I have a Bosch Rotak battery mower and after seeing your vids I wanted to try out a petrol cylinder mower. So I just bought a Rover 45 for £20 as it wasn’t running! (Bargain!) Fixed it for nothing and now it’s working great! Can’t believe you got an electric mower now 😂
It'd be interesting to know how it compares with the Allett Liberty 43 - the Swardman looks amazing but at least in Australia the Allett (sold as a Rover) seems to be quite a bit cheaper so for a person just starting with getting a nice looking lawn, the Swardman probably won't pass the wife test where as the Allett I could probably get there (one day)..
I have a client who prefers me to use his Liberty 43. It is rubbish. Way too light, can’t backlap, battery doesn’t last long enough. However, it would make a great boat anchor I reckon.
@@darrtoo5767 Hi, you can backlap a liberty! plenty of videos on youtube showing you how. Its 38kg so seems heavy enough to me and half the price. You can cut about 500 sq meters on a charge which is enough for most people.
Greg Carnall Apologies Greg, I found one & although it references the Kensington model I’m assuming it’ll be the same for the Liberty. Just in regards to the weight, I find it ‘floats’ over a tight surface & slips & slides. The rear roller being smooth also doesn’t help. I’m cutting Couch @approx 8-10mm every day in the growing season & 3-4 times each day. The battery runs out after the 3rd cut & the area is only 110m2. This is ok as I can do other tasks in his garden while the battery recharged. We’ve been quoted $530 for a new additional battery! So that is out of the question. To run the teasing rake as it’s designed to - barely knicking the surface reduces my cut down to 2 runs before a recharge. For this, I regularly use my grooming reel in my Scott Bonnar. Cheers mate
Absolutely Lawn Envy here Ben, my poor lawn has taken a back seat to everything else atm, still doing renovations inside and still have no motivation to get out in the yard, at least I can drool 🤤 over yours Lol 😂, hopefully next week I’ll get back into it, I can’t handle the Cold 🥶 but not as Cold as what you get in Orange. Looking forward to see a cartridge change and would like to see the battery - can you change in and out if you have larger areas, Keen to see more. Thanks
Thanks Ben Love the video :) It would be interesting to do a video comparison in the future about the Swardman and the Protea after a season. Great video once again mate.
Hello Ben!! Great video!! Brett Goodyear has been using my Swardman this last month and is doing a review. However, mine is the 2019 model. So the improvements seem to be significant. I'm wondering if I can upgrade my current unit with the new drum and handle bars???? I got the upgraded reel coming to Brett's house by Monday next week. Look forward to hearing what you think. I would like to talk when you get a chance. Let me know. Great vid mate!!!😁😁💪💪👍
The lawn is looking schmick for the middle of winter! It's middle of summer here in the states and I'd be the king of the block if my lawn looked that good. I'm getting there though!
Looks like a big improvement from the last design. A great option for someone who wants to go electric. But I have to say it... I love my Rover 45 and I will never upgrade!!

Good question. I ended up ordering the Liberty 43 because the Swardman was going to take longer to get. How did you get this and from where? I'm in the USA.
It’s definitely not Bermuda. And no it doesn’t work on any type of grass. It’s primarily used on short cut turf. Such as rye grass and bluegrass and also Bermuda. Longer blades grass like tall fescue and st Augustine it wouldn’t work the way it was designed to.

The only problem which I have with swardman mowers is that if you are in Western Australia, they can’t be bothered.
Garage sale soon for all of the equipment appearing in the shed.
Look into solar power on the shed for a battery charging station.
