The Vedic cosmological model demonstrated in the video is in accordance with the Vedic scripture called Srimad Bhagavatam. Srimad Bhagavatam is the main one of a set of Hindu scriptures called “Puranas”. The only God for the devotees of Vishnu (called Vaishnavas) is God Krishna, but there are many powerful expansions of the original God Krishna, Vishnu being one of these expansions. And for Krishna, the main one of all the existing scriptures is Srimad Bhagavatam, which is said to be the Sound Incarnation of Himself. In this scripture it is very clear that the Earth is flat, that it is in the vertical center of the universe, that there is above and below, that there is no gravity, etc. The confusion that is caused is that there is another Vedic scripture very popular in India called Surya-siddhanta. This scripture describes the periodic movements of the Sun, Moon and Planets with great precision, and also presents formulas for calculating the times of solar and lunar eclipses. Thus, Surya-siddhanta is a more practical scripture, materially speaking. But the confusion that arises is that in this scripture the Earth is supposedly spherical, and its cosmology is more or less in line with modern Western cosmology. The crucial point is that in the scripture itself it is stated that it was given by a servant of the Sun-Demigod (Surya) to the demon named Maya more than 2 million years ago. At this point of divergence, the intellectuals and devotees have the necessary information to choose their authoritative scripture. Because it is practical in terms of astronomical calculations, the intellectuals opt for Surya-siddhanta. And because it is the authoritative word of Krishna, and for many other reasons, the devotees opt for Srimad-Bhagavatam. It is interesting to note that there are unexplained problems in the cosmology of Surya-siddhanta, as well as in the cosmology of Srimad-Bhagavatam. However, it is said in the Bhagavatam that the material universe is unfathomable even to its creator, Lord Brahma, just as a father does not fully understand his son. Personally, I have complete confidence in the cosmology of Srimad-Bhagavatam because it is in agreement with other essential scriptures such as Vishnu-Purana and Mahabharata, and is considered the essence of wisdom by the most prominent sages, as stated by Krishna.

1:07 "This is only possible if the earth is circular." I respect the author's opinion, but that's not true. Many "flat earth" models I know can explain how we experiment day/night in different countries. "Diametrically" means "a straight line segment passing through the center of a figure or body". There is a diameter in both spheres ("globe" model) and circles ("flat" model). There is a center in both spheres and circles, and there is an opposite side (to the center) in both spheres and circles. 1:33 "Unfortunately the Sanskrit verse in which the word parimaṇḍala is used is not included in the video's dialogue. One needs to see the specific verse reference and context in which the word parimaṇḍala is used to describe Bhārata-kanda. The word parimaṇḍala can just as often mean round or circular, and it is not a definitive evidence for the Earth being spherical. Something can be circular on a flat surface such as a round-about on a motorway. The devotees of Krishna speak of Vraja-maṇḍala parikrama, for example, meaning to walk in a rotating or circumambulating fashion around the maṇḍala (circle) of Vraja." (Māyeśvara dāsa, The Flat Earth According to Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam) 1:35 "In the Fifth Canto the earth is directly described as the vast disc of Bhū-maṇḍala. The word bhū-golam, or 'earth-globe', generally refers to the sphere of the universe, and the Bhāgavatam seems to make no direct reference to the earth as a small globe." (Vedic Cosmography and Astronomy VCA 3.C Planets as Globes in Space). 1:42 "As is the case with many subjects that Śrīla Prabhupāda taught, we have to consider that Śrīla Prabhupāda sometimes answered questions with seemingly contrary replies. In this conversation, he was asked directly is the Earth round like a ball, or round like a plate?" (Māyeśvara dāsa, The Flat Earth According to Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam) --- "Satsvarūpa: Śrīla Prabhupāda, are the planets shaped liked balls or more like plates? Because it's, it's hard to understand, 'cause they're called dvīpas, 'islands'. Their roundness is the roundness of a plate or like a ball? Prabhupāda: Which one? Satsvarūpa: The earth planet? Prabhupāda: If it is like a tree, then these things can be as dvīpa, island." (Morning Walk, March 18, 1976, Mayapur) A dvīpa is not like a ball, it's more like a plate. "Bhakti-prema: Earth is round and flat both, together. Prabhupāda: Yes." (Discussions about Bhū-maṇḍala, July 5 1977, Vṛndāvana ) A plate is also round and flate (like an island). 1:52 "When it was pointed out, for example by Bhakti-prema Dāsa in the conversation of June 28, 1977 (Vṛndāvana) that Varāhadeva lifted the entire Bhū-maṇḍala and not simply what we think of as the Earth globe, Śrīla Prabhupāda accepted his version because it was backed up by the śāstra." (Māyeśvara dāsa, The Flat Earth According to Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam) "O Lord, as the peaks of great mountains become beautiful when decorated with clouds, Your transcendental body has become beautiful because of Your lifting the earth (Bhū-maṇḍala) on the edge of Your tusks." (SB 3.13.41) 1:59 "... just like islands". Islands are not spheres (balls). 2:14 About the "mainstream science" and its perception of the universe: "Yaśodā-nandana: Prabhupāda, what is the shape of this tiny portion of earth or whatever place we are on? What is the shape of this, whatever you call... Prabhupāda: Ask them. Why don't you ask them? Sometimes they say flat, sometimes they say it is round. Why don't you ask them, the scientists? Yaśodā-nandana: We don't accept what they say. Prabhupāda: No, no. Formerly they were under the impression the world is flat. And now they are saying round. So what they'll say after few years?" (Discussions about Bhū-maṇḍala, July 5 1977, Vṛndāvana) Hare Krishna!
We need to understand the context of each quote. 1. When Prabhupada said "globe", was the word used to directly describe the shape of this "planet" (Bharata Khanda)? 2. Was Prabhupada speaking about Bharata Khanda, Bhu-mandala, or Bhu-gola? 3. Please provide references. My answer: When Prabhupada was directly questioned about this subject, Prabhupada said our "planet" is like an island (dvīpa) or "round and flat". Please see the references above (my first comment). Srimad Bhagavatam also says our "planet" is like an island (dvīpa). Srimad Bhagavatam says our Universe is like an egg, but it doesn't say our "planet" is like an egg. Why Srimad Bhagavatam doesn't say Bharata Khanda is like an orange or Bharata Khanda is like a lemon, or like a ball? Of course, some people can imagine there is a spherical island somewhere, but Prabhupada also says: "Take the version of Bhagavatam… we have to accept shastra." (Discussion on Bhu-mandala, July 5, 1977, Vrindavana) Thank you. Hare Krishna!
Read the Canto 5 again it clearly states BHU MANDELA as a different "planet" and BHARAT- VARSHA(Earth) is a complete different. Whereas JAMPUDIP is an island On BHU MADELA AND there consists the mountain SEMERU in the center of the BHU MANDELA. And one more thing if you read the lines carefully it states Bhu mandela as a planetary system and not as a Universal system. Second thing, don't confuse BHARAT-VARSHA(EARTH) with BHU MANDELA( HEAVENLY PLANET)
This is an example of the fallacy argumentum ad verecundiam. Don't swallow this "vrishapurisham!" Sheesh! Wake up! Venus has phases. Jupiter has moons. Take a look! Even better, look at the Hubble images.

