No, really. 3rd position is just "above" the bell (on the mouthpiece side of the bell), and 4th is just "below" it. So most of us will extend a finger or 2 toward the bell when we're playing a note in 3rd or 4th position. You can see several of the players in this video doing that. Even better, a lot of the notes can be played at more than one slide position. When you get trigger valves involved, it's even more fun!
Was so fortunate to see Marshall Gilkes in concert. Great solo here! Also: 2.3M views, generating 57k likes. *math* ~50k trombonists and aspiring trombonists, each watching this 20+ times each. The rest is your adoring public and music lovers of all kinds. I await each collaboration!
