I wanted to say to you thank you so much for playing the Aurora content. I love your reactions to her. I discovered her about a year ago she will pull at you're heart strings I love her music so much.
When I'm feeling down I will just start listening to her and it will make me happy again and also she will make me cry just listening to her beautiful words to her songs. Aurora started writing this song when she was 9, adding to it when she was a bit older. The Norwegian songstress explained to The 405: "It's a reminder of how important it is to not give yourself away for anyone else's love. Way too many people tend to stay in relationships where they go through verbal and physical abuse. It's a huge issue that needs awareness."
You nailed it! And, you might already know this, but she makes it clear that songs such as this one were not her own experience. She is a very self-contained human. But they are her observations of what dilemmas we humans can get ourselves into.

@@MugnifyRTS She did write the song. It is the story she is telling in her songs that might not be what she went through, but what she observes other people go through. For instance, she has not been in an abusive relationship or been suicidal. But she writes very well about these human dilemmas.
She wrote this song about trying to find acceptance at school. She was bullied a lot for being a bit different. In primary school mostly.
@@rosemay75 That was part of the reason, yes, and the impetus to write the song. She said that it got her to contemplating why we seek love from sources that aren't offering it to us. She had also observed this about others' relationships. Wonderful observations and contemplations by her 11 year old self.
Love this performance. "Under the Water" from this same show is a MUST. Very intense energy on that one.
Also....I gotta say, Aurora looks hot af in this show. Everyone always talks about how "sweet and pure and angelic" she is. And yeah, she _is_ all that....but she's also a badass sexy woman. She rocks the undercut & braids look so good. Especially when she spazzes out while dancing and whips her braids around. Yeah....she's a certified grade-A hottie.

Hi, this is a very important song. Love must not be one-sided. "Kiss the ground beneath your feet" is said in simple terms, as it should not be. Begging for love is wrong. Then it is not the right partner. If AURORA has only opened the eyes of a few people, then she has done everything right. AURORA has again packed everything into beautiful music with a great voice.

In the music video of hers it was filmed on Island and it was very cold. She had to climb up on a ladder very high up without any protection on the ground if the wind would blow her down. She could be killed if she fell down. Great video, you should watch it.
This is my favorite song from her. She has so many great ones but this one is.. just so very relatable. I first heard it at a time that I felt it so deeply. A lot of her songs can be taken so personally it feels like. I took this one as a song that mirrored a feeling in a relationship I had at the time of putting in far more than I was getting.

Aurora is very funny! She wrote this song when she was eleven at a time when she wanted to be liked by a particular group of girls at school. She realized at that young age that their friendship wasn’t worth it if she couldn’t be liked for being her true self.

In one of her last concerts, the power went out. She did a bit of stand up comedy and a fan came on stage and they cut each other's hair. Aurora no longer has her 2 long strands.
