"Making a Beat” series is all about the process. I will strictly be making beats in this series and display them as cinematic as possible. Fan favorite for all the die hard producers who follow me. I will be making hip hop beats, rap beats, trap beats, edm beats, and many more throughout these episodes. So enjoy and make sure to leave your thoughts in the comment section.
Beginner Producer MISTAKES - What to avoid when making beats (FL Studio Tutorial)
Trying to Make 10 Beats in 1 Day CHALLENGE (FL Studio)
Dear Kyle,
I posted a beat on SoundCloud and deleted shortly after a week or so. Than after i see someone stealing it making a song out of it,a music video ,got more than 10M views and im here commenting because i didn't copyright it and cant get nothing out of it. So , please guys , protect your music at all means.
Maybe to you its not a deal, but imagine you making Despacito music and some other dude takes credit. Come on now..
@Tech through Toni
I feel you man... It's part of the reason I stopped posting my music publicly on social media many years ago... It's simply not safe. And Kyle just made this situation a whole lot worse by duping these people into thinking copyright protection isn't important and necessary... Newbies and no-namers are the most vulnerable to having the works stolen because nobody knows who they are or what their works are making it easier for people with a name or reputation to steal their music with no consequences.
@@korniceman3000 exactly man
ya if your not a big star you have more to worry about.
What song
Yeah i know man, had the same experience
For those who disagree with the video...just build up your catalog and copyright the entire thing for $30 instead of one track at a time to save you money. No need to argue your opinion...both sides have a point and both sides are missing out one way or another. Either way, just keep making music. It's up to you what you do with it.
You can only copyrighgt 10 at a time for $30
Where at
@@Ryanthemusician its $85
The worst advice I have ever heard comming from a beatmaker. Really disappointing.
not really. like technology, music becomes obsolete. I agree with Kyle... throw a tag on it and call it good. So much competition for beats these days and life is short. If you think one of your beats are that good then sure get it legitimized, but most of the time it isn't worth it. I could see copy writing a song though, especially when it comes to lyrics and if it's fire. Think about it, how many people own FL studio these days and with how user friendly it is almost anyone can make beats...
Rabbit Reborn It might be user friendly but it sure isn’t free... Stealing beats is clearly illegal and it never hurts to take legal action to protect your beat
Yeah that was very stupid advise i agree
Exactly !!!
True
That elegant outro got me lmao
Always copyright your beats this is bad advice I’ve had beats stolen before always always always copyright your music !!!!! You own the melodies and composition
Your music is automatically copywritten as soon as you save the file. It is your creation. "Copyrighting" is simply registering what you already have so it is easier to prove. You should already have proof that you are the owner regardless of any kind of registration.
@@ChillCash how would I prove it? my FLP or stems?
@@Thestoicrevolution-v5o i think you only need the master stem, correct me if im wrong
how do you copyright beats bro ? Like, what is the process ?
I agree
This guy doesn't know what he's talking about. Always copyright your beats. If this guy puts up a beat and I recreate it and copyright it and his beat isn't copywitten, in a court of law he couldn't do anything about it. In fact, I could file a DMCA claim against him and get his beat that I stole from him removed from various internet platforms because I have the copyright.
Consigliere Musick right, you could do that, but that’s a little extreme. That will really only happen at a high level in the industry... it’s not worth it when you’re a small producer. It’s just too much effort.
First of all, who said anything about the industry? I'm sure you've seen channels such as this where people remark hit records for the sake of teaching. You don't think that people will remake beats they hear and then shop the beat around? It happens bro! Stop selling yourselves short. There is way more to the music biz than artist placements to.
Thirty five dollars and roughly fifteen minutes at copright.gov takes very little effort as well.
Consigliere Musick if you aren’t some sort of established producer you more than likely won’t even be selling leases for $30 alone... not worth it.
You actually don't NEED to register your beats to obtain a copyright. According to the Berne convention which has been ratified by the United States and most other countries, copyright is automatically obtained whenever the product of one's creative output (e.g. a story, a painting, or beats) is fixed in a tangible medium of expression such as a digital file. If your beats are sufficiently creative and innovative to be copyrightable, you don't need to register them to own a valid copyright.
However, registering your copyright does prove ownership in a court of law. Under American law, registration is a necessary prerequisite to filing a lawsuit against an infringer (and the registration must have been made prior to the act of infringement to claim statutory damages). However, this is not true in most other countries; whether or not a work is registered provides no difference in court (other than evidence of ownership). So it's probably worth registering beats if you live in the U.S., but it may not be worthwhile if you live elsewhere. In fact, it's not even possible to register copyrighted works in many European countries.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright_registration
It costs $35 to register your work with the Library of Congress. JUST DO IT! You don't even have to have a producer tag once its registered, you have the law on your side, which is 1000x better than ANY tag.
