Hi Phil, I was a Abattoir worker, working wth bulls one needed to take extra care, without doubt too you will need to do the same as they begin to reach their trip to the Factory. Just a question, is the Market for bulls better than Steers. I never miss any of your posts, I love the way Father Phil can maintain any farming machine, he's a genius.
Good to have it in mate. We used the jcb Tele for all the stack work in holland, thinner layers than you do and lots of rolling and it’s a piss easy job with great results. Can get right to the wall everywhere so no hot spots later, can just crab walk it off if ya get caught too close 🤣🤣. A mate here in Aus spread corn kernels in his stack last year, was an issue with ripening (wrong seed in bags 🫣) was a bit green but with all the extra kernels it came out really well. Crop costs was reimbursed so adding kernels was a good way to still have a stack.
Citrus pulp or beet pulp is great for absorbing juice , we put in brewers grain with our maize last year and it is over 20% protein which worked well for milking cows .
hi, over here in Canada, southwestern ontario, they use heat units for growing time to ripen, example, 3500 heat units in the south to 2100 mid province, and heat units are what the variety needs over its growing period at a certain amount of sunny days at a certain temperature range. In your part of the planet Phil probably a 2100 heat unit would be the number
Just a little spray with WD40 and squeak stops for a while even with knackered bushings, ask me how I know, they just don’t care that much about there machinery 🫢🫢
Had a similar issue with seat squeking on Case and WD40 was no good. I used lithium grease spray on all parts under the seat and sorted it. Make sure to lub under the cusion part too.
Looks like bro has the PTO on in the 7618 or else she be next in the workshop!! Never mind the begrudging & judgy comments here Phil about "how to grow maize" or " we did better". Was a shite year for crops overall and plenty fellas caught out especially with maize even in what'd be considered "good ground"!!!
Just remember, t the bwith a jcb loadall, you can flick the bucket and bend the front mudguards also with a,fork on you can puncture the front tyres . Fantastic video Farmer Phil
Watching you the pit brought memories of building the pit with a teleporter and later a matbro telegram, hate to think of how many tons I pushed up with those
Coulda used some knew knives on the chopper I think. Stringy cut. I think some weed control woulda done ya guys more then feeding it fertilizer those weeds would just rob nutrients and heat. I know it’s different climate but here in bc of we’re under 10 foot corn were embarassed and a poor crop.
Pushed maize with those road tyres before not great when the pit gets tall. but it was only a few acres like yourselves so we made do. i would say compaction in the pit is not as great comparing to the veneeri
Better than losing the crop entirely. Man not very far from me lost 18 acres waiting for it to "ripen" after the frost 2 or 3 weeks ago. Went too far and 80% of cobs on the ground......
Hi Phil, i had a jcb with the very same squeaky seat 😢 drive ya mental. A wonder could you put air seat in? Only good thing is you have air-conditioning 👍 Keep the good work up
All famers live on Weather conditions, some they win some they lose , but if it was not For Farmers, none of us would eat, give them a break , they do not work 9-5 M-F
Seen far worse than that, its not a bad crop. Saw maize once completely flattened after a storm and the harvester could only cut it in once direction! A small yield but fed well. So this crop is ok.
Get the big shovel back on the pit work.
Ye'll knock the arse out of the JCB on that work.
Probably not heavy enough either.
I have never seen maze ,,, wow it’s amazing to see ❤

Mini 4 Pro would be an ideal drone for you Phil. Cheap, plenty of power and good auto tracking
Is maze used like silage feed ?

My middle year farm back in the mid 90’s used to do the same 2ft of brewers grains under the the whole floor of the maize pit worked a treat

Those JCBs are great on a pit, but like you say, ground clearance.. the fuel tanks do rip off fairly easy, don't ask how I know that !! 😅😅
Would you consider bear pulp instead of straw? Better absorbency and better feed value
good crop maize Phil cons the weather we had.
The more you use the JCB on the pit the more you will get used to its tricks.
Another great video 👍
Once your bucket is full put your jib out a wee bit that helps with your wheel grip climbing the pit looking forward to the beet lifting video😂
Phil, did you ever find the phone you lost on the pit. What phone was it. Where could it possibly end up.
The squeak from the seat would drive me up the bloody wall 😮
Just a little spray with WD40 and squeak stops for a while even with knackered bushings, ask me how I know, they just don’t care that much about there machinery 🫢🫢
Your troubles are small!
@@tcod3137 My troubles are not small and squeaky seats would only add to them.
@@stubarry3206 I suppose it's a matter of time, they're busy, mad busy at times and a squeaky seat rates low on the list of priorities.
Tried the wd40 and to no avail
Had a similar issue with seat squeking on Case and WD40 was no good. I used lithium grease spray on all parts under the seat and sorted it. Make sure to lub under the cusion part too.
Where is the oil can ??
Looks like bro has the PTO on in the 7618 or else she be next in the workshop!!

