      Mostly this comes down to 3 main things:
      1. Your instinct and Basketball IQ
      2. Knowing your teammates patterns and habits
      3. Playing lots of live (3v3, 5v5) games

      Here's my routine:
      10x3 Form shooting in front of the rim.
      Shooting from every low-post to high-post for 3 sets.
      After finishing 2nd step, start to do mid-range and slowly extend further away from the rim (focus on shooting form)
      Lastly, slowly extend to 3 points once you feel you're ready after mid-range.
      This is my personal shooting drills for mostly accuracy, muscle memory and form.
      You can also do extras like pickup shooting, dribble shooting, skip shooting.

    That flick and drop theory is gonna piss so many people off, however having tried it exactly how you explained, definitely does give you some range for some reason!

    Coach, if I'm skinny then the problem with my long shots is the form or my strenght?

  • @davidbarrett7803
    @davidbarrett7803 6 месяцев назад

    When it comes to mid-range vs 3's and further. I'm a great mid-range shooter, i noticed the ball and legs start to move at the SAME time on my mid range shots, but I see how starting with the ball and adding legs around set-point timing makes longer shots more effortless. Have you seen this in your experience with Mid-range timing being ball and legs dipping and moving at the same time, or is it because i have momentum off the dribble in mid-range that brings power into it already. idk im probably over thinking it.
    Also I relate with the not-leaving the follow through on longer shots. Feels more like a rubber band/slingshot firing and doens't lose power.

    • @davidbarrett7803
      @davidbarrett7803 6 месяцев назад

      I think teaching follow through is good for younger players trying to focus on wrist snap and rotation/rolling off the tips of the fingers, but after they get a solid foundation, I don't think it matters if they follow through or not.

  • @paulgeorge9228
    @paulgeorge9228 6 месяцев назад

    4th point is due to impulse, quicker release more force in less time, so no wrist flick ( no follow thru)
