this was an amazing concert! We came all the way from Belgium to see them an we waited there for 7 hours, it was a warm beautiful day in may. Memories, memories :-)
First love song Stipe wrote for REM and my favorite REM song. Fantastic version here, Mike E is digging it. Always loved his backing vocals on the final verse. Check that, always loved Mills' backing vocals period.
I agree with other posts here that like the slightly slower pace of the song. It seems to enhance the slight melancholy vibe of the tune. I hate when bands speed things up in concert just to get through the setlist instead of letting the songs play out.

This is a political song masquerading as a love song. REM are 80s kids and almost all, if not all, of their songs are political in nature.
