I like the way you do the pocket liners and also like the way you pull the cloth to the side pocket to give you some cloth to work with later. Don't understand the haters. Thanks for the video.
This was a great and professional video that is easy to understand. I've seen installers using Polymat 777x glue for better adhesion than regular spray glue.
Good clean work - Thanks man for making this! It's not cheap to have cloth put on! But with your help people can now at least have a fair shot at a professional looking install on there own. Wish i had seen it years ago as i have passed up many of cloth jobs in fear lol. It's really not that bad at all. Just gotta take your time and think before you staple ;) thx again
Awesome man, me and my dad are doing one right now, and out of nowhere we stop and look at each other like, wait... are we doing this right? we just jumped in without knowing anything and somehow got it right, and thanks to your vids lol i know that we did it right xD
@Odhinn222 The spot is used to protect the cloth under the One ball and should be changed before it wears out. The wear and tear is from the impact of breaking and people that 'tap' the one ball to get a tight reack. If you didn't have a spot, a whole would wear through in no time. If you notice all the white/wear spots from behind the head string, these are actuall bald spots from the cue ball taking off from a stand still plus some downward force on the cue ball from the break.
These videos are very informative. I am using these videos to supplement my training that I will start in about a week. I am hoping these videos will be of great assistance in preparation for professional training.

@Odhinn222 its called a sharpie. they come in different colors and you can put a dot on your cloth of whatever color you want. i have a dark blue dot on my euro blue cloth.
Stretching the cloth to the playing surface removes any wrinkles from the packaging. Essentially when he showed the foot and head of the table stapling is how you do the rest of the surface felt. As for the remaining flaps at the side pockets for the rails you trim to fit neatly so there isn't any flaps pushing out the pocket gully or sticking out where it is visible. Some people will also use the spray glue super 77 to adhere the felt for the stretching part of putting the felt down on the edge
I agree, I'm a table mechanic and even with the fabric based ones made by master (the newer peel off ones are a dream compared to the lick & stick) I've actually thought about having a stamp made. Maybe I should.
The thumbnail gave the impression you used the glue instead of staples... I like staples, works well with my table, but I’m interested in the glue.. Can you explain the benefits or drawbacks of both?..
I guess it doesn’t matter which side goes up or maybe it does and if it does how can you tell which side goes up if it’s not marked on the cloth pretty simple question probably the only question that anybody would ask in putting a pool cable cloth down.
The cloth comes with a sticker on it to tell you which is the top side, and yes it does matter, the top side and the underside are very different. A professional installer does not need the sticker to tell which is the top side, but it's there as a reminder for anyone else who might not know.
@homebilliards This video seems cut in half at the 3:22 mark of it. It changes there to putting cloth on the rails from installing the bed cloth. I would like to see a the rest of the bed cloth installation including demonstration of cutting and stapling the bed cloth into the pockets. Overall this is the best series on the internet but this one is funky cuz it isn't complete. And it excludes exactly what I want to see bummer!!
I was trained very similar to the way you work....recently though I covered a 9ft gandy big g....with simonis.....boy you talk about stretching.....with regards to the rails I had to learn a different stretch technique....stretch then stable at Least 1/2 above or below point of stretch
Some here .will you make another video and show how you Install pool table Cloth. The step you cut out is what most people want to know how to do. Will you show step by step of how you cut the pockets also Thanks.
I have one pocket on my pool table, that for some reason, just won't except balls that touch the rail first. It's a corner pocket, the same shot on any other table or even the other three pockets on my table will except the exact same shot. I've measured the pocket and looked at it under a microscope and I just can't figure out why it acts like this. It's really irritating and I was wondering if anyone else out there has ever run in to a similar situation. Is there any way to fix this problem? The pockets are fairly tight, but they aren't triple shimmed or anything. A ball shot at this pocket will jaw where the same shot at the other three pockets will go in. You can't cheat this pocket. What in the name of holy hell is going on?
your video is "ok", but abruptly stops around 3:20 and switches to covering the rails befor you've finished covering the table surface. Recheck your editing.

awesome video. most people don't know how hard it is to do the corner pocket. you REALLY have to stretch that cloth.
Corners are easy its the sides that are a lot tougher trust me lol www.ricksbilliardtables.com
Excellent speaker and demonstrator.

