So overall, Sony’s speakers, headphones and earbuds have all been improving very nicely over the last few months. And the sony WF-1000XM5’s have some significant upgrades over their predecessors. But today we’re going to see how the Sony WF-1000XM5’s compare to Sony’s linkbuds s which are a pair of really good mid teir ANC earbuds that I feel a lot of people sleep on.

Im on android so air pods not the best option for me. I would pick xm5 right away if they had better call quality. What should i consider?
Is there a way to choose what I want? The tap settings to be on the X5? I know this sound silly but i'm actually Thinking about returning them because I can't figure this out. I had to return the galaxy buds2 pro Because my set was defective and I decided to try Sony. Someone who wears one earbud a majority of the time, I hate not being able to choose what my tap options are.
I'm using the Linkbuds S, but I'm guessing it works on Xm5 as well. You can change the touch sensor functions with the Sony headphones app, under SYSTEM section
As a person in the field of work as an Electrician I work both underground and at roofs. I havnt had a complain yet when receiving calls or doing em.

The better value would be the Linkbuds S.

I've got the Linkbuds S, Pixel buds Pro, Buds 2 pros. Sonys block out the most noise. Then the pixel buds pro are really close they're very good. Then the buds 2 pros, they're not great, probably tier b.

Tried them both. Strangely found the linkbuds S anc superior to the XM5s. They're also way lighter, slimmer profile and generally the more practical option. Would take both over Jabras however.

I think the xm5s are the most comfortable stable ear bud ive ever used. I used to like the qc 2 better, then I got these. The foam tips seal so much better than silicone, and help them stay in my ears. I thought wing tips would keep them more stable. But foam tips, that are also hollowed out, make them stay in and never fall out for me.
I find the anc to be stronger on earbuds compared to headphones.

The Sony's WH1000xm5 have excellent ANC for a headphones.

I just bought the Sony WF XM5 and im extremely disappointed with the ANC & ambient sound. It just doesn't work at all. Does nothing. The ambient mode just adds a hissing sound. ANC on or off makes no difference. Total crap.

@user-on4kr1zd1d nope, I hate apple. I don't have an iphone. I have a galaxy S22 Ultra. I have both the Sony link buds S and Sony 1000xm5 earbuds. The ANC is the same on both of them with the silicone coated foam ear tips from Amazon. The sound quality is much better on the xm5 ear buds. I never liked the mics of any of the ANC earbuds.
It's crazy to me people care more about this than the sound.
The purpose is actually sounding good. It's not a mic. That's a misunderstanding
I think most wireless earphones are not so good at recording voice, I suggest you to get the cable one

what happens and why don't they work always?
@@armaanmodi one of the earbuds just stops working every 10-15 minutes of usage and you have to put them back in the case to reset them. Also sometimes if I look too far to the left the right ear stops working

The sound quality of the Sony link buds s was extremely disappointing. The separation is horrendous and the sound is low for some reason. I have €10 Sony wired headphones, not only do they have a higher sound, the Quality is five times better plus the base does not muddy the sound. These earbuds where a complete let down and waste of money

Having used quite a bit of Sony headphone and earbud products over the past few years.I've come to find that their .Audio products are similar to their cameras on their phones. You have to tweak them to make them shine.