SwishaMane420 from what I understand you can copyright multiple works at once for 55$ too
The outro was so satisfying to watch
yeah that doesn't mean you should never copyright it
The first 3 minutes is him saying "Don't copyright your beats and here are reasons as to why." The rest is him just messing around with beats.
Ya boii fire on the keys lol
Not only do you do great tutorials for beat making but I enjoy that you are great at giving us industry based tips as well!
Also that beat you were getting ready for your site is 🔥
You can put your beats into the Content ID system through one of our features and you can cancel it if there's someone wishing to get the exclusive license because of having a really great song or to exclude music videos from the content id claiming if needed. We also introduced a new and easy way to track artists and content creators who trying to get away with stealing
This video claims not to worry about trying to copyright your beats 🤔 then @2:20 he says, & I quote "if someone steals your beat you should still make an effort to do something" you mean like copyright your beat 🤨🤦🏾♂️👎🏾
I Agree!!!!! Thats why you put tags in your beats!!!!!! especially during points where there are no drums cause ppl will sample your melodies!!!!! Trust me Ive seen it happen too many times!!!
E ome i just shared on my channel. 2 packs of 12 sample loops and 1 of 25 808s bass samples. FREE. No copyright or anything, LIT stuff away for free .Yeah im tryina build an audience....go get it its yours.. aye!
Tags can now be removed from beats
@@Ryanthemusician They could be done a long time ago, Tags don’t mean anything,
but what if i wanna delete someone who stole my beat without copyright
As my grand pa once told me...
"It's better to have it (copyright) and not need it, than to need it (copyright) and not have it..."
Anything you create is automatically copyrighted a lot of people just don't register the copyright with the government.
If they did then they would have more firepower when going to court.
they making where I can't even make money off my own beat on RUclips cause they copyrighted the song with my beat
wow bro that melody was amazing..i almost shed a tear 😢 6:47
damn the stu getting better
😊
You are literally the dopest & most unique beat channel on RUclips, I'm glad I subscribed xD

I love your VLogs :) It just shows the day of a producer( in this case you) and you even give tips :D. Thanks for doing RUclips
these folks copyrighting my beats and aint even bought my beats
can u make a video on how u make ur thumbnails or how u edit your videos? Just something basic
That nice ass outro tho👌
Yea, I know I've been worried about copyrighting my beats b4 I put it out there aswell😬😔, but also yea 😃 that is a best way to "copyright" your beat, by putting your unique beat tag on it, plus the evidence of how the beat is made is on your computer
Anybody can reproduce the same beats and show it on is computer..
Thanks for the tip! And a great video as always.
Ily Kyle
If I want to retain 100% publishing rights to your own music , you’ll copy right . This dude is a little over his head on this one. The beats you put out and don’t care about are your beats with samples that u can’t copy right , u put it out there for free , and if someone famous wants to use it in the major industry , they can pay the leases , but since u uploaded it originally, u will get paid for your producing services. No1 else can mix the ingredients like u Did. All your beats that u create from scratch and Can own 100% of it , hell yeah copy right it . Or you’ll die not owning your music like James Brown diva lyn Collins. Having your paper work and documents right are in the field of professionalism anyway. This ain’t the 70’s and 80’s Poor man copyright mail yourself a package home form usps.🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
Are you on drugs? I work in copyright. You must copyright your work. Look at the horror stories of people who did not. This is a law that protects you. Imagine if your song blows up and you have no evidence that you made that beat so other people are getting rich off your music while you're living in your mums basement. Come on. In this instance a beat is exactly like a song so you should treat it as such. Beats have melodies and hooks. It's yr creation.
this was very helpful thank you so much Kyle beats.
i just got an email for a beat i used a sample off looperman and youtube said somone content ided me
I have a few with looperman samples and tbh i forgot who the ppl are that made them but im not making money from my music any time soon. Although, if anything ever gets attention id be glad to split anything with them but i think im done using their samples unless i form some kind of partnership with any of the producers on there.
that outro was amazing
Killin the competition I see.
vlog starts at 4:25
Dope ass video man! Think this might be a new top 10 of yours for me. Dope beat, great piano play, more video editing, and you got your boy Cam on too. Great video!
Thank you !
I see a few producers saying they had their beats stolen...this happens WITH copyright too. My question to all of you is, what did you do after you found out your track was stolen? I saw not a single comment saying they took action and failed. Just curious...
Anything you create is automatically copyrighted and registering the copyright with the government gives you more firepower when going to court.
You say to the thief when it goes to court I will just load up my Cubase file to prove I created the song what are you going to do?
And what can they do when they just downloaded your tune.
What an intro :0 Good shit man!
Whats the song in the intro
@@kylebeatscollective i cant find the song..
