When you think about it, The Christina O, is probably one of the few places, in the world, that had such a diverse, not to mention, fascinating people of the 20th century!
What a beautiful video. An echo from the golden years of glamour. I'm So glad it is still a presence upon the azure seas of the French Mediterranean. I remember years ago seeing a video of it falling into neglect. I'm thrilled someone with a $ ,a sense of history invested in the Christina O. I wonder if the grand daughter will ever have the knouse to sail on it one-day? Probably not.
She was a Canadian frigate that Onassis purchased in the 1940's for about $50,000. His archrival Stavros Niarchos had a smaller but more elegant yacht called The Creole.
Formerly the HMCS Stormont in the Royal Canadian Navy. She was launched in Montreal in 1943 and served in the Atlantic and Arctic as a convoy escort and also played a support role for amphibious operations in the D-Day landings.
Absolutely beautiful yacht / I would love to cruise around the Mediterranean in that, what a thrill but at 400,000 Euros for one week, I know it won’t happen, at least not in this lifetime - lol

When was the name changed from "Christina Y.C.M." to "Christina O"? And why? What did the "Y.C.M" stand for? Was it changed by the new owners due maritime registration laws? I'm kinda curious about Onassis' arch rival's yacht the Creole. Is she still around today?
