The same thing can be done using the cross fader or volume faders. When slip mode is engaged the track still plays in the background which is to keep it in time.
Yeah this looks super cool and fun to watch, but it's an unnecessarily complicated way to do something that you could do with the faders (other than the loop cutting part of it, which is definitely unique to this method with the slip mode)
You have a knob that controls the sensitivity of the jog, turned all the way on the left will stop and start the record as any digital player; turned on the right instead, it will slowly break when stopped and slowly start when pressing play, just like would do a turntable when pressing the button start/stop. Maybe it's just a bit on the right, enough to not make it move too much when slightly touched.
Thibault Maekelbergh he has the ‘slip’ feature on... this means he can scratch/backspin/stop the track & it will continue to play underneath. Very useful!
What happened to switching line to phono for quick cuts? This shows a lack of understanding and an abuse of effects. Pretty sure slip was designed for turntablists, not lazy "djs" lol
It doesn't really matter what it was "designed for". Once it's there it's anyone's take at it. Tools are meant to be used, otherwise we should still be djing as 1980. With 3 decks he'd never be able to do quick cuts like this switiching line to phono. I personally found this very creative
The most skillful part of this is selecting 3 tracks that work so well together

Can’t do this on 3000s tho haha
Ive never seen such a thing or a use or that, in this manner. Effin impressive bro. 🎉
Yeah. Slip mode. Slip mode is the greatest...
As a shorty were you also told if you can't be part of the greatest, you gotta be the greatest yourself?

Impossibile!
Ths is good a idea !!!!
How is this not going to affect the tracks being in sync with the small nudges the jogs make when touching them?

You're not nudging the jog. The track continues in the background regardless of what you do with the jog wheel.