A plate is also round and flate (like an island).
1:52 "When it was pointed out, for example by Bhakti-prema Dāsa in the conversation of June 28, 1977 (Vṛndāvana) that Varāhadeva lifted the entire Bhū-maṇḍala and not simply what we think of as the Earth globe, Śrīla Prabhupāda accepted his version because it was backed up by the śāstra." (Māyeśvara dāsa, The Flat Earth According to Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam)
"O Lord, as the peaks of great mountains become beautiful when decorated with clouds, Your transcendental body has become beautiful because of Your lifting the earth (Bhū-maṇḍala) on the edge of Your tusks." (SB 3.13.41)
1:59 "... just like islands". Islands are not spheres (balls).
2:14 About the "mainstream science" and its perception of the universe:
"Yaśodā-nandana: Prabhupāda, what is the shape of this tiny portion of earth or whatever place we are on? What is the shape of this, whatever you call...
Prabhupāda: Ask them. Why don't you ask them? Sometimes they say flat, sometimes they say it is round. Why don't you ask them, the scientists?
Yaśodā-nandana: We don't accept what they say.
Prabhupāda: No, no. Formerly they were under the impression the world is flat. And now they are saying round. So what they'll say after few years?"

Hare Krishna!
There are 21 Prabhupada quotes when he refers to the earth as a globe
We need to understand the context of each quote.
1. When Prabhupada said "globe", was the word used to directly describe the shape of this "planet" (Bharata Khanda)?
2. Was Prabhupada speaking about Bharata Khanda, Bhu-mandala, or Bhu-gola?
3. Please provide references.
My answer:
When Prabhupada was directly questioned about this subject, Prabhupada said our "planet" is like an island (dvīpa) or "round and flat".
Of course, some people can imagine there is a spherical island somewhere, but Prabhupada also says:
"Take the version of Bhagavatam… we have to accept shastra." (Discussion on Bhu-mandala, July 5, 1977, Vrindavana)
Thank you.

Sri Lanka is very similar to jampudepa. Infact even now sri lanka Is and was called jampudepa..
This is an example of the fallacy argumentum ad verecundiam. Don't swallow this "vrishapurisham!" Sheesh! Wake up! Venus has phases. Jupiter has moons. Take a look! Even better, look at the Hubble images.
Sounds like same garbage of Bible and Quran
