  • From the 1920's to the 80's, Lake Shawnee was an exciting tourist destination in the heart of the Application Mountains of West Virginia. Today, only a few rides and memories exist from the old park set on the grounds of a long history of tragedy. Join me for a exploration of what is known to be one of the most haunted locations in the state!

Thank you for an informative and wonderful video. This is the first time that I have seen any of your videos. I have seen different shows and videos about Lake Shawnee. You gave information that I never knew about and have never seen before. You kept it simple but real and it made for a fantastic video. Keep up the wonderful work.

Saw things in this video I hadn't seen in any others. Don't live to far away from Lake Shawnee & have known about it for a while. Just haven't had the time to drive down 77. Coincidentally, my Mom's maiden name is Clay. They are originally from Virginia. I haven't taken the time to connect the dots but I'm certain there's a definite DNA connection. Been questioning what would happen if I did visit. Would the spirits know I'm connected to the Clays?

    • @DraysWorld

Maybe that’s a good way to find out! If you live close, definitely make your way there. You have to call ahead and make reservations for a tour but it’s worth it.

People who believe in hauntings are stupid. Accidents haooen everywhere. Death is part of life. More people died at the contemporary resort at disneyworld than this place. Anywhere that has large amounts of people raises the risk that one of them will pass.

Has anyone ever asked why they do not clear the crap growing all over it? Its bad enough we couldn't get into the fenced area - we could barley see the items within it to get decent pictures - even of the plaques within the fenced in area. Its all grown up everywhere. It looks good in your video. I was there yesterday morning and it was terrible. Ridiculous.
By the way...how available are they when you call? If I were to have called yesterday morning...would they have been immediately available for a personal tour? I would find it hard to tour something so grown up though.

why would the Indians attack? There has to be something missing from that story. I dont think anyone would do anything to anyone's children. Maybe trace that land history, maybe that land owner did something to the Indians of that land back then an on going fight for the land that was theirs anyway? Who ever just started to say the Indians killed those children are leaving out a big part of what really happen to cover up the truth.