Couldn't even make it half way thru this. Copyright your shit y'all. Especially if you got fire ass beats. Doesn't matter how small u are, your sound will bleed thru if its on point. And we kno we're in the age were no one can form decent creativity, everyone's snatchin shit. This music biz stuff is an investment. He's talking bout having lawyers taking care of things.. aight... but copyrighting your shit is cheaper than getting some lawyers or even one 😐😑. Thats for later
Killing it on the keys. Both of you! Damn, I’m going to check out that project Yellow now.
I kinda agree man! Nobody buys music anymore and we are still trying to hold on to old ways of doing business. Music is a marketing tool to sell something else. Nobody is getting rich of music anymore! All the successful artist/musicians have multiple streams!
Am looking to buy studio monitors what yall recommend yamahas or krks???
KingMatiC Beats Yamahas all day
@@AFTERPARTYY thanks for the reply bro
Neither. Check out the presonus series!!
I like Big Joints the most off of yellow but Fadeaway is good too👌🏽
Intro song?
Beautiful ending with the piano bro
How do you finish a track without it getting "played out" or getting sick of it because of how much you had to replay it while making it?
Take some time away from it...
Keep freestyling on it till u finish
Think ahead
7:14 That was amazing❤
first time subbing
Okaym that intro. Fire. The whole video is fire kyle is fire. Stay fire kyle.
Thank you for the fire comment bro

Kyle, you prefer/use sampled 808's or Synth 808's??
LETS GO KYLE!!!!!! GRIND DONT STOP. Ima keep supporting bro🙏🏾
the reason i ask is cause i used a loop and made a beat years ago... and someone used the same loop and got their beat copyright and when i tried to post my beat on tiktok it wont allow me to post it and now im skrewed
Im goingto steal kyles Beats bro... Ahahahah
Great advise brother... Will use👍
What's the song u played in this video ?
This is trash asf. If you don't id or copyright your work. The artist can register it as his and you could get copyright claimed on your channel if they mp3 it. And if register it you can do multiple things on it, you can copyright claim it or you can monetize it meaning if he didn't properly register it or didn't at all you can still make money out of it. I Learned it from another producer who had years of experience.
Whats the db level in your room when studio monitors are on?plss answer
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Classy Ending
If anybody's still confused, watch DJ Pain1's videos about copyright. Pain rly knows his ish
So you don't have to copyright the beat in order to sell it?
I love your videos🔥
Bro you crazy
yet another amazing video. the beat came out great and i could tell you were having a blast throughout the video. great work from you once again, keep it up.
Yeah I've heard even though your beat is yours and you have the rights to it if a producer does a recreation of it with their own sounds they can get away with it.
Yo this was one of your best videos, everything from the outside vlog to the smooth - one take outro 🔥❤️
Your a true inspiration to a lot of us aspiring producers & musicians💯
Great video 🔥
Dude is niiiice on them keeys!! I just copped Keyscape too!! Makes me wanna do stuff!! Haha.. Keep up the good work man
I loved this one 👏👏👏
Kyle Beats coming with that knowledge
Nice thank you so much for the tips!!!!
guys! warning: ALWAYS COPYRIGHT YOUR BEATS! at least CONTENT ID... dead ass rappers everywhere. I got a lot of beats stolen, some rappers just download the free tagged beat and upload their song trhgouh cdbaby, distrokid etc... so they got your beat content ID and you will have a claim from them on your own youtub video loooool! ALWAYS COPYRIGHT your beats !
Snitch 🐀
FIRE LIKE ALWAYS
Thank you needed this info, keep making these fire videos kyle stay up🔥
My stance on selling beats is as long as people are buying them I don't really care as Im making money from the Music I have made
In my opinion a beat can sound great but if the lyrics and vocals are not on point the beat is going nowhere anyways
When your beat gets copyrighted and you have splice sounds in the beat it wouldn’t or it shouldn’t affect you correct ? Because it’s probably someone that has clames the sound and you just got copyrighted because someone claimed it correct ? So it shouldn’t be a problem?
You are talking about some high level shit.
I wouldn't take this guys advice. Better safe than sorry. Sounds like he's just being lazy and doesn't want to deal with some of the tedious things you have to do when making music.
🔥🔥
Love watching your videos bro you are definitely an inspiration and motivation to get myself better at making beats keep up the good work my nigga
Make a beat on garageband
That's why i choose to make free for profit beats, if they need license or exclusive they can buy one, but the rest is not clearly my job.
The end! Good video man

I really need some clarification on this right here. HOW THE FUCK DO ROYALTY SPLITS WORK?!!! It seems like no web page on the internet has any answers, and no explaining RUclips video. All I've heard is that people purchasing your beat is just the beginning of your payments..
Nice work broo 🔥🔥
Wow, sooo good! Great vlog!
The Piano and the Strings Are Fire ! S/O To You @Kyle Beats. The beat is so DOPE !
