I always hear the people complaining about how KOTM was always in rain and storms whenever Ghidorah was around. But we forget that they explained this because Ghidorah creates a hurricane with only one flap of his wings and then uses his otherwordly bio-electricity to bend it to his own will. This was pretty well visualized in the scene of his awakening in Antarctica. A blizzard did not start until he made his presence known properly with his wings. That shot where he roared and then the lightning came down shows he bends the weather to his own will. I find this a very realistic addition to the MV. Just like how GvK and such are all in the light / clear as Godzilla does not generate storms wherever he walks. Albeit in a storm he does generate his own lightning as well. I found Ghidorah to be truly terrifying and when he made his Alpha Call from the volcano from which Rodan awakened that literally sent shivers down my spine. I would not be surprised if Ghidorah wrecked even more heavily in the time that the Oxygen Destroyer wiped out Godzilla than we saw. We need more of him in the Monsterverse for sure. Just not with Wingard but with Doughourity again. He absolutely nailed the monsters and their storyline. I might be one of the few who absolutely loved the KOTM storyline. It felt so perfect. I'm a physics major and the way all those "scientists" were talking and making inside jokes. That is quite realistic I must say. To clarify: Some of us (aspiring) scientists are just ubernerds and love to come up with all kinds of theories that could explain our observations. This hollow earth theory was a great one in how it was presented. Like an absurd theory that could not be true until it was true and then of course the one who always thought it was true goes on a big cheering rant. Also whenever a thing is hard to explain we generally just boil stuff down to simple terms that people understand. "He is coming for food, fight or.. something more intimate". Which is exactly how you would put reproduction cross-species in a bit of a more appropriate way of saying. As outright saying cross-species reproduction is just not easy to follow for a general audience of people who are not as privileged to be able to follow a said degree. The inside jokes were definitely a good addition in my view as it kind of lowers stress whenever you are actually scared but do not want to cause chaos. So sarcasm is often a good way. I still wonder though what Ghidorah would have done would he not have been stopped.. I do want to add the disclaimer: this is is my own opinion and by far not an objective analysis :)
I believed King Ghidorah would have dominated the world with sheer chaos. I could imagine the cities being flooded with nonstop rainstorms. Then the other titans would have cause natural disasters as well due to King Ghidorah alpha call. Ghidorah wanted to ruled over the planet with destruction. Even his present alone cause problems. He literally is the three headed devil that descended from the heavens (cosmo) and once trapped in an ice hell (antarctic).
(1/2) I think those people are well-aware that there's an in-universe justification for why there's always rain and storms when Ghidorah is around, they're just upset because they apparently couldn't see enough of the action like in 'Godzilla 2014' (I never had that problem with either film), or because it made Ghidorah's iconic golden scales much harder to see. I agree that Ghidorah was an excellent and terrifying villain. Frankly, I'm annoyed that the Monsterverse when exploring the fallout of Titan attacks seems to constantly go back to the 2014 attacks and do it to death, while brushing all the much more apocalyptic events of KotM under the rug and pretending as if they never happened. :P "Just not with Wingard but with [Dougherty] again. He absolutely nailed the monsters and their storyline." *Facts,* man. KotM has its flaws, but Dougherty got the right balance between the humans and monsters, and between realism and fantasy, whereas Wingard just keeps swinging too far into the latter direction on both, making the Monsterverse go the way that Tim Burton's Batman film series did. :P
(2/2) If Ghidorah hadn't been stopped, it would've been bye-bye civilisation and bye-bye to most if not all human, animal and plant life on Earth's surface, since Ghidorah is having the Titans ravage the world with natural disasters far too suddenly, spontaneously and intensely for the ecosystems to bounce back - plus the novelisations by Greg Keyes and 'Kingdom Kong' all confirm that Ghidorah's effects on the weather were gradually engulfing the entire planet in endless storms, so every ecosystem on the Earth's surface would've eventually suffered Skull Island's canon fate. In the GvK novelisation, it's explicitly stated that according to Monarch's projections, if Ghidorah hadn't been stopped, then the destruction would've thoroughly wiped out ALL multicellular life on the surface except for Ghidorah, leaving only Ghidorah and some hardy bacteria alive. The KotM novelisation also has the human characters ponder and theorise on Ghidorah's actions and intentions a little bit more than the film. Serizawa when preparing to sacrifice himself explicitly suspects that all the Earth-native Titans under Ghidorah's command will die once they've served their part in Ghidorah's plan, and Serizawa also believes that once Ghidorah has completed its work on the Earth's surface, it'll immediately turn its minds to invading and destroying the Hollow Earth next. Mark Russell, when observing Ghidorah's global apocalypse, briefly ponders that perhaps Ghidorah isn't really trying to terraform/xenoform Earth into a new home for itself at all, perhaps Ghidorah just has no higher plan for the Earth than spitefully killing every living thing that's different from it.
@@ecthox-1mork909 I was initially scared of the responses but you got a pretty nice response. Very good to see :) will read it entirely later. Nice addition, good catch. I believe the next Godzilla movie might be about Shimo and Godzilla’s battle against King Ghidorah when it first arrived on earth. Maybe King Gidorah started the first titan war and Shimo created the ice age with her powers to freeze King Ghidorah leading her enslavement by Scar King after he was pushed back into hallowed earth and taking her with him. That would be so cool but the GxK mentioned Space Godzilla so who knows.
No, it’s going to be Space Godzilla vs Godzilla. They laid the story line of the Crystal and fallen meteor already. The next one after that will be Destroyer vs Godzilla because they also laid the storyline in with Godzilla absorbing more and more radiation. In King of the monster they had used the Oxygen Destroyer and it will create Destroyer. They also introduced Shimo that will freeze Godzilla meltdown too after he kills Destroyer.
