    I have a teneke and burgundy growing in direct southern facing light. The burgundy I propagated a couple of months ago and it’s sprouted around 4 months ago.
    They LOVE that extra sun!

    Thank you so much for this guide!! My rubber tree has started dying and I decided to delve deep into finding proper care for it. I found out my pot was way too big, and I should've kept it in the nursery pot, along with better drainage.. hopefully repotting it and putting it in the light will help..

    Drea! Just want to say I love the quality of your videos and the info in them! I have had a tineke for over a year now and it is growing quite well, but I've had issues with small, dark brown spots appearing from the bottom of the lower leaves (not usually on the edges). I don't think those spots grow much, but instead the leaves get more of those spots over time. Any idea what this is caused by? My plant looks pretty healthy other than this.

    • @AlohaPlantLife
      @AlohaPlantLife  2 года назад

      Hi! Are the spots everywhere on the leaves or just on the white areas?

    • @saraaahchu
      @saraaahchu 2 года назад +2

      @@AlohaPlantLife They are actually usually on the center of the leaf, adjacent to the midrib then smaller ones appear nearby. Again, this is on the underside of the leaf. Thank you for reading this! :)

      @@saraaahchu Without being able to see it, my first two guesses would be either it’s fungal related or pest related. If you aren’t seeing any pests, and it keeps spreading maybe try treating it with a fungicide

    What an informative video! I have a peculiar question though...
    My tineke just got blasted to shreds by a hailstorm 🥺🥺 It doesn't have branches, and about 80% of the leaves have been torn by the hail. I was wondering if you had any advice for how long should I wait before trying to notch some branches in! It's about 4 feet high and looks like a broom now that I've removed the damaged leaves 😢

    • @AlohaPlantLife
      @AlohaPlantLife  Год назад +1

      I wouldn’t bother notching. With that much damage the plant will already be highly encouraged to start pushing out new growth on its own in order to sustain itself. Just be patient and let nature do it’s thing💚

  • @hyleah8166
    @hyleah8166 9 месяцев назад

    I was pretty sure I got a ruby but all the new leaves come out looking very tineke… I assumed because it’s not getting enough light? I have a grow light for it now since where I live doesn’t have a good window for me to put the tree in. My concern now is on two of the leaves there’s browning on the edges and it is dry, so could be watering and maybe dry air? This video is helpful though, your plants are gorgeous 😍

    • @AlohaPlantLife
      @AlohaPlantLife  8 месяцев назад

      Ruby leaves typically come in with more pink and then over time the pink can fade a bit. What percent is your humidity? These plants are pretty humidity tolerant so probably more likely to be a watering issue.

      Have you slipped it out of its pot to see what the root system looks like? If there aren’t a lot of roots then it’s probably just putting all of its energy in fully developing its root system first. @@AlohaPlantLife , Brooke Niswander, I'm so glad you asked this question! Aloha Plant Life, I have had this poor baby for years, I moved and didn't re-home her in proper light 😢 She DEFINITELY told me how unhappy she was and so quickly. I did re-pot her when she let me know she was getting a bit claustrophobic. She came back to life and even grew a couple little branches but she has such a top-heavy, awkward look to her but I still think she's beautiful 😍 I just need to know if I should prune her down, to make her more even, and propagate her top half and replant into the same pot and make her feel a bit more even? What would you do? I love her and we've been through a lot together. I want her to be happy, I don't want to make anything unnecessarily more difficult either. I'm open to anything that will work towards her longevity and well being!!! ❤ Thank you!🌱

      @@georgiamonte7780 hard for me to say without seeing the plant but as long as you don’t cut more than a third off you should be fine. I’d propagate anything you cut off separately directly into soil. Then you can decide later once the propagations have rooted if you want to add them to the same pot as the original plant. Hope this helps💚

      They are the same plants just recorded like a few days later. You should totally notch if your plants are in the right condition. So many of you have sent me your success stories after watching the notching video. I don’t know if you read all the comments on the notching video or not but by right condition I mean mature enough, right time of year (as in now), doesn’t have spider mites or other pests you are unaware of (like mine did), and is getting ideal growing conditions.
