Have you ever had a situation where your propane BBQ grill will not light correctly? Or, have you ever had the flame not operating at 100%? These are problems that could be attributed to the regulator not getting enough propane to the burners in your grill. This video talks about how to reset the propane grill regulator so that the proper amount of propane gas flows to the burners.

Here is a brief step by step checklist of what to do when you are having problems with your gas grill lighting:
First, check to make sure the tank isn’t empty. If there is a proper amount of fuel, the regulator bypass may have been triggered. A liquid propane tank has a safety feature built into the gas regulator on the tube connecting your tank to the grill. This safety valve will not open fully until the gas pressure has equalized between the tank and the grill. If the burners are in the on position, gas is leaving the lines in the grill and the pressure cannot equalize.
    - Completely shut the valve on the propane tank
    - Make sure all the gas valves on the grill are in the off position by turning the knobs completely off
    - Disconnect the gas hose from both the propane tank and the grill
    - Reconnect the hose to the tank and grill
    - Slowly open the valve on the tank and perform a leak test with a spray bottle of soapy water at the connections. If there are no leaks, turn on the grill
    - This will equalize the pressure and reset the gas shut off valve on the tank

After disconnecting the propane completely, turn the burners on high for a minute or 2. This will clear any left over gas in the lines. Turn burners off, reconnect propane and turn it on super slow for the first 3 to 4 turns.

I don't even get that puff when disconnecting. Open the bleed valve and get gas, tank is heavy... any suggestions?

Great tutorial short and to the point.
I had shut off the tank and inadvertently left two burners on...gave me fits!
I reset the regulator and it lit up like Christmas ...sweet, sweet steak flavored Christmas 😁👍

I have a six burner (3 ignition) set up and my grill heats up perfectly fine BUT when I attempt to lower the temperature to medium or below on my first 2 burners (ignition 1), the flame goes out either in a few minutes or when I close the lid (whichever comes first). Works fine no matter what the control knob is at on the other 4 burners. Any ideas? Possibly manifold valve?

HOW ABOUT THE SHUT DOWN PROCEEDURE, I UNDERSTAND THAT SOME REGULATORS THAT ARE EXTRA SENSATIVE CAN TAKE A "SET" , SO THAT IT'S BEST TO RELIEVE ANY RESIDUAL PRESSURE IN THE SYSTEM BY BLEEDING THE CONNECTION NUT FOR A SECOND OR SO , IS THERE AN APPROXIAMATE TIME FRAME THAT THE AVERAGE REGULATOR WILL QUIT FUNCTIONG PROPERLY, USUALLY THE FLEXIBILITY LIF OF THE DIAPHRAM OR SEATING MATERIAL, REGARDS
