Arrogant Bastard was most first holy s&%$ beer. Had Lagunitas, Drakes and other craft before that, but that was my first get kicked in the teeth with flavor moment back in 2006. Absolutely love the Bastard.

I'm in London and I agree with you so much about needing some bitter beers. Everything here is hazy and citrusy these days. I cherish the piney, hoppy ones when I can get them

London!? You're spoiled with CAMRA brews no? At least for the good stuff.
But yeah, I'm sure you have Thornbridge Jaipur and other gems?

@@DarwinsBeerReviews Jaipur is a solid one you can get at any supermarket and one of the reasons I like it is because it is quite bitter. We have some good ones like Buxton and Magic Rock which make the nice piney bitter ones, but a lot of the time it's the hazy stuff. I saw you rated Kernel's Imperial Brown and rated it well. They make really lovely dark beers.

Stone Ruination is what you need to revisit for the bitterness

I'm pretty sure Darwin was able to find the last round of Ruination even in Florida. I had zero luck near San Francisco.

A classic and a great value ($13 6-16oz cans). Now I am still waiting for the Double Bastard Ale to show up here in GA. I hope you can find it.

Same here! I hear it's out, but I can't wait to find it in my market.

I revisited this one a few months back in the stovepipe can. All I can say is OG! OG! It's not widely available but I'm pretty sure I know one upscale market that seems to stock it. I would love to see a limited release of Old Guardian barley wine.

That would be a fun one to bring back. And their Imperial Stout too!

I had sublimely self righteous a few months ago and was surprised at the bitterness. Double bastard and old guardian were some of my favorites, ten plus years ago.
