definitely the best dance of the season. most fun, best actual "dance moves" expecially compared to the other freestyles. and the original costume, i think, just added to the intricacy of the moves that they did and the SPEED! OMG!! that was amazing!
Gymnastics and dance are VERY different. In gymnastics you have to be spot on with every move, very direct to each different move, with dancing it's very fluid. It's actually pretty different. :) Love Shawn! She's such a sweetheart.
To me, Shawn is by far my favorite partner of Mark's. I can't believe he said his season with Sadie was his favorite >:( In my opinion, I think it backfired and people who are fans of his other partners voted for Alfonso instead.

I understand that Mark has announced his retirement for DWTS, although I wouldn't be surprised if he popped up every now and then. He always had the best and most creative freestyles hands down.
All were great dancers. It boiled down to Monday nights performance. Shawn wowed me. I was disappointed with Gilles and Mellisa's performance. So I voted for Shawn and she won. Justice was don IMHO. Good for her and Mark!

she can do those flips, arials (no hands cartwheel) spitls that I think no regular person could learn in the time they have to prep for so you are right she does use a ton of gymnast skills. They also do floor excersizes to music and dancing skills are some of the things they are supposed to do in their event as well...though less and less so it seems.
That was awesome choreography. Really well executed. And stop hating on Shawn Johnson saying she's "thicker" or "looking chubby" or any of that shit. Fact of the matter is, she's probably a lot healthier than the majority of the people talkin smack, and can also kick the majority of your asses.

She knew how to tumble and flip, soar over the bars, balance on a 2inch beam and do awesome tumbling moves and tricks, can do splits and jump up in the air to do them too, and other gymnastics stuff. She also brings a confidence of performing in front of huge crowds, which helped her immensely, I'm sure, with not being too nervous and being able to try and be outgoing. However, all of the dance moves were new to her.
That was downright amazing! And gosh, I'm tired of people calling her "fat" or "beefy" It's called MUSCLE, morons. I don't think you could win gold medals and test your body like she does if she didn't have it. Sorry, just had to get it off my chest :]

shawn totally brought out the child in mark throught the season, no matter what the dance was he was always smiling and looking happy
