I think what forgives this special was this being the very 1st time Grinch and The Cat could be set up as adversaries ! Other incarnations would be the puppet Suess show many years later. Though I do agree, the Chuck Jones Grinch and GRINCH NIGHT version could not be easily swayed like this one. Maybe the CG one too, but who cares.
