- Today I want to show off the custom army I made using the new Dungeons and Dragons Dragonborn Paladin. It's really cool having a blue and white dragon faction and I combined their parts with the 2013 crown knights because the color scheme is the same and works super well! I have a moc build for these guys planned so keep and eye out for that!

I like the use of the Gold Dragon head as decoration. The balance of blue, gold, grey and brown colors looks great. Looking forward to your MOC.
Yeah I want to get some use out of the heads since I don't terribly care about dragonborns. Glad you enjoyed and keep an eye out because I'll have the moc ready soon!
These are great, love the way you used the hands as little flags on the spears
I love your videos 😂
Thank you! I love that technique as well it just adds a little touch that looks really nice!
@@Catinagalaxy Yeah he makes some awesome mocs!
The gold head on the banner is really good piece usage.
Thanks I'm glad you liked it!
The crossbow men looks sick
Thank you, I love the parts combo on them as well!
They look awesome! No capes for the heavy infantry, capes for the swordsmen for sure. And I like the use of the gold head on the banner build. Looks great!
Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed! I think I agree the heavy infantry would be a bit much with capes but I def wanna get some white mandos for the swordsmen to match the torso printing. Thanks for watching!
Your thumbnails have improved so much! Great vid, looks expensive!
Thanks, Goldfyre told me about photopea and once I learned a bit how to use it it's been a game changer in how I make my thumbnails. Also this army wasn't too expensive due to the Dragonborn being new unlike my bear knight army of a similar size although some of the older parts are definitely a bit pricey
Nice army keep it up it is going well
Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
I dont collect Lego but the idea to make a whole knight section from one specific minifigure is awesome. Great work. You could make a oversized Dragon Fighter figure with the Dragon Head, maybe with partial bricks or something.
Awesome I'm glad you enjoyed it! That could be a cool idea for the dragon head thanks for the idea!!
Black capes for the bowmen. Gives a more assassin like feel. Can hide in the shadows and snipe. Awesome figs!
Yeah that could be cool although I might just go with blue or white idk yet
Compromise with the dark blue cape from the black falcon archer minifig from a while back
@@SkyKid002 yeah that could be good although I don't like the shape of the cape very much so I'll probably just go with a custom capes4minifigs one
Looks great
Thanks I appreciate it!
Love your crowned dragon army, looking forward to your Moc. Very impressive that you gathered so many of the dragon paladins. So far i managed to collect 15.
Thank you! It's been a challenge to get all the dragon paladins that I need but I try to monitor when stores go in and out of stock and go when I can to have the best chance of getting some!
Pretty nice groups for this army. I'd probably go with a brown cape, style of your choice for the longbowmen.
I've collected 3 Paladins so far for the D&D CMFs...the most of any figure. I don't plan to army build, but love having options for players and NPCs in my games.
Yeah brown would probably look pretty good. Even if you don't army build the figure the parts are beautiful for whatever you want to use them for! What types of games are you talking about?
Awesome video. I love the combination of crown knights and dragon paladins. Im sitting on 51 paladins
Thank you I'm glad you liked it! 51 paladins is crazy wow
Bro! I'm enjoying your videos so much!! keep it up! 🙌🏼
Thanks a lot I love your videos as well I love seeing fellow castle content creators!
Spearman look sick!
Thanks glad you enjoyed!
Nice army. Keep up with good work and ignore brailess haters
Haha thank you although I'm not sure if I have many haters at under 1000 subscribers
Haters are just wishing they had more minifigs
@@KommanderKaren And fish
@@KommanderKaren Haha true
Great collection, I like all specialized units. You made nice hunt, I found only 5 Paladins so far lol.
I incorporated them in my Lions army for variaty and look awesome.
Your custom banner looks quite akward with dragon head to be honest, you need more experimenting.😊
Thank you, the paladins have been hard to find but I wish you luck finding some more! I agree about the banner the dragon head doesn't quite look right I might remove the printing on one and experiment some more, I appreciate the feedback! Thanks for watching!
Very nice
Thank you!
The 2013 bits work great with these. I’ve been experimenting with this CMF some too.
For the dragon head, I used a horse head armor piece that’s a white version of the one that came in Dragon Masters sets. I don’t know where the white one came from, but check it out.
yeah I love the combo of parts the color scheme is just meant to be combined ngl. That's a cool idea for the dragon head I can def see the use in that!
@ 2:16 i would say no capes; having capes vs not having capes might be a good way to differentiate ur main characters/named characters from the rest of the army
Yeah I agree those guys don't need capes I think it would be a bit much. I'm fine using capes on some soldiers but I mainly use them for archers/crossbowmen and main characters
Well combination bro keep it up 😊
Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed!
Nice
Thanks!
Brown crossbow looks good imo, like to match the bow with the quiver
Yeah I feel like either looks good but I just want this army to be super heavily armored with heavy weapons due to all the armor on the paladin. I still need to order silver crossbows at some point so for now the brown looks just fine
I love what you can di with this one
Thank you so much and I'm glad you were able to get one of them! I agree with you the human looking print is a bit weird so I think ill just remove the printing.
I’ve found 3 dragon paladins. At one Walmart, it was the only one that had been cleaned out. But it’s understandable; it’s the best fig of the series.
Oh that's awesome, well I'm glad you were at least able to find a couple. Sadly most of the time if someones been through with a scanner all the paladins are gonna be gone so you either gotta find a store right after they restock or pray that no one with a scanner's gone through yet. The other day I found a fred meyer that had put out 5 boxes and someone had gone through and found all the paladins lmao. It's a beautiful fig tho, there's a reason their like 10 dollars on the secondary market. Best of luck finding some more! :)
@@RioBricks I may stop at 3. My wallet might yell at me. And I still keep putting off Bricklink orders for older parts. lol
@@MistbornPrincess Well fair enough haha
any plans for adding a gold knight to the crown knights with gold metallic visor?