Would it have been better to roll out the straw on the floor before hand
Good one Phil looks like a good crop the new JCB did a nice job good to see Bro out on the job.
Of course she can push up lad . Just be careful you don’t burst the front tyres with that fork
We've all done it 😅😅
Just remember, t the bwith a jcb loadall, you can flick the bucket and bend the front mudguards also with a,fork on you can puncture the front tyres . Fantastic video Farmer Phil
Only if your a twat!!!
Good stuff
Never a dull moment, Phil.
You could due with a set of duals on the front of the tele, she rolls around phill, be careful lad. Grand job as always 😊
Just a question I saw the tipsy nut bins in the back round and was wondring what you make of them thinking about getting one
Do cattle do better on maize ?
If the kernels are still milky will it not run through the cattle
Great video, Phil. Good to c the maize getting cut
Under the conditions from last year and a wet sping it looks ok it will definitely feed your cattle well
Watching you the pit brought memories of building the pit with a teleporter and later a matbro telegram, hate to think of how many tons I pushed up with those
They can push alright
Good evening to Farmer Phil hope father Phil is getting better ❤️🩹.You’re the best in the whole world 🌎.So so good 😊 luck.🍀
Nice crop of maize phil and ground in good shape very dry u could show tom pemberton how to grow maize his was a joke bad crop and bad ground
Absolutely brilliant. Been waiting for this 😊
Great video Phil keep it up👍

I think it’s the knives and the shearbar setting. Wouldn’t get away with that chop quality when I was chopping.
What drone do you use?
Doesn't look ready to cut yet that cob was very milky still. Good vid tho keep it up Phil
Hi farmer Phil that was a great job with it on your land keep up the good work 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Good video Phil 👌🤠🚨❤🇮🇪👍
Well done Phil.
Uncle Ian would be very proud.
Great video Phil Busy busy. Enjoyed watching. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Another very interesting video Thank you
Pushed maize with those road tyres before not great when the pit gets tall. but it was only a few acres like yourselves so we made do. i would say compaction in the pit is not as great comparing to the veneeri
order the plactic asap for next year
With the weather not a bad crop
The JCB telehandler is such a reliable machine
Great video.
Whats the name of the tune playing at the end of video
Maize is looking good.
I often wondered where sweep went to after that 1980 show, sooty and co, he has s new job in phil seat in the jcb squeaking!
Now that brings back memories. Pity we're showing our age tho, lol
I thought that was ur brother Eric on de jcb when de camera was on de wall
Same
What age is the trainer trailer? I've seen (and have) sheds looking worse than it
Nice video, but not a very good chop quality. I used to drive an 860 many years ago.
Paint roof hay shead, get another 30 out of it, great video.
Nice one Phil
Another a Maize ing video
Is the trainer trailer mostly for training in new drivers 🤔
No it's just the make of if
Nice crop there bro
Looks a disease on that maize spores causing dust or lack of nutrients on that square .. or spray man burned it
If the cob is milkly why cut it why not wait to ribben won't your cattle get gut problems with the plant being to green
Never heard that before but we decided to cut it because the bottom half of the field was dead and the cobs starting to droop and conditions were good
Better than losing the crop entirely. Man not very far from me lost 18 acres waiting for it to "ripen" after the frost 2 or 3 weeks ago. Went too far and 80% of cobs on the ground......

Busy ld phil as ever
Jcb’s notoriously squeaky and bouncy brutes. Tidy pit though 👍🏻
Y cut it wn not fit.done 60 acres last week fully brown happy.
Some day Paddy
No good no feed valve not rip
👍👍🇮🇪🇮🇪🙏🙏👌👌💪💪
Take it you can't muilty task paddy
Maybe you could try spelling correctly instead of slimy discriminatory remarks!
Looks a poor crop of maize, very poor height in it ground very dirty with weeds , took a tool on the crop , you can only grow one crop successfully.
Thanks for letting us know, how tall was your maize? Could you put a video up of it?
Loads of farmers across Ireland and some of the uk have had bad maize crop due to bad conditions
Maize is poor all over the place.
All famers live on Weather conditions, some they win some they lose , but if it was not For Farmers, none of us would eat, give them a break , they do not work 9-5 M-F
