Hey Master Edwards, I am a black belt 1st Dan but I stopped practicing for 3 years so I forgot everything (all patterns) by watching you videos, I have regained my memory. Thank you so much for these videos.
These instructional videos are excellent. Thank you, once again, Master Edwards. I first started watching your video about a year ago when I was preparing for Chonji Pattern. I'm now getting ready for Yul Gok.
Mr Edwards, Thank you so much Sir for putting on these videos, they are so helpful i have been watching now for almost two years and have been really motivated by these videos, you really are a great inspiration to all the students who watch these awesome videos. Thank you Sir.
Excellent video. All I would add is that the double forearm block is properly referred to as Doo Palmok Nopunde Makgi in most ITF circles. I would not be surprised if Song Soo was taken straight from Shotokan.
The reason behind the hand slowly going up as the leg steps out is to measure distance between your opponent. At least that is what my Master and the ITF USA President teaches. Great video, techniques, and explanations!
Master Randy; I have earned my blue tip in 6 months and I learned a lot from your videos. One question; when you are doing the patterns I have noticed you bounce a lot between stance. I was taught to stay down and travel in one level without going up and down. Do you mind explaining this please? thank you
Thank you for your question, I will do my best to answer. There are many ways to do the techniques in forms. The individual techniques are to be done with maximum power with the least wear and tear on the body while maintaining the beauty of the form. When the body drops, your power is increased as you are heavier at the lowest point in the drop. I weigh 171, but when I drop into a deep stance my weight is almost doubled. Mass times acceleration is power, right? (stand on a set of bathroom scales and drop down on them and see what happens) I weigh more so I am more powerful than just being in a good stance. Taekwon-Do added this drop around 1972, some practice it that way and others are still doing the "pre 72" straight line no dropping style. Both are good, but it makes sense to have more power you need to drop. Do some research on the "sine wave" in TKD. Also, read the book by Alex Gillis titled "A Killing Art - The Untold History of Taekwon-Do". That book really explains a great deal.
+billyvirdee2011 I have been with lots of the alphabet in my 31 years. I testing for my first through third degree under the ITF and USTF in Dallas. I tested up to my 6th degree under Grand Master Park in the GTF, and tested for my 7th under Nam Tae Hi and since his passing away, I testing for my 8th under Kong Young Il. I've been under Grand Masters Scott McNeely, Bob Hardin and Master Troy Burleson my entire career, but we have sought instruction and testing from lots of different groups.
+Randy Edwards wow! That's amazing.... I've noticed in some TKD groups they keep their fist under the arm pit, a higher chamber unlike at the waist. Any opinions?
I'm not in the ITF. It may be wrong in the ITF, it's a variation that works for us. Now quit hiding behind your computer tough guy and find some positive timings to do with your life. Make Tkd proud with your thoughts and actions.

Mr. Edwards, so far, is the only video demonstration I can actually learn from.

Thanks for the video, my blue belt testing is coming up, and this is my high green belt form. This really helped me, thanks!
Thank you and good luck with your testing!
Randy Edwards
Thank you, sir!
Great instructions there I love this pattern! This and Dan-Gun are my 2 favourite coloured belt patterns I've performed at gradings so far :)
First two movements involve dynamic tension . It is used to remove an opponents grip on your wrist by using knife hand .
thank you
great video, we have some different terminology and execution but this is a great teaching tool!
Thanks a lot Dustin! I hope your training is going well!
I'm going to test with this tool tomorrow, so I thought I'd look over the steps.
I'm Going 2 Rock My Grading! Thanks a Lot! :)

Thanks heaps, that makes sense now. I really appreciate your reply.
Very good vids sir.
+billyvirdee2011 Thank you! Good luck with your training!
+Randy Edwards sir are you with GTF TKD ? ITF?

+billyvirdee2011 That seems way too high. Seems like it may tighten the muscles when they are supposed to be very relaxed to create speed.
The measuring arm in the first two sequences is supposed to be pushed out not lifted well that's what the home country teaches and is taught all over
Thank you Jonathan. I appreciate your feedback!
I have a book original pattern by Gen.Choi.Pattern Yul Gok and other pattern no southing
my testing is today