Yeah I wanna do that when I make an update to the crown knights, I totally forgot somehow when I was initially making the army 😂
Awesome looking army! Where did you get the gold helm and chest armor at 0:44?
Thank you! The pieces come from 2007 fantasy era draw bridge defense but now the full figure goes for 60 dollars at a minimum. cas415 is the name of the fig if you wanna look it up on bricklink :)
This will be the video that puts you at 1k subs!
For sure, lego castle community getting stronger by the day.
Yup I think so, I've been growing pretty quickly and I hope I can keep this up and hit 10k by next year!
@@milesblay97 Yeah it's awesome to see and I'm happy to see more people making castle focused content!
Any minute now
Great stuff! Subscribed 😃.
Where did you get the minifig heads? Pickabrick? Some are really great.
Thanks I'm happy you enjoyed! I've acquired my minifig head through all sorts of places, some from old minifigs as a kid, some of the rarer or more unique head I got from bricklink (I have a wanted list of unique heads that I look for when I buy from stores) and then yes a bulk of my heads are from pick a brick but to be honest a lot of the current heads are more geared towards city so I have to use bricklink for more of the neutral or aggressive looking heads. But my advice if your looking for cool heads is to go over all the yellow toned heads on bricklink and just add any cool ones to a wanted list because there's a good amount of awesome looking heads that you can usually find for not much more than a pick a brick head!
@@RioBricks Thanks for your response, much appreciated!
@@jeroen5410 Totally I'm always happy to answer any questions!
I think the grey motorcycle helmet looks good with the grey part of the breastplate.
Yeah that's fair it doesn't look bad I just prefer the all gold look I think
RIO! RIO! RIO!
YOOOO
I have 5 of those
Sweet their super hard to actually find in stores but so nice when you can actually get them!
I own 7 of the Dragon born already--hopefully I'll be able to track down another 8
Awesome glad to hear you finding them! Good luck finding those last 8 :)
take a shot every time he mentions getting a cape
LMAO listen I'm just lacking a lot of capes atm but I plan on doing a big C4M order soon and finishing. up the capes I need for my armies
Nice army. The only thing I dislike is using minifig hands as flags.
That's fair to some people it looks too weird
Blue mandalorian style capes?
Do you mean for the archers?
Bro where I live there are no Dragonborn paladins anywhere 😢
Yeah I had to check the stores stock online every day until I saw them come in stock and then I quickly drove over and got them lol. It's been roughing finding the DnD minifigures for a lot of people, their just so popular.
Wats your ig I need the know the heads u used I wanna get them
Rio039 feel free to dm me any questions on there or on discord (also Rio039) and I'm happy to answer what I can :)
I got 2, it’s so hard to get them
Yeah the minifigures series is just unfortunate because unless your lucky enough to go to a store before other people get the fig you want then you're out of luck
How many of the Dragonborn fellas did you get did you get?
I don't know exactly but a good bit, I'm still looking for more tho their so hard to find
I've only found one store other than Lego carrying them out in the wild. I found no paladins
Oh man that sucks, they sell out real fast and the paladins are typically gone within the first day of restocking
@@RioBricks, yeah it does.
@@TraceyHausel Well good luck finding some!! I hope you can at least get a few their beautiful figs
@@RioBricks Thanks! I do have a few. I bought a complete set from minifigures plus. I've bought a few from Whatnot auctions.
@@TraceyHausel Oh fair enough their so hard to get its worth buying them before they go even farther up in price
I really wish i could afford something like this i literally broke the bank buying like 12 D&D cmf figs but i got a lot of duplicates
Yeah fair enough Lego is definitely an expensive hobby and I'm fortunate to be able to afford it. Do you know about the minifig scan app to know whats in each blind box? I have a youtube short about it that I would check out if you're still wanting to get some specific figures! LMK if you have any questions :)
@@RioBricks yes I’ve tried it but can’t ever get it to work it just keeps saying the series not the fig
@@RioBricks & there are definitely several I want to get I haven’t pulled like 1/3 them which happens to be the ones I actually want duplicates of like the dragon born & the mind flare
@@anthonyzayne8675 Hmm thats weird
@@anthonyzayne8675 Yeah everyone has been hunting the dragon born so their hard to find in stores
I currently have 9 paladins
Sweet, it's definitely been a challenge to find them in stock but when you do it feels so good!
Servant of bahamut
Yup although I don't play dnd so I didn't even know that it was bahumut's symbol lmao
@@RioBricks it is bahamut
@@crusaderXSOUL I'm aware I'm saying when I first got them I didn't know
45-50 dragon paladins and counting😅
Jesus that's a good amount I gotta find more but I got so little time with my school schedule atm :(
@@RioBricks hit all the walmarts, kohl’s, meijers and targets in my area. i have depleted a 100 mile radius of dragon paladin…
Remeber, if you’re right handed, you hold a bow in your left hand, and pull arrows from your quiver over your right shoulder with your right hand. It looks like all your archers are left handed 🤔
Yeah I'm aware of this it's mainly because all the falconers have their glove on their left hand and hold their bow in the right so I just decided to keep it uniform for all my armies even though it may not be the most realistic.
I would recommend bigger variety in bodies and helmets, the generic look is issue for many army builders. Medieval times were very diverse in terms of clothing and equipment. I also wonder what's up with so many army builders these days using female heads for soldiers. I get it if you try to portray Amazon warriors, enchantresses or barbarians but in European based medieval army? Nah.
Well my army isn't meant to be historically accurate considering the fact that I literally have wizards and dragons in my medieval world. I really don't understand why so many people care about having female Lego heads in armies, it just seems like a silly thing to nitpick.