Simple and awesome old school teacher!
This is one of the videos I most like about refelting pool tables. I've added a link to it on my site.
Very informative. Thank you! Also it was nice to hear Ron White narrate :P
love Ron White!

What happens between 3:20 and 3:22? I presume no adhesive on the table top then, but did not see the rest of the table felt installation on the video.
Great video!! Wish you could install mine here in RI. Very professional work well done!! Thanks for posting this video!

The video skipped to the rails before it was even half way ...What you guys talking about ...???...
Yeah the rats are guy is right
great video! just got a pool table yesterday and needed to figure this out. also subbed to your channel, thanks! :)
No tienen ni la menor idea, pésimo lapidario, ignorancia total de ese trabajo
I sure would like to see in detail how you finish the corner and side pockets to me that is the hardest part of the install.
I agree, I'm a table mechanic and even with the fabric based ones made by master (the newer peel off ones are a dream compared to the lick & stick) I've actually thought about having a stamp made. Maybe I should.
I here ya brother, thats why spray glue is a spots best friend, peel and stick royally suck www.ricksbilliardtables.com
Several methods yes
But i like your rail process
Will do mine like that
Just got my table true today
Great pool table video. I use polymat 777 glue I like it more than the 3m.
nice video otlvise can also be used to keep the seams even when installing the table
The thumbnail gave the impression you used the glue instead of staples... I like staples, works well with my table, but I’m interested in the glue.. Can you explain the benefits or drawbacks of both?..
How do you get the old glue off the slate edges under rails sand paper?
I don't know what the previous guy meant about the horrendous accent. I'm from Tennessee and it sounds ok to me. I need a beer.
CLOWTH

I’ve always used a flat head vice to stretch the felt, instead of just grabbing it with my hands and pulling.. Works really well..
How often should you get your pool table refelted? We play maybe 3 times a week, would say moderate use.
Pool halls roughly 6 months, home use 5 years is average www.ricksbilliardtables.com
I'm from Texas. Dude sounds normal to me.
wish there was more on the pockets
Great Video. All that's missing is the cheezy 90's vhs instructional music
Some here .will you make another video and show how you Install pool table Cloth. The step you cut out is what most people want to know how to do. Will you show step by step of how you cut the pockets also Thanks.

The down angle of the shims/pocket opening should be around 13-15 degrees. If it has no angle, it will spit balls out .
What size of staples i need
1/4 - 3/8 is standard www.ricksbilliardtables.com
thank you
when you stretch the cloth the wrinkles will be gone.
Thanks!
2019? anyone
Best video for how to cover the slate but... where is the rest of it! I was so annoyed when you cut it at the centre pocket! Arrrgggghhhh!
A southern accent just means you know what your talking about
Well, you don't. You spelled "you're" wrong. I'm a Tenn hillbilly, but I know how to spell and use proper grammar.
@@caddi70 fuck you nerd..that really what you wasted your time typing about. "Your" are fucking loser
Quit arguing it's bad manners to folks!
your video is "ok", but abruptly stops around 3:20 and switches to covering the rails befor you've finished covering the table surface. Recheck your editing.
this was to hard to do for 25+ people
buddy hall?
i need a stapler that shoots into slate...LOLZ
I prefer to build with Woodglut plans.

Who kept watching the whole video just to listen to the accent lol
Why didn’t you show how to remove the old. Not helpful!!
good work but too slow
Don't do that with the cloth... You're just asking for stuff to stick to your cloth. And if you know what your doing pocket liners are not necessary.
Well...That wasn't worth a damn as an install video ....
nice accent AHHAHAHAHA
Great job! but not gonna lie, that is an ugly cloth.
Couldn't even watch with how low quality the res is and that horrendous accent
To many of us, you probably also have an horrendous accent.
